hey guys hope u doing good, i collected data for the thread to start research and give opportunities for new members to learn and develop their own insight in the subject. i select three interpretation along with original arabic without vocal marks.
interpretation selected on the merits of their method of translating.for giving new views and new angles.

first we have to see all possible meanings of this root.

veiled/concealed/covered/hid/protected (e.g. cloth, armour, grave, shield), invisible, become dark/posessed, darkness of night, bereft of reason, mad/insane/unsound in mind/intellect, confusedness.

Become thick/full-grown/blossom, herbage, garden.

Spiritual beings that conceal themselves from the senses (including angels), become weak and abject, greater part of mankind, devil/demon, people who are peerless having no match or equal, a being who is highly potent, sometimes refers to Kings because they are concealed from the common folk.

Jinn   جن (this term only used once for non-being)

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
6:76 When the night covered him, he saw a planet, and he said: "This is my Lord." But when it disappeared he said: "I do not like those who disappear."

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
6:76 Then, when the night overshadowed him with its darkness, he beheld a star;., [and] he exclaimed, "This is my Sustainer!" -but when it went down, he said, "I love not the things that go down."

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
6:76 (Some of his people were idolaters and others were nature-worshipers.) One night when it grew dark upon him he saw a planet (Venus). He said, ?This is my Lord.? But when it set, he said, ?I do not love things that fade away.?

Ajinata  اجنة this term used once for human when he was simply hidden or invisible etc.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
53:32 They avoid major sins and immorality, except for minor offences. Your Lord is with vast forgiveness. He has been fully aware of you since He initiated you from the earth, and while you were embryos in the wombs of your mothers. Therefore, do not ascribe purity to yourselves; He is fully aware of the righteous.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
53:32 As for those who avoid the [truly] grave sins and shameful deeds - even though they may some?times stumble behold, thy Sustainer is abounding in forgiveness. He is fully aware of you when He brings you into being out of dust, and when you are still hidden in your mothers' wombs: do not, then, consider your-selves pure - [for] He knows best as to who is conscious of Him.

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
53:32 Those who abstain from the greater transgressions that deplete the communal energy, and from shameful deeds and stinginess, even though they may sometimes waver, your Lord is of limitless forgiveness. He knows you best since He brings you into being from the earth, and when you were still hidden in the bellies of your mothers. Therefore, claim not piety for yourselves. He knows best as to who is righteous.

Al-Jinn الجن this term having Al in it make it broader in meanings and when we see verses we can guess whats in there like the following verse.

in this verse its not only reffered to the jaan and insan but also other beings like concepts of aliens, angels, demons, giants, dieties of worship with divine powers etc..

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
6:100 And they set up partners with God from among the Jinn, while He had created them. And they invented for Him sons and daughters without them having any knowledge! Be He glorified and exalted above what they describe.
Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)

6:100 And yet, some [people] have come to attribute to all manner of invisible beings a place side by side with God - although it is He who has created them [all]; and in their ignorance they have invented for Him sons and daughters!Limitless is He is His glory, and sublimely exalted above anything that men may devise by way of definition:
Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)

6:100 Yet, there are those who believe in the existence of invisible beings with Divine powers although He is the One Who created them. They even assign to Him sons and daughters, without any knowledge. Be He Glorified! He is Exalted far above all that they attribute to Him.

this verse include shyatin in it means shayatin from all possible beings..

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
6:112 And as such, We have permitted the enemies of every prophet  mankind and Jinn devils  to inspire each other with fancy words in order to deceive. Had your Lord willed, they would not have done it. You shall disregard them and their fabrications.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
6:112 AND THUS it is that against every prophet We have set up as enemies the evil forces from among humans as well as from among invisible beings that whisper unto one another glittering half-truths meant to delude the mind But they could not do this unless thy Sustainer had so willed: stand, therefore, aloof from them and from all their false imagery!

