Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarkatuhu,

Honestly, I feel so relaxed and heart whelming every time when I recite Durood. According to Al-Ahzab Verse No. 56. Allah (SWT) commands the believers to send blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS).

Quote
Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.

Apart from Durood e Ibrahim, how often do you recite the short Durood (Allahumma Salli Ala Muhammad Wa Ala Ali Muhammad) on a regular basis whenever you're free?

I've seen a very good post regarding Durood Sharif (sending blessings upon our beloved prophet), how important it is for every Muslim to recite, and how beneficial it is for us in both worlds.

Peace...

I never do... Prophet was a physical figure and it was recommended while he was living... Send your blessings that would encourage him...
If you do to a dead person it won't make any difference  .. In sha allah he is already in Janna.. God knows...

Meaningless act...  Look at the context of the verses verses.
Thank you...
If you feel you would get benefit by blessing a prophet then do bless all prophet... Well just kidding.

Dead person?

What are you talking about, brother? :) Don't you know that all the Prophets are alive in the grave? Please do take a look at the below authentic Hadith.

Narrated Aws ibn Aws: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Among the most excellent of your days is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he died, on it the last trumpet will be blown, and on it the shout will be made, so invoke more blessings on me that day, for your blessings will be submitted to me. The people asked: Messenger of Allah, how can it be that our blessings will be submitted to you while your body is decayed? He replied: Allah, the Exalted, has prohibited the earth from consuming the bodies of Prophets. – [ Sunan Abi Dawud 1047]

Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “There is no one who sends Salaam upon me, but Allaah will restore to me my soul so that I may return his Salaam.”

(Abi Dawood Sahih)

It's extremely sad to know that you never do this act. Well, I assume it's a big sin for not sending the blessings upon our beloved Prophet...

Please go through  Surah Al-Ahzab Verse No. 56, this makes it very clear. :)

What use is it for anybody to be alive in the grave?
Are you serious?
A worm is alive under the ground, that I know for sure because they come up every now and then.

So what are the prophets doing in the grave?
If you are serious, please explain to us the idea of someone being alive but staying in the grave!

As for doing Durood for the prophet, does it benefit him, you or both?

If every soul is accountable for their deeds, then the prophet has lived ,done all he had to do and gone. You are now responsible for your deeds and the prophet cannot benefit or otherwise from you. Neither can you benefit from his deeds.

Can you see that each will earn their own salvation? So earn yours . If you think doing Darood is part of your deeds then feel free to do them. Others will choose what and how to do their deeds.
And that is all there is to it.
You are responsible only for yourself at GOD s.
GOD bless you.
Peace.

The religion of my father Abraham.

Say, "I have been commanded to Abud/follow/serve God, devoting the religion absolutely to Him alone.
"And I was commanded to be the utmost Muslim to GOD Alone/ submit."
Say, "I fear, if I disobeyed my Lord, the retribution of a great day."
Say, "God is the only One I Abud/follow/serve, devoting my religion absolutely to Him alone.
"Therefore, Ubud/follow serve whatever you wish besides Him." Say, "The real losers are those who lose their souls, and their Ahl, on the Day of Resurrection." Most certainly, this is the real loss.

GOD bless you.

peace,

authentic according to whom and how do you know which day is friday; use pope's calendar?

lets say you and the grand mufti of mecca et al wake up after a coma in the desert somewhere

how would you determine which day of the week it is exactly or even which month e.g. ramadan?

Ony the believers will be sending the blessings upon our beloved Prophet (SAWS).

If you guys are not believers, then don't... simple.

I'm not a mufti or a scholar but have enough faith in Allah & His Messenger (SAWS). :)

May Allah guide us all to the right path, and forgive our sins, Ameen.
