Verse 48:1-2

Salam to All,

Verse 48:1-2

48:1 We have given you a clear conquest.

48:2 So that God may forgive your present sins, as well as those past, and so that He may complete His blessings upon you, and guide you on a straight path.

Are these verse referring to prophet Muhammad?

Yes, the Pronoun refers to second person, the addressee, the Messenger.

As for translation given above it is patently incorrect by someone who does not know about Forms of Verbs.

So can we say that the prophet had sinned, but his sins had been forgiven. That is he died without sins?

Forbiding what God has not forbidden I think is a sin. We read in onother verse the prophet been reprimanded for forbidding something.

I might be wrong

Not your fault. Translators even failed to notice that the word they have translated as "sins" is in original text singular not plural - .

There is no such thing, in my study, about red part. Please quote ayah.

66:1 O you prophet, why do you prohibit what God has made lawful for you, seeking to please your wives? God is Forgiver, Compassionate.

I see here in this verse the prophet being reproached by Allah for forbidding something that is not forbidden by God

I may understand it the wrong way.

There is nothing in Arabic text which could convey even remotely "reproached".

I have given at the end of page linked morphological and syntactic analysis of the first sentence of Ayah. Please study and give your input.

These aayaat has nothing to do with Mohammed or Messenger or Prophet. If so, it would have added like: Ya ayyuha alNabi we have....

These aayaat are all about you.

Please note:
48:1 إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُّبِينًا

6:44 فَلَمَّا نَسُوا مَا ذُكِّرُوا بِهِ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ أَبْوَابَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فَرِحُوا بِمَا أُوتُوا أَخَذْنَاهُم بَغْتَةً فَإِذَا هُم مُّبْلِسُونَ
6:44 So when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We opened to them the doors of every [good] thing until, when they rejoiced in that which they were given, We seized them suddenly, and they were [then] in despair. [sahih international]

Look at the words in green in the both the aayaat, they are exactly same. Then how it became a victory or conquest in 48:1?

Look at the red part, it says WE not I. WE is not Allah but a supreme creation.
All of us in control of WE because they have been given the authority by Allah.
So they opened you from their controls, now everything is between you and Allah alone.

This is how I understand it.
6:162    قل إن صلاتي ونسكي ومحياي ومماتي لله رب العلمين
6:162    Say: My contact prayer, and my rites, and my life, and my death, are all to Allah, Lord of the worlds.

Did you notice the object of verb? When word "open" is used it needs an object.

When it is in the meaning of conquest, victory it need not an object.
