You described the problem in humans that GOD highlights in Qoran. We are always looking for a "human friend who can mirror our understanding...".,We are looking for "support and a "sect" to belong to of "we have the truth".
I believe Qoran advises to concentrate on "our own neck". If we believe/accept Qoran, then we should try our best to trust the Author of Qoran to guide us, only rely on Him Alone and do our best to follow "the best path" of Qoran in conduct and deeds to better ourselves.
It is never about following a religion of humans ,it is GOD s religion of "Sirat Al Mustaqueem"- A straight path of GOD Alone and an individual relationship with GOD without idol worship of any kind.
We are different and diverse in upbringing and traditions, impossible for any two humans to have a same understanding of everything.
May the Lord unite and guide all the believers.
