Peace, should be a good exercise in cross-reference context study; note he purposely chooses verses which without diacritical marks words are spelled alike in older manuscripts which Qur'an was revised ~200 years (or more, investigating) after revelation e.g. verse counts re-arranged; early manuscripts didn't count initials as separate verses, see examples?

19:1 كهىعص Kaaf Ha Ya Ain Saad 19:2 ? counted as single verse
29:1 الم alif lam meem 29:2 ? were all counted as a single verse
42:1 حم ha meem 42:2 عسق ayn seen qaf ? count as single verse

Likewise nuances early scribes were careful to distinguish e.g. if pertains to singular/plural:

بالعذب bil-ʿadhābi/in the punishment (no alif, refers to individual)
العذاب l-ʿadhābu/the punishment (with alif if referring to a group)

There are countless examples depending on address, etc., although want to focus on these verses.

1)   2:271 وىكفر wayukaffiru (with ?ya?) OR نكفر nukaffir (with ?noon? e.g. 4:31)?

2)   2:10 ىكذبون yakdhibūna/lying OR ىكذبون yukadhibūna/denying (e.g. 83:11)?

3)   6:115 كلمت kalimatu/word OR كلمت kalimātin/words (e.g. 2:37)?

4)   9:66
نعف naʿfu/we pardon OR ىعف yaʿfu/he pardoned (e.g. 42:34)?

نعذب nuʿadhib/we punish OR ىعذب yuʿadhibu/he punished (e.g. 29:21)?

5)   43:24 قل qāla/said OR قل qul/say (e.g. 17:42)?

Note in old manuscripts above are written alike need to use logic/context -- some are easy.

No takers yet, going to let that da vinci code  >:D looking missionary freak beguile you?

Ok let's do the first verse using "context" notice the consistency ...

2:271 وىكفر wayukaffiru/and he removed عنكم about you من from سىىاتكم evil deeds yours والله and the god بما in what تعملون thou working خبىر aware

8:29 ان if تتقوا fear ye of الله the god ىجعل maketh لكم for you فرقانا criterion of وىكفر wayukaffir/and he removed عنكم about you سىىاتكم evil deeds yours

39:35 لىكفر liyukaffira/surely he removed الله the god عنهم about them

48:5 وىكفر wayukaffira/and he removed عنهم about them سىىاتهم evil deeds theirs وكان and be ذلك such عند near/with الله the god فوزا victory of عظىما major of

64:9 ومن and who ىومن believed they بالله in the god وىعمل and works صلحا righteous of ىكفر yukaffir/he removed عنه on him سىىاته evil deeds his

65:5 ومن and who ىتق fears الله the god ىكفر yukaffir/he removed عنه on him سىىاته evil deeds his

66:8 توبوا repent ye of الى to الله the god توبه repentance نصوحا sincere of عسى perhaps ربكم lord yours ان that ىكفر yukaffira/he removed عنكم about you سىىاتكم evil deeds yours

now the "we" verses

4:31 ان if تجتنبوا thou avoid ye of كباىر greater ما what تنهون thou forbidden being عنه on it نكفر nukaffir/"we" remove عنكم about you سىىاتكم evil deeds yours وندخلكم wanud'khil'kum/and "we" enter you مدخلا entrance of كرىما noble of

29:7 لنكفرن lanukaffiranna/surely remove "we" عنهم about them سىىاتهم evil deeds theirs ولنجزىنهم walanajziyannahum/and surely "we" recompense them

notice also that "noon" was dotted in old manuscripts where necessary to distinguish.

anyone like to try 2)   2:10 ىكذبون yakdhibūna/lying OR ىكذبون yukadhibūna/denying (e.g. 83:11) -- it's easy?

The Sardar

I'm a bit lost Noon, is this a refutation to that video claiming that Quran is corrupted?

peace sardar -- yes; here is 2) which "in context" 2:8-10 about deception yakdhibūna/lying NOT yukadhibūna/denying

2:8 ومن and among الناس the humankind من who ىقول speaketh امنا believe we of بالله in the god وبالىوم and in the day الاخر the last وما and not هم themselves بمومنىن in/with believers 2:9 ىخادعون deceiving الله the god والذىن and the ones امنوا believes they of وما and not ىخدعون deceiving الا except انفسهم souls theirs/themselves وما and not ىشعرون realizing 2:10 فى in قلوبهم hearts theirs مرض illness فزادهم so enhanced them الله the god مرضا illness of ولهم and for them عذب punishment الىم dire بما in what كانوا be they of ىكذبون yakdhibūna/lying

Noon waalqalami

peace, didn't want to leave these unresolved.

3)   6:115 كلمت kalimatu/word OR كلمت kalimātin/words?

Note in old manuscripts the above are written exactly alike and again need to use context.

6:115 وتمت and fulfilled كلمت kalimatu/word ربك rabbika صدقا sincerely وعدلا and justly لا not مبدل modifier لكلمته likalimātihi/words his وهو and he السمىع the hearer العلىم the knower

e.g. like saying in English: "you have my word" NOT "you have my words" broken language, poorly spoken, or ill-written.

4)   9:66
نعف naʿfu/we pardon OR ىعف yaʿfu/he pardoned?

نعذب nuʿadhib/we punish OR ىعذب yuʿadhibu/he punished?

9:66 لا not تعتذروا make excuses ye of قد hence كفرتم reject you بعد after اىمنكم faith yours ان if نعف naʿfu/we pardon عن about طاىفه party منكم among you نعذب nuʿadhib/we punish طاىفه party بانهم since they كانوا be they of مجرمىن criminals

scroll over words with magnifier clearly see dot above noon (we pardon/punish)
