Peace everyone
I would like to highlight one of the lovely teachings of Jesus' Doctrine, which has been noted by Jafar, and maybe a few other members, about Forgivness.
I would think that the best modern description of this doctrine would be, getting a taste of your own medicine~
To Quote:

"....Forgive, and you will be forgiven." (luke 6:37)
"Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy." (Matthew 5:7)
"If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will also refuse to forgive your sins." (Mathew 6:14-15)

Now this methodology conforms perfectly with the Quranic Values, as we note that:
"To God belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. He will requite those who commit evil for their works, and will reward the righteous for their righteousness. (Quran 53:31)
"...we decreed for them (Children of Israel) in it that: the life for the life, the eye for the eye, the nose for the nose, the ear for the ear, the tooth for the tooth, and an equivalent injury for any injury. If one forfeits what is due to him as a charity, it will atone for his sins" (Quran 5:45])
" If the debtor is unable to pay, wait for a better time. If you give up the loan as a charity, it would be better for you, if you only knew ( Quran 2:280)
"...Pardon and overlook. Do you not love that God should forgive you?? (24:22)

Thus it might seem be  lucrative ($$$) to sue your offendor/aggressor for whatever reason under the sun-- it is even more wise to forgive him, because 1) the Almighty will more likely forgive you 2) and show you his mercy 3) and show you His Goodness, and the list goes one. After all His Most Supreme, High Majesty commands us to be/act nice (2:195) and retaliate evil with good (13:22), and to say in retaliation what is better/nicer (17:53 & 23:96) so much so that your enemy might become your own friend (41:34).
You might want to also read God's system of Righteousness

There's an ancient chinese sayings on war which said:
"The true objective of war is to conquer the enemy's heart, as long as the enemy's heart has not yet been conquered then the war is far from over".

On this same topic, you might consider reading through Proverbs also.

Proverbs 11:17  The merciful man does good for his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.

and also in the NT
- Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy - Matthew 5:7

Thank your posting this. My experiences, circumstances and personality make forgiving a hard thing for me. Especially when I see a person whom I forgive or who's nefarious deeds I allow to slide do them again. As such I simply cut these people off after a while. Mercy and forgiveness is difficult for me, perhaps I have ego and mercy problems mixed with bitter experiences and a sensitive personality which create feelings of mercilessness but thank you for posting this reminder, I hope that Allah will give me the strength to forgive and my enemies the strength and wisdom to correct their behavior after I forgive them whenever this situation may occur. Thank you once again for this reminder of the benefits of forgiveness and mercy.
Listen, and understand! That Terminator is out there! It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.

We here have different views from salaat, to haj, to qibla to shirk to many fiqh issues. But there is something that binds us all, is we take our deen from the Quran and we recognize its authority over anything else. - BigMo

We must constantly seek God and His forgiveness.  We should also forgive others, but we don't have to forget what they've done.  If cutting a person out of your life is needed, then you are not wrong in doing so.  As long as you hold no anger for them and have forgiven them, tell them to go and even tell them the reason why.  It is honesty and you will still have been forgiving and merciful while watching out for yourself.
To God belong the East and the West. Wherever you turn the glory of God is everywhere: All-pervading is He and all-knowing. (Al-Baqara 2:115)

SubhanAllah so nice = thank you! :)

i found this also:
Quote3:134    The ones who spend in prosperity and adversity, and who repress anger, and who pardon the people; God loves the good doers.

Quote4:149    If you reveal what is good or hide it, or forgive what is bad, then God is Pardoner, Capable
Quote5:13    But because of them breaking their covenant, We have cursed them, and made their hearts become hardened; they take the words out of context; and they forgot much of what they were reminded of. And you will still discover betrayal in them except for a few; so pardon them and overlook; God loves the good doers.
Quote16:125    Invite to the path of your Lord with wisdom and good advice, and argue with them in that which is better. Your Lord is fully aware of who is misguided from His path, and He is fully aware of the guided ones.
16:126    And if you punish, then punish with equivalence to that which you were punished. And if you are patient then it is better for the patient ones.
16:127    And be patient, for your patience is on none except God. And do not grieve for them, and do not be depressed by what they scheme.
16:128   God is with those who are aware and are good doers.
Quote41:34    Not equal are the good and the bad response. You shall resort to the one which is better. Thus, the one who used to be your enemy, may become your best friend.
Quote42:37    And those who avoid gross sins and lewdness, and when they are angered, they forgive.
Quote42:40    The recompense for a crime shall be its equivalence, but whoever forgives and makes right, then his reward is upon God. He does not like the wrongdoers.
Quote42:43    And for he who is patient and forgives, then that is an indication of strength.

but:
Quote42:39    And those who, when injustice befalls them, they seek justice.
Allah loves those who are doing something active and fight against injustice (in a good way of course)

I try now the third time to post something,  but it seems not to have to be  ;)-... I thank you for your links Youssef,  it touched me very much - I've never thought about this exact statement in 9:72 - All praise belongs to God, may He accept us

QuoteThrough My experiance, I will tell you to Take it from me, at this point of my life, I don't care if i go to hell of heaven, because i think i would rather support God Almighty unconditionally. God states that his approval is greater than being in heaven (9:72), and so shouldn't we all strive to be God's dedicated unconditional servants?
