Peace

When I was in college I chose an artsy, creative subject. I lost passion for the subject in terms of it being my day job although I don't mind being artsy in my spare time sometimes. I always felt like, what am I doing? This does not make a difference in the world. But I don't have the qualifications for being something like a doctor etc.

Does someone who is a doctor and saves people's lives get more reward than someone who creates music or art? Then again, life would be super DULL without music or art. If a person is successful in a creative subject and uses their income to help their family and the needy, then it does make a difference...but maybe not as much as a nurse or professor who's also charitable.

'These are the verses of Allah which We recite to you in truth. Then in what statement (hadith) after Allah and His verses will they believe? (45:6)'

In my opinion, I like what Paulo Coleho said
"Remember that wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure. You've got to find the treasure, so that everything you have learned along the way can make sense."
So what ever you like to do, always ask Allah's Guidance in EVERY action you take, this is what I am trying to do and it is brining some peace into my life.
What ever profession you have chosen or want, consider it as a service to God and hopefully you will be satisfied. Your heart or inner voice will tell you and do not try to compare ones profession over others, God know who will get what reward "Under the circumstances". You can make a big difference by teaching an orphan or taking care of him/her and who knows you will get tenfold reward than a professional doctor. Its very subjective.

Now for curiosity purpose, not to tease any one, i have put your question to AI and this is what it says :-)

Zero Verion:
As an AI language model, I don't have personal beliefs or opinions, but I can say that the concept of reward in the afterlife is a belief held by many religious traditions, and the specifics of this reward can vary greatly depending on the religion. In some religious beliefs, the reward in the afterlife is based on a person's actions and deeds during their life, including charitable acts and helping others. In other religious beliefs, the reward in the afterlife may be based on a person's devotion to their faith, or other factors.
When it comes to the question of whether someone who is a doctor and saves lives is more highly rewarded in the afterlife than someone who creates music or art, this would depend on the specific religious beliefs of the individual. Some may believe that the act of saving lives is more highly valued, while others may believe that creative pursuits hold equal or greater value.
Ultimately, the value of a career or profession in the eyes of a particular religion and its teachings is a matter of personal belief, and there is no one right answer. It's important to remember that each person's journey and experiences are unique, and it's up to each individual to determine what they believe is most important in their life and career.
In many religious traditions, it is believed that the reward in the afterlife is determined by one's actions and deeds in this life, rather than the specific career or profession a person has. Some believe that helping others, being kind and compassionate, and living a virtuous life are important factors that can bring reward in the afterlife.
That being said, it's important to remember that every person has their own unique path and purpose in life, and that different careers and professions can bring different rewards and fulfill different needs and desires. It's up to each individual to determine what they believe will bring them the most satisfaction, happiness, and fulfillment in their life, and to pursue that with passion and dedication.

First version:
=============
The idea that one profession or career is more rewarding or makes a greater difference in the world than another is a subjective matter and can vary greatly depending on an individual's values and beliefs. Some people might believe that saving lives as a doctor is the ultimate form of making a difference in the world, while others might argue that creating art or music that brings joy and comfort to others is equally valuable.
Moreover, both artistic and medical careers can have a profound impact on society and individuals, and both can play important roles in making the world a better place. The important thing is to find a career that aligns with your values and passions, and that allows you to make a positive impact in your own unique way.
It's also worth noting that success in any field, whether it's medicine, art, or something else, is not just about the profession itself, but also about how you use your skills, time, and resources to make a difference in the world. For example, a doctor who is kind and compassionate and goes above and beyond to help their patients can have a greater impact than a doctor who is simply going through the motions of their job. Similarly, an artist who uses their talents to bring attention to important social or political issues can have a greater impact than an artist who simply creates for their own enjoyment.
In the end, the most important thing is to find a career that brings you fulfillment and satisfaction, and to use your skills and resources to make a positive impact in the world in the best way you can.