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
6:112 Remember, We have appointed to every Prophet enemies. The rebellious among the urban and the rural populations rose in opposition (since the Message struck at their personal interests.) They plotted and inspired each other with fancy words. If your Lord willed, they would not do that. Disregard them and whatever they fabricate.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
6:128 And the Day We gather them all: "O assembly of Jinn, you have managed to take many from mankind." Their supporters from mankind said: "Our Lord, we have indeed enjoyed one another, and we have reached our destiny to which You delayed us." He said: "The Fire is your dwelling, abiding therein, except as your Lord wishes." Your Lord is Wise, Knowledgeable.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
6:128 AND ON THE DAY when He shall gather them [all] together, [He will say:] "O you who have lived in close communion with [evil] invisible beings! A great many [other] human beings have you ensnared! And those of the humans who were close to them will say: "O our Sustainer! We did enjoy one another's fellowship [in life]; but (now that] we have reached the end of our term-the term which Thou hast laid down for us - (we see the error of our ways]!" [But] He will say: "The fire shall be your abode, therein to abide-unless God wills it otherwise."Verily, thy Sustainer is wise, all-knowing.

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
6:128 The day will come when He gathers all of them and says, ?O You nomads! You have seduced many of the urban.? Their urbanite friends will say, ?Our Lord! We enjoyed each other?s company (and both used each other opportunistically as happens in a chaotic society) until we wasted a life span You had given us." He will say, ?Fire is your home. Abide therein forever according to God's Design." (O Messenger) your Lord is Wise, Knower.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
6:130 "O assembly of Jinn and mankind, did not messengers come to you from among you and tell to you My revelations, and warn you of the meeting of this Day?" They said: "Yes, we bear witness upon ourselves;" and the worldly life deceived them, and they bore witness upon themselves that they were rejecters.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
6:130 [And thus will God continue:] "O you who have lived in close communion with [evil] invisible beings and [like-minded] humans! Have there not come unto you apostles from among yourselves, who conveyed unto you My messages and warned you of the coming of this your Day [of Judgment]?" They will answer: "We do bear witness against ourselves!"-for the life of this world had beguiled them: and so they will bear witness against themselves that they had been denying the truth.

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
6:130 O You, assembly of the nomads and the urbanites! Did not Messengers come to you from among yourselves, conveyed to you My messages and warned you of the meeting of this your Day? They will say, "We testify against ourselves.? Pursuit of only the worldly life preoccupied their hearts and minds. They will bear witness against themselves that they disregarded the truth.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
7:38 He said: "Enter with the multitude of nations before you from mankind and Jinn to the Fire!" Every time a nation entered, it cursed its sister nation, until they are all gathered inside it; then the last of them says to the first: "Our Lord, these are the ones who have misguided us, so give them double the retribution of the Fire!" He replied: "Each will receive double, but you do not know."

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
7:38 [And God] will say: "Join those hosts of invisible beings and humans who have gone before you into the fire!" [And] every time a host enters [the fire], it will curse its fellow-host -so much so that, when they all shall have passed into it, one after another, the last of them will speak [thus] of the first of them:"O our Sustainer! It is they who have led us astray: give, them, therefore, double suffering through fire!" He, will reply: "Every one of you deserves double suffering -but you know it not."

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
7:38 God will command them to join the previous uncivilized and civilized communities into the fire. Every later group will blame the earlier one, "Our Lord! These are the ones who misled us; double their punishment.? He will say, ?Doubled for all?: but this you do not know.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
7:179 And We have given to Hell many of the Jinn and mankind; they had hearts with which they did not understand, and they had eyes with which they did not see, and they had ears with which they did not hear. They are like livestock; no, they are even more astray. These are the unaware ones.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
7:179 And most certainly have We destined for hell many of the invisible beings and men who have hearts with which they fail to grasp the truth, and eyes with which they fail to see, and ears with which they fail to hear. They are like cattle -nay, they are even less conscious of the right way: it is they, they who are the [truly] heedless!

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
7:179 We have committed to Hell numerous people, rural and urban (they are living a life of hell). They have hearts that they use not to understand. They have eyes with which they see not, and they have ears with which they hear not. They are like cattle. Nay, they are further astray. They, they are the ones who let the life pass by unaware of its potentials.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
17:88 Say: "If all mankind and the Jinn were to gather to bring a Qur'an like this, they could not come with its like, even if they were helping one another."

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
17:88 Say: "If all mankind and all invisible beings would come together with a view to producing the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce its like even though they were to exert all their strength in aiding one another!"

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
17:88 Say, ?If all mankind, in towns and villages, get together to produce the like of this Qur?an, they will not be able to produce the like of it, no matter how much help they give one another."

in this verse ibless is appeared as ALJINN.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
18:50 And We said to the angels: "Yield to Adam." So they all yielded except for Satan. He was of the Jinn, he disobeyed the order of his Lord. Will you take him and his progeny as allies besides Me, while they are your enemy? Miserable for the
transgressors is the substitute!

