I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak the truth and He will declare to you what is to come.

Salam Everyone!

Brother New Frenzy, If wives of Prophet are mothers to the believers (and so believers are their sons) then tell me what contradictions you see in below Ayats?:

[33:53] O you who have believed, do not enter the houses of the Prophet except when you are permitted for a meal, without awaiting its readiness. But when you are invited, then enter; and when you have eaten, disperse without seeking to remain for conversation. Indeed, that [behavior] was troubling the Prophet, and he is shy of [dismissing] you. But Allah is not shy of the truth. And when you ask [his wives] for something, ask them from behind a partition. That is purer for your hearts and their hearts. And it is not [conceivable or lawful] for you to harm the Messenger of Allah or to marry his wives after him, ever. Indeed, that would be in the sight of Allah an enormity.
[33:54] Whether you reveal a thing or conceal it, indeed Allah is ever, of all things, Knowing.
[33:55] There is no blame upon them concerning their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their brothers' sons or their sisters' sons or their women or those their right hands possess. And fear Allah. Indeed Allah is ever, over all things, Witness.

Secondly, what does word ابائک means in below Ayat when related to Ismael:
[2:133] Or were you witnesses when death approached Jacob, when he said to his sons, "What will you worship after me?" They said, "We will worship your God and the God of your fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac - one God. And we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."

What does the word ابیکم means in below Ayat:

[22:78] And strive for Allah with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty. [It is] the religion of your father, Abraham. Allah named you "Muslims" before [in former scriptures] and in this [revelation] that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over the people. So establish prayer and give zakah and hold fast to Allah. He is your protector; and excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper.

So, 'Mother' and 'Father' can be used as titles of respect or spiritual mother and father as other brothers and sisters have also pointed out.

May Allah bless and guide all the truth seekers!

(58:2)Those among you who have estranged their women; they can never be made as their mothers, for their mothers are those who gave birth to them. Indeed, they are uttering what is strange and a falsehood. And God is Pardoner, Forgiver.

(33:6) The prophet is closer to the believers than themselves, and his wives are mothers to them. And the decree of God to the believers and the emigrants is that before they help their relatives, they have taken care of their own families first. Such has been decreed in the Book.

Peace NewFrenzy, what do you think of ayat 4:82 is it a mistranslation or
you don't believe it to be true or something else?

Well put and well quoted ayas.

Some people  think that in order to inerppret the Qur'an one should divest oneself of intelligence, common sense resoning and judgement, as if meanings camefrom pressing a button and were automatical.  But in fact a name given to itself by the Qur'an is al furqaan and that means something.

we see that the reading/qira'ah of Ubayy ibn Ka'ab has these extra words: "and he is a father of them". This means Ubayy ibn Ka'ab recited sura 33:6 as follows:

The Prophet is closer to the Believers than their own selves, and he is a father of them and his wives are their mothers. ... (Qur'an 33:6)

REviewing this post again I see that I made a mistake in the quotation. It should have been this by TellmetheTruth:
