Ok, I've been on this site for awhile now, mostly in the shadows admittedly, but its still likeable in many ways. The only problem though is that I'm pretty much alone in terms of outside-the-internet searching for like minded people. I hate to use the word but I'm desperate in a sense to build some sort of connections to other like minded people, and although there is the occasional talk of meeting physically it doesn't seem to pan out.

I'd be interested to know if anyone would be prepared to meet me and/or any other members (presumably in the UK? ) seriously for discussions/friendship/whatever. It would of course be planned in advance between the individuals, in a public place, and whatever other securities wanted.

I'd also be interested to know if there are any other websites of online communities which I could join that doesn't revolve around matrimony.

Same here. I'd really like to make friends too. Seriously by myself here, a little chat every other day would brighten my days a little.

Actually, you guys in the UK seem to be quite a lot if compared with Indonesia.

I'm surrounded by so very many muslims whose affected by Sunni influences (I'm glad that most of them are not strict in Islamic rules, pretty moderate, and I think many people here are friendly, hospitable).

However still, I cannot speak freely about my faith to others in my own country, because of the risk that they may think I am misguided <--- I'm afraid if I will be hated or even excluded by my society,

they may look at me in different way if they know what I believe today.

because in general, I think many of them still believe in the saying of preachers who often give lectures ("da'wah"), whose their number are quite many in our country. Even one of my late grandfathers was an Islamic religion teacher.

So? Why do you care what people who are doing it wrong themselves think? The approval of wicked people surely does not count for much.

I still want to protect my life, so I'd better not say much or be quiet when I don't feel secure.

Okay sorry, I didn't realise it was that bad,    that must be difficult. Maybe not go out of your way to do things differently and like 'advertise' that you think differently but then don't try and hide it either...find the middle ground, maybe.
