Greetings and Peace, all
Has anyone else considered raising Javelina for meat? They diverged evolutionarily from pigs about 40 million years ago--they aren't swine. What they *are* are native to North America, well suited to hot climates, more disease resistant than hogs, and able to eat material that would kill any other animal.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PeccaryNobody to my knowledge has attempted to breed for litter size, meat production, or anything else. It just seems a bit of a shame, especially considering that there are over a billion Muslims who could eat them--along with anyone else who eats animal protein.
Just food for thought.
May ALLAH see fit to guide all seekers.