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
18:50 AND [remember that] when We told the angels, "Prostrate yourselves before Adam, they all prostrated themselves, save Iblis: he [too] was one of those invisible beings, but then he turned away from his Sustainer's command. Will you, then, take him and his cohorts for (your], masters instead of Me, although they are your foe? How vile an exchange on the evildoers'

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
18:50 Recall when We said to the angels, ?Humble yourselves to Adam!? They all humbled themselves except Iblees. He was of the hidden selfish desires that drifted away from his Lord's command. Will you still befriend him and his comrades rather than Me? And they are enemies to you! Miserable is the exchange the wrongdoers make.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
27:17 And the soldiers of Solomon were gathered, comprising of mankind and Jinn and birds, for they were to be spread out.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
27:17 And [one day] there were assembled before Solomon his hosts of invisible beings, and of men, and of birds; and then they were led forth in orderly ranks,

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
27:17 Solomon?s army included warrior tribes of the woods and the mountains, dwellers of townships, and great riders of the tribe of Taer. They were well disciplined, and dedicated to any appointed mission.

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
27:39 One of the strong commanders of the mountain division said, "My troops can accomplish this mission with lightning speed, before you rise up to think of and assign anyone else. I am competent and trustworthy for this job."

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
34:12 And for Solomon the wind was given, traveling one month coming and one month going, and We caused a spring of tar to flow for him. And from among the Jinn are those that worked for him with the permission of his Lord; and any one of them who turns from Our commands, We shall cause him to taste the retribution of the Fire.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
34:12 AND UNTO Solomon [We made subservient] the wind: its morning course [covered the distance of] a month's journey, and its evening course, a month's journey. And We caused a fountain of molten copper to flow at his behest; and [even] among the invisible beings there were some that had [been constrained] to labour for him by his Sustainer's leave and whichever of them deviated from Our command, him would We let taste suffering through a blazing flame -:

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
34:12 And to Solomon, We committed the wind at his disposal. (He mastered the science of sailing and his ships sailed much faster than the others.) They sailed one month going and one month coming back. And We gave him abundance in mining of copper and minerals and subdued for him the wild tribes who worked for him by his Lord?s leave. (Solomon established the Divine System such that) whoever turned aside from Our command, We made him taste a severe punishment.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
34:14 Then, when We decreed death for him, nothing informed them of his death until a worm kept eating from his staff, so when he fell down, the Jinn realized that if they had known the unseen, they would not have remained in the humiliating retribution.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
34:14 Yet [even Solomon had to die; but] when We decreed that he should die, nothing showed them that he was dead except an earthworm that gnawed away his staff. And when he fell to the ground, those invisible beings [subservient to him] saw clearly that, had they but understood the reality which was be?yond the reach of their perception, they would not have continued [to toil] in the shameful suffering [of servitude]

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
34:14 When We decreed death for him, nothing showed his death to the wild tribes until a creature of the earth ate away the strength he had mustered. (The incompetent successor Rehoboam destroyed the kingdom.) When the power base fell, the wild tribes rebelled regretting that they should have done it sooner only if they knew that the new king was unjust and weak.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
34:41 They will say: "Be You glorified. You are our Lord, not them. No, most of them were serving the Jinn; most were believers to them."

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
34:41 They will answer: ?Limitless art Thou in Thy glory! Thou [alone] art close unto us, not they! Nay, [when they thought that they were worshipping us,] they were but [blindly] worshipping forces concealed from their senses; most of them believed in them."

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
34:41 They will answer, ?Glory is Yours! You are our Master, not they. Nay, they used to worship their evil desires. Most of them were believers in them.?

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
41:25 And We assigned to them associates who adorned their present and past actions. Thus, the retribution has been deserved by them the same as previous nations of Jinn and mankind; all of them were losers.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
41:25 for [when they became obli?vious of Us,] We assigned to them [their own evil impulses as their] other selves, and these made appear goodly to them whatever lay open before them and whatever was beyond their ken.And so, the sentence [of doom] will have fallen due upon them together with the [other sinful] com?munities of invisible beings and humans that passed away before their time: verily, they [all] will indeed be lost!

