This page could be for group prayer/invocations/du'a
you could just tell us your problem/hardships etc, and we could just pray for you

Asking others to pray for you..." (2:61,68,69,70)
Asking others to pray for your forgiveness (12:97)
Asking forgiveness for others (4:64, 60:4)

"Fear not those who can kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear the one who can destroy both the soul and the body in hell." (Matthew 10:28)

Shalom Aleikhem,

Let me see if I got it right.

You have modeled prayer as something quantitative. You also have modeled the acceptance of a prayer by God to be directly proportional to the magnitude of the prayer. So, according to your hypothesis, we all could combine and increase the intensity of the prayer and push it up the priority list of God ?

Explain as much as you can. :)

Though I am not pro- any kind of prayer, in terms of quantum darwinism, a large group of people meditating or praying peacefully at the same time should result in propagation of peaceful wavefunctions.
''from the purlieus of some inhabited city, we bring you, a fervent mindist''

Is this not intercession?  Can we pray for others?

Peace be with you as well,
Well from experience, i myself know that Group prayer is achieving.
if many people ask for the same thing, would that not be more powerful than one person asking for it?

Lena
The children of Israel Asked Moses to pray for them multiple times (2:61,68,69,70)
Yes there would be intercession, as long as one is alive.
Dead saints and prophets can't intercede anymore since they're dead and unresponsive

That was exactly my question. How did you come up with that assumption ? You are assuming a direct proportionality between the number of people praying and the acceptance of the prayer. But, how would you validate this model ?

Salaam Yousef       Thanks for your post. I have never really understood about intercession. So does intercession mean praying for someone else who is dead (such as a family member, friend etc)?  Is it Ok if we pray for people who are are alive ? Can we pray to God and ask that God guide or forgive people who are non believers? It's my understandingg that praying to dead saints or prophets is idol worship rather than intercession - is that correct?

I would think intercession would be for those who are ALIVE, not for the dead.
Yes, you could ask for forgiveness for someone or just pray for someone.
You might have overlooked my citations in the original post, here is a revised version and added things

*Children of Israel asking Moses to pray for them (2:61,68,69,70)
*Children of Israel Asking their father to ask for forgiveness for them (12:97)
*Prophet Muhammed Hypothetically Asking forgiveness for others 4:64,
*Abraham promising his father that he will ask for forgiveness 60:4)
*The angels ask for forgivness for believers (40:7, 42:5)
*We are told not to ask forgiveness for the idol worshipers 9:113
*Asking Dead prophets/messengers/saints for  intercession is FUTILE, partly because they are dead, and unresponsive and immobile. They cannot help you. (16:21, 28:65-6)

well i could derive the Quantity prayer from the Jesus's Teachings
"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. (Matthew 18:19)
