Peace,
I've been thinking about Christianity and Buddhism and Eckhart Tolle, etc.
My understanding of real Buddhism is that it's a form of asceticism, where you can never repay evil for evil, you can never get angry, etc and in Christianity always to turn the other cheek and to always give to those who ask of you, especially if they don't pay you back, is just unrealistic, both of them.
Sometimes you have to put your foot down and say no, even if in the past you've said yes, if you ALWAYS turn the other cheek and if you ALWAYS give to those who ask of you, you will definitely get used by manipulative people who will never let you go and they will at times corrupt you as well for personal gain. A controlled ethical and legal anger can be a catalyst for a good change. My honest advice to everyone is respect the laws of your country, because evening scores can sometimes lead to prison, so sometimes it might be better to let go, but that's mainly when you're dealing with criminally minded people. That's why I said legal, i suppose that's just common sense.
I mean, Christianity is also a bit of an asceticism( at least Jesus's teachings in the gospels are, later on they contradict him in the New Testament) and that's like begging for food, which is also what buddhists do which is getting someone else to the "dirty work" for you. That's just not right and it's totally unrealistic.
And so on and so forth.......
Thanks