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
41:25 (In the life of the world) We assigned them comrades who made pleasing to them their present and past actions. And so, the Word has come to pass for them as it did concerning the communities that lived before them, among the rural and the urban. They all are losers.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
41:29 And those who have rejected will say: "Our Lord, show us those who have misled us from among the Jinn and mankind so we can trample them under our feet, so that they would be the lowest."

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
41:29 And they who [in their life on earth] were bent on denying the truth will [thereupon] exclaim: ?O our Sustainer! Show us those of the invisible beings and humans that have led us astray: we shall trample them underfoot, so that they shall be the lowest of all!"

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
41:29 And the deniers will say, "Our Lord! Show us those, among the nomads and the urban, who misled us. We will trample them under our feet so that they become utterly disgraced."

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
46:18 These are the ones against whom the retribution has been deserved in nations who had come before them of mankind and Jinn; they are the losers.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
46:18 It is [such as] these upon whom the sentence [of doom] will fall due, together with the [other sinful] communities of invisible beings and humans that have passed away before their time. Verily, they will be lost:

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
46:18 Such are the ones against whom the Word came to pass among the previous generations of the rural and the urban. They will surely be lost!

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
46:29 And We directed to you a company of Jinn, in order to let them listen to the Qur'an. So when they arrived there, they said: "Pay attention." Then, when it was finished, they returned to their people, to warn them.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
46:29 AND LO! We caused a group of unseen beings to incline towards thee, [O Muhammad,] so that they might give ear to the Qur'an; and so, as soon as they became aware of it, they said [unto one another], ?Listen in silence!" And when [the recitation] was ended, they returned to their people as warners.

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
46:29 (O Messenger) We turned toward you a company of the nomads so that they may listen to the Qur?an. And as soon as they were in its presence, they said, ?Listen in silence!? And when it was over, they hurried to their people as warners.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
55:33 O you who live in close communion with [evil] invisible beings and humans! If you [think that you] can pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, pass beyond them!16 [But] you cannot pass beyond them, save by a sanction [from God]!

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
55:33 O Communities of the nomads and the urban! If you can break through the fences of the heavens and earth, then, break through. Never can you break through without an authority (which you won?t have). Can you bring any evidence?

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
72:1 Say: "It has been inspired to me that a group of Jinn were listening." They said: "We have heard a magnificent revelation!"

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
72:6 Some people of towns used to seek shelter with some of the nomads and increased them in confusion.

Jaan and aljaan

al jaan is broader than jaan, jaan reffered to something what people have in their mind about  another beings and we have little data  about aljaan and jaan is only in one refference with the staf of moses, it appears to moses at it is Jaan, and when author used alJAAN then its includes all those who were somehow created from NAAR. same like all nations of alinsaan including all homosaphien types what created from clay/dust/water. etc..

in this verse its appears Aljaan  were there before human race.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
15:27 And the Jinn, We created him before that from the fire of the fierce hot winds.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
15:27 whereas the invisible beings We had created, [long] before that, out of the fire of scorching winds.

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
15:27 Before humanity became civilized, We had placed in them a fiery disposition.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
27:10 "And cast down your staff." So when he saw it vibrate as if it were a Jinn, (jaan) he ran away and would not turn back. "O Moses, do not fear, for My messengers shall have no fear from Me."

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
27:10 [And then He said:] ?Now throw down thy staff!" But when he saw it move rapidly, as if it were a serpent,(jaan) he drew back [in terror], and did not [dare to] return. [And God spoke to him again:] O Moses! Fear not - for, behold, no fear need the message-bearers have in My Presence,

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
27:10 "Now rehearse the truth." When Moses did that, he felt that he had the vibrant Force of truth in hand. Yet he was awe-struck by the uphill task before him, like grabbing a huge python.(jaan) God said, "O Moses! Do not fear! The Messengers do not fear in My Presence."

you see all three interpretors select different choice of words for JAAN.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
28:31 "And cast down your staff." So when he saw it vibrate as if it were a Jinn, he turned around to flee and would not return. "O Moses, come forward and do not be afraid. You are of those who are safe."

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
28:31 And [then He said]: ?Throw down thy staff!" But as soon as [Moses] saw it move rapidly, as if it were a snake, he drew back [in terror], and did not [dare to] return. [And God spoke to him again:] ?O Moses! Draw near, and have no fear - for, behold, thou art of those who are secure [in this world and in the next]!

