Bring 10 surahs like it. (11.13)



- If we search in the quran we find that the word سورة (surah) is mentioned 9 times in singular form and 1 time in plural form   سور

و إن كنتم في ريب مما نزلنا على عبدنا فأتوا بسورة من مثله و ادعوا شهداءكم من دون الله إن كنتم صدقين

البقرة:  23

And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful. 2.23

يحذر المنفقون أن تنزل عليهم سورة تنبئهم بما في قلوبهم قل استهزءوا إن الله مخرج ما تحذرون

التوبة:  64

The hypocrites are apprehensive lest a surah be revealed about them, informing them of what is in their hearts. Say, "Mock [as you wish]; indeed, Allah will expose that which you fear. 9.64

و إذا أنزلت سورة أن ءامنوا بالله و جهدوا مع رسوله استءذنك أولوا الطول منهم و قالوا ذرنا نكن مع القعدين

التوبة:  86

.And when a surah was revealed [enjoining them] to believe in Allah and to fight with His Messenger, those of wealth among them asked your permission [to stay back] and said, "Leave us to be with them who sit [at home]." 9.86

و إذا ما أنزلت سورة فمنهم من يقول أيكم زادته هذه إيمنا فأما الذين ءامنوا فزادتهم إيمنا و هم يستبشرون

التوبة:  124
.And whenever a surah is revealed, there are among the hypocrites those who say, "Which of you has this increased faith?" As for those who believed, it has increased them in faith, while they are rejoicing. 9.124

و إذا ما أنزلت سورة نظر بعضهم إلى بعض هل يرىكم من أحد ثم انصرفوا صرف الله قلوبهم بأنهم قوم لا يفقهون

التوبة:  127
.And whenever a surah is revealed, they look at each other, [saying], "Does anyone see you?" and then they dismiss themselves. Allah has dismissed their hearts because they are a people who do not understand. 9.127

أم يقولون افترىه قل فأتوا بسورة مثله و ادعوا من استطعتم من دون الله إن كنتم صدقين

يونس:  38

Or do they say [about the Prophet], "He invented it?" Say, "Then bring forth a surah like it and call upon [for assistance] whomever you can besides Allah, if you should be truthful. 10.38

أم يقولون افترىه قل فأتوا بعشر سور مثله مفتريت و ادعوا من استطعتم من دون الله إن كنتم صدقين

هود:  13

.Or do they say, "He invented it"? Say, "Then bring ten surahs like it that have been invented and call upon [for assistance] whomever you can besides Allah, if you should be truthful. 11.13

سورة أنزلنها و فرضنها و أنزلنا فيها ءايت بينت لعلكم تذكرون

النور:  1

[This is] a surah which We have sent down and made [that within it] obligatory and revealed therein verses of clear evidence that you might remember.

و يقول الذين ءامنوا لولا نزلت سورة فإذا أنزلت سورة محكمة و ذكر فيها القتال رأيت الذين في قلوبهم مرض ينظرون إليك نظر المغشي عليه من الموت فأولى لهم 

محمد:  20

Those who believe say, "Why has a surah not been sent down? But when a precise surah is revealed and fighting is mentioned therein, you see those in whose hearts is hypocrisy looking at you with a look of one overcome by death. And more appropriate for them [would have been]. 47.20
