The only savior for a person are his/her DEEDS.  What you sow in this life, you reap in the next. Therefore, the messengers of God were a means to an end, not the end itself. The deluded Christians who wait for Jesus to save them are no less deluded than those Muslims who await the intercession of Muhammad. Both will be dissapointed on the day their DEEDS are laid bare.

Peace, out.

Sounds good, and not to disagree, but not even the deeds of a person can save them. A person can do an infinite amount of good and no bad at all and can still be destroyed or tortured endlessly if God so wills it. God is not bound by anything and can freely do whatever at all God wants to do without obstruction. That isn't to say that we shouldn't be good unceasingly, but that we shouldn't forget that God rewards good not out of any real obligation to do so nor is forced to do so, but only does so by grace and deliberate decision to do so if God ever does, ultimately nothing at all can be hoped for and trusted, all we can do is throw the dice in our strategy. My strategy is to do good and be nice and worship God fearfully as there is simply nothing else to fear but God, and hope that God grants me good in this life and the next, but I fear God because I know God has no obligation to do that even if God makes a million books with a million promises God has the power to simply throw anyone into hell or mislead or confuse or obstruct or change anyone or anything.

49:13
Mankind! We have created you from a male and female, and made you into peoples and tribes, so that you might come to know each other. The noblest of you in Gods sight is the one who fears God most. God is all knowing and all-aware.

The original poster speaks of the horror that awaits us all, and they aren't wrong. It is the ultimate horror, and it doesn't only await us, it is now too, except that people are kept unconscious of it (perhaps including the original poster, who might comfort themselves with the idea that God would not or could not harm them in the least). To make oneself free from the fear of God, is to be far from the knowledge of God. To know God is to be utterly afraid.

Hail

No need to fear. GOD is Al-Rahman, Al-raheem.

She said: Lo! I seek refuge in the Rahman from thee, if thou art Allah-fearing.

The fear of Allah is crucial for controlling social circumstances as well as an essential if not the most essential part of really knowing the scenario at hand.

Good bye and good luck!
Teachings of Paul contradict the teachings of Jesus.
Christianity, as followed today was formulated by Paul.
Muslims are the ones who truly follow the teachings of Jesus, we love him and we want to be with him in Paradise. He is clearly a great Prophet of God.

And unfortunately, even after writing holy book for Christians, Mr Paul remained Jewish.  :'(

Yeah, thank you, generally I quote from some of the selections at www.islamawakened.com/quran which are all mainstream translations, so they may have the issues that many of the mainstream translations tend to have.

Regardless if it says fear or not though, I tend to promote the fear angle these days.

He only one who has anything to fear is he who does wrong, violate the decree and that means only the ten Commandments and not all garbage invented.

That is if you believe in that system, I don't really, I believe that God can make up anything and then turn it on a person, or can drive them right into disaster, while the person knows it or doesn't know it, the power is far greater than to be thrown in the middle of the tiny ocean of Earth and being pushed this way and that way by the waves of the ocean. Though don't worry about it, I can't disagree with you, many people are definitely fearless. The word even, "fearless" has positive connotations for most people.

The root of the verb which is usually translated as fear when speaking  about God is w-q-y, which basically means protect. In its eighth form is is reflexive, one protets onself, so it would be tantamount to protect yourself from God.

If we look in 4.1. we are adviced to ittaqw Allay waal arham, protect ourselves form God and the wombs.

So I think it is plain that we are being told to protect oursleves from the consequences of remaining ignorant of the import of God or the import of the wombs, of our co9ndition with respect to them, or like some translators tranlate, to be conscious, to be attentive or be aware. Whatever we do or not so it is at our own risk. God does not attack treacherously. So we are warned we care for ourselves or we do not.

Yeah, I agree with that, the "guard yourself from God" idea.