2nd Version:
=============
It's natural to feel that way and question the impact of your career choices. However, it's important to recognize that every person and their contributions to the world are unique and valuable in their own way. There is no simple answer to whether one profession is more rewarding than another.
Being a doctor or nurse is certainly a noble and important profession, but so is creating art or music. Both can have a profound impact on people's lives. For example, music and art can bring comfort and inspiration to people, and can play an important role in raising awareness about important social and political issues. On the other hand, doctors and nurses save lives and provide critical care to those in need.
It's also important to remember that success and reward come in many forms, not just financial gain or prestige. For example, some people find great personal satisfaction and fulfillment in helping others, regardless of the type of work they do. Others find satisfaction in the creative process of making art or music.
In the end, what is most important is to find work that aligns with your values, interests, and passions, and that brings you a sense of purpose and fulfillment. Whether that is in a creative field, a helping profession, or something else entirely, the most important thing is to do what you love and to do it to the best of your ability.

3rd Version
===========
Comparing the value of different careers and professions is a complex issue and there is no simple answer. It's true that in some cases, careers in healthcare or other essential services can have more immediate and tangible benefits, such as saving lives or improving health. However, it's also true that art, music, and other creative fields play a vital role in shaping our culture and society and can bring joy and inspiration to countless people.
Ultimately, the value of a career or profession cannot be solely determined by the tangible benefits it provides. It's also important to consider factors such as personal fulfillment, satisfaction, and the impact a person has on their community and the world.
If you are feeling uncertain about your choice of career, it's important to remember that it's never too late to make a change or pursue additional education or training. You can always work to develop new skills and expand your knowledge, regardless of your age or background.
In conclusion, both careers in healthcare and creative fields have their own unique value, and it's up to each individual to determine what they consider to be most important in their life and career.

Peace Sarah..
Don't be dissapointed or discouraged by my critics...  Do what you love to do as long as it allows to do...  Everyone has passion and they choose a career and some choose out of necessity away from their passion...

But one thing I understand is you work as a labour in a masjid or church or sweeper or rather scavenger you sell groceries on the market or fish or be a butcher or be an army or driver or doctor or lawyer or astronaut or whatever you won't get reward as long as you get paid for your job...  that's my take... No double bonus...  Everyone contributes to the well being of society.. That's so common sense..

Just to elaborate little in detail.. Doctor is not doctor if there is no medicines and that doctor noy produce.. Doctor is not doctor without equipment that doctor not produce... Everything that doctor needs is imperative for his job... A father who is just a salesman can educate his son or daughter  to become a doctor... Otherwise he is no way a doctor... Being a salesman or tuk tuk driver he produced a doctor.

As I said if we take money for anything that is business or deal... Not a service... Charity only God rewards..

Yes if anyone I said above from what they earn have heart to spend on people who are not ours are charity... I don't know if a husband spend on children and wife is charity...  No clue as of now. I don't consider personally that as charity. But on other extended family can definitely be charity.

Do you think you can enter janna without doing charity.. God asks...

So sister don't highly rate anyone... God has kept disparity in society for the balance or smooth run... It won't get any reward.
Charity is not only by wealth.. Charity can be a service...

On top kg that sad to say but hard truth is those who you highly speak of doctors, have you ever seen a doctor who really serve human being with heart or a nurse  .. Yes they all need money to survive but becoming rich is their only intention regardless of who they encounter with... No mercy. So you think God reward... I extremely doubt with logic.

Doctor or any other foremost thing is belief in God... If that is not in heart all in vain. For example a disbelieving parents who take care if their tee children beyond their capabilities... They promise to themselces we don't keep any shortcomings to these children.  How mercy they are.     How kind  ..what a love. .hiw cruel it could be if God let all of them to go to hell fire.  Well.  That's the sadest part...
So what I am trying to say is charity is beyond family and beyond our job from which we earn...

Spend.  Yes. Spend from what you earn and be a believer... That's real reward.
So Sarah... Do what you do as long as directly it won't harm anyone.. And from what you earn willingly give something to those who ask those yiur heart melt.. If you know the reward you would hurry doing so.  But we don't know.  But keep doing charity... Don't dump all your earning.. Be wise..

Take care sister... I wish you become a great generous charitable person.  That's the greatest profession.

Jobs are there for income purposes.

So as long as your job isn't bad, it's good income. What you do with that income should be for good reasons.