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
28:31 "Rehearse your supporting power of truth.? Moses felt as if the mission assigned to him was like holding a huge python, and he retreated hesitating. (God said), "O Moses! Draw near (to conviction), and fear not, you are secure from harm."

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
55:15 And the Jinn He created from a smokeless fire.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
55:15 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire.

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
55:15 And the Jinns: He has created out of smokeless fire (with an unstable fiery disposition).

only jaan and ins are in TEST/TASK ground.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
55:39 On that Day, no man or Jinn will be asked of his sins.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
55:39 For on that Day neither man nor invisible being will be asked about his sins.

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
55:39 In that Era neither the civilized nor the uncivilized will be asked why they trailed behind.

very though provoking verse is this. although this creature could be any gender male or female "hoor" traditionaly its accepted as feminine gender anyway.

this verse is not reffering (to al-jinn) only to jaan and ins not even to al-jann and al-ins..

the one who assemble/design/create/placed  those "hoors" was some being too ?

it appears two beings are there who were approaching a same thing/path from al-jinn and al-ins.so those hoors is for only them (2)beings as a result of  their reward.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
55:56 In them are those with a modest gaze, untouched before by any man or Jinn.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
55:56 In these [gardens] will be mates of modest gaze, whom neither man nor invisible being will have touched ere then.

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
55:74 Companions never touched by human vices or evil prompting.

MAJNU   مجنون while discussing all beings with that root there is something what should not missed is this word majnu..

there is things and concept related with this word the famous character of arab romantic story "Laila MAJNU" may give hint to that word, majnu is  someone who is insane or weird or someone possessed by evil spirits in negative and positive ways..  lets see if we find anything ... he was actually crazy the way how he loved laila lol.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
15:6 And they said: "O you upon whom the Reminder has been sent down, you are crazy."

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
15:6 And yet, they [who deny the truth] say: "O thou unto whom this reminder has [allegedly] been bestowed from on high: verily, thou art mad!

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
26:27 He said: "This messenger of yours who has been sent to you is crazy!"

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
26:27 [Pharaoh] exclaimed: ?Behold, [this] your 'apostle' who [claims that he] has been sent unto you is mad indeed!

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
26:27 Pharaoh said, "Your Messenger who has been sent to you is a crazy man."

the one who influence people by poetry.. (hidden charm) what human nature attracts towards at those times.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
37:36 And they would say: "Shall we leave our gods because of a crazy poet?"

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
37:36 and would say, ?Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?"

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
37:36 And they used to say, ?Shall we give up our gods for a mad poet??

again in this verse a clear defeat by people who are asking things, they acknowledge the charming qualities and legends are crazy most of the times their qualities are impressive in arts.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
44:14 But then, they turned away from him and said: "Clearly educated, but crazy!"

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
44:14 whereupon they turned their backs on him and said, ?Taught [by others] is he, a madman"?

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
44:14 Whereupon they had turned away from him, and said, ?Taught and tutored he is, a madman.?

in this verse more qualities of majnu are appearing as magicians, trickers, master of different arts etc.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
51:39 But he and his camp turned away, and said: "A magician, or crazy."

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
51:39 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, ?A sorcerer [is this Moses], or a madman!" ?

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
51:52 Likewise, when a messenger went to those before them, they said: "A magician, or crazy."

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
51:52 [But] thus it is: never yet came any apostle to those who lived before their time but they said, ?A spel1binder36

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
51:52 But, thus it is. No Messenger came to those before their time, but they said, ?A wizard or a madman!?

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
52:29 Therefore, you shall remind. For by the grace of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer, nor crazy.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)

noah also experienced same things.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)
54:9 The people of Noah disbelieved before them. They disbelieved Our servant and said: "He is crazy!" And he was oppressed.

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
54:9 [LONG] BEFORE those [who now deny resurrec?tion] did Noah's people call it a lie; and they gave the lie to Our servant and said, ?Mad is he!" - and he was repulsed.

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
54:9 Long before them, Noah?s people had denied the message, rejected Our servant and said, ?Madman?, and he was rebuked.

