Ok, we arent 'real', so I guess 'we' cant be God if we are not real, but we do have only one real aspect to us, and that is consciousness, and why should that consciousness be apart/seperate to God? afterall God says he is closer to us than our jugular vein, cant that mean that he is 'consiousness', as the creation i guess is this illusion...
There is a hindu story, about how this matrix/illusion came into being..
Imagine God as a river, and for some reason or other, a whirlpool developed within that river, and then that whirlpool forgot it was part of the river, and it found its own energy - fear to keep going around and around and around.. ie the matrix.. and anything that is built on fear energy cannot be part of true consciousness/God.. and religion is built on fear/seperateness, hierarchy.. The way it is described is as 'stillness', everything in creation is in vibration(duality) yet God is not.. and when we are able to be that 'stillness' we reconnect with our Godness/consciousness
So I can agree with your analogy that we are the software running on the PC, but then again that software doesnt really exist.. only God exists..
In truth i dont think this can be explained in words, only 'known'
But the knower and the known, can merge into one
The creator and the creation also
The poet and the poem, etc, etc
