Peace,

Thanks Wakas for the link.

This is my comprehension of AMAH.. Almasjid is any place where believers gather for the reminder of God, establish salat, honor the commandments of Allah. The most important thing is what we do in these places. Any house can work as masjid.

The adjective alharam is used also for shahr, AMAH means a place where the commandments of God are not violated.

peace Houriya,

Thanks for sharing your view. If you check my above link, I link to my article which contains a "checklist" one can run their understanding through. I even provide a summary and identify the potentially problematic verses for the various understandings.

Unfortunately, most people simply state their view and don't bother addressing the issues highlighted. This approach doesn't really allow us to progress much further in our understanding.

Peace wakas,

My understanding is based only on verses from the Qur'an.
A place, housse, is masjid, mussallah if it is based on God's system like the first housse of Abraham.

I think we all agree, we follow /obey /sujood the direction of the divine system and not a physical direction of a place.