The Monotheist Group (The Quran: A Monotheist Translation)

34:46 Say, "I ask you to do just one thing: For the sake of God! Stand up in pairs and singly, and then think. There is no madness in your companion. He is only a warner to you in the face of a terrible doom."

considering all this it appears different scholars and also grammer of quran used different beings related with ROOT we are discussing example shabbir ahmed used both invisible beings and humans urban and rural in his interpretation according to the context of the verses regarding the subject.

in the end there is one more thing  having same root . its janna and aljanna one for gardens of this life one for gardens of life hereafter... this root is covering lot of things.

Good thread.... but you have not explained your views but brought maximum of relevant words and various translations... made the job easy for those who search in corpus quran etc... is that a research really or presented all the root words? :hypno:

Now can anyone find the answer for the question .. Did God create only Human and Jinn for His tests and will be judged to place in paradise and Hell or are there any other creature which belongs to the test... Is the thread sufficient enough to come to conclusion whether quran is for human only or ......?
Anyhow you have worked hard to present this with utmost interest..definitely someone will benefit when the argument goes forward...
may God guide us..

peace jkhan,

i explained the difference between terms and their usage where its relevant i want readers do their maximum effort to find the meanings. thtas why i select three translations, now its easy for us to give answers of questions in light of quranic cross check of this root. while reading and thinking about all of the material i have to read all other related terms like ?insan? and refferences of different insans are there too anyway coming back to your question let me see how this data will help us.

next thread will b on "insan" becoz i feel to gather data for that term too.

your questions
RED next time used arabic words please thats why i made this thread not to get confused with jaan and jinn. insan and alinsan etc.

if you look into that part  of my thread that answer could b linked there..

1.   Is INS and INSAN only used for human beings? The answer will be categorically YES.
2.   Is any other words also used for human beings or category of human beings? The answer will be YES. Adam and JIN are also used for human beings.
3.   Is JAAN only used for creature made of fire? The answer will be YES.
4.   Is JAAN also used for any other creature beside invisible beings in the book?  The answer will be YES, for snake.
5.   Is snake made of fire? Answer is NO. How do we know verse is talking about invisible beings or Snake? Its context.
6.   Is JIN used for invisible beings made of fire in the book? ?NO?
7.   What is word JIN used for in the book? It is used for angels, astrologers, foreigners, nature of forces etc.

peace brother NK, as i promised i complete my data most of it now we can re visit those questions again.. although you asked it from JKhan . lol

1  only ins and insan but we have more things to add al-ins and al-insan ? quran used all those terms.

2 not adam mean human in all events but in some verses the meanings of adam can be used as humanity. but also quran used lot of other words for human examples are
( bashar, naas, ins, insan, alinsan, rijal, nafs, majnu, mari ) 9 different form for HUMAN wao lol

3 not JAAN but only AL-jaan is used for the creatures made up of NAAR. and jaan is from aljaan too.

4 no jaan only used for creature from which human can get scared it could also be snake as it appears to moses. it could also be rumors and stories about invisible beings ghosts etc hence he get scared..  point here is is JAAN only used for snakes, answer is no, because quran use three different terms for snake..
so moses get scared as it appears to him his staff come into jaan/snake/something from which he can get scared..

5 exactly thats why see answer 4 again..

6 جن only used by quran once which is for (non-being) thing.

7 see answer 6 if you are asking about AL-jinn then i agree AL-JIN is BROADER in meanings..

brothr NK you can see it and let me know if you want to repharase your questions with the terms availaible now..

God  bless us all.

Thank you, Imran! It is a great helpful thread. Other than the Ayats presented here having the word forms, I would like to consider the below Ayats as well:
٣٢_١٣   وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَءَاتَيْنَا كُلَّ نَفْسٍ هُدَىٰهَا وَلَٰكِنْ حَقَّ ٱلْقَوْلُ مِنِّى لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ
032:013 And if We had pleased We would certainly have given to every soul its guidance, but the word (which had gone forth) from Me was just: I will certainly fill hell with the jinn and men together.

002:024 But if you do (it) not and never shall you do (it), then be on your guard against the fire of which men and stones are the fuel; it is prepared for the unbelievers.

What does the word الحجارۃ means? Do you think it is replaced with الجنۃ?

May Allah bless and guide us all!

peace brother,

first of all see the root used by  الحجارۃ is only used for living thing(beings) or
non-living(non-beings) ?
then we can see where we can use this word and root as per crosscheck method.

and 32 : 13 is covered in this post of thread.

i seperate verses of الجنة and جنة
