Few days ago, a man called karadaoui , in jazeerah TV from an arab country was on TV , had few questions from TV viewers, one guy from Jordan Asked :
Can we look for matn (content) and not sanad'chain of narration) so we can correct the content that looks xrong? ,; his answer was NO , how can we correct sahih (what is correct)
Strange from a sunni scholar, meaning even if it contradicts the quran, it still sahih !!!!!!!!!!
the best of alla , he said,  it's over, people worked hard , made the sahih and closed .
VERY VERY STRANGE , a scholar who is the highest level among sunni scholars

another point, why did this guy made the call? maybe he realised something is wrong with hadiths, or he confronted quran people, or he is a quran person himself

Most western scholars commonly say content of Hadith played no part or very little part in the question of authenticity. This seems to be, for the most part, true. However, it has been noted that some hadith compilers did reject Hadith based on their own opinion of the content, and some compilers have short sections or notes on content of some hadith they consider false.
Jonathon Brown provides a perfectly clear and simple explanation as to why content did not play a major role in the so-called "science of hadith". He says if hadith X had isnad Y, and hadith Z had isnad Y, and if either hadith X or Z were shown to have false content or contradicted The Quran etc then the other could not be considered authentic, to expose this flaw causes critical damage to the isnad system, because they both had the same isnad. He says this would effectively destroy their system.

Bear in mind, pro-Hadith advocates at the time were arguing against those who rejected the authority of Hadith, thus to expose such a flaw would have resulted in destruction of their position. Best to keep it quiet, keep content checking to a minimum  ;)

what i don't like is power put in hands of these "scholars" as if they know everything and we shouldn't even think for ourselves.

i'm surprised why nobody ever asks if hadith were so important why weren't they compiled during prophets life,
why didn't any of his close friends or family see it as important as compiling the quran to gather all hadith, since they were with him there wouldn't be any unauthentic hadith... but they didn't see it as important, yet some other guy 200 years later 1000miles away gets an idea to do it c-c-c...

That's interesting.

All he said was it's sahih must be accepted?

seems like people are challenging thoughts.. good :)
We all have blind spots.
Follow your heart but take your brain with you.
ambiguity is there for a reason, why do you think?
We're all different, so how can we all be equal?

I can't stand Qaradawi. Some of his fatawa are actually not bad, others are full of hair-raising nonsense. In general he's extremely conservative, a mysogynist and constantly bashing the West. Why he is so famous is a mystery to me.
:nope:

One thing they keep implementing in the minds of people,  do u desobey the prophet? that's their arme,  people don't realise that if i desobey quaradaoui, i'm not desobeying the peophet, amazing play game, i spoke to a sunni friends who has an open mind, he said it is true , alll what the coran says it's true,  but what if we're wrong?  it took him time to feel comfortable rejecting hadiths that contradict the quran, than , he's still confused about hadiths that cannot be verified, when i tell him reject what can't be verified, he says what if we'wrong

It's a brainwash, not easy for someone to come out of it, happened to me though, they educate everyone since childhood that the scholars have the authority of better understanding, i use to believe that until i saw in this forum many people make sense better than quuradaoui and his company

By the way, quradaoui supported blowing oneself in jihad

I know. He also says that homosexual people and adulterers should be stoned to death, that women's private parts are "ordinarily disgusting to man" and that he "personally supports" circumcision of girls.

Now I believe that quradaoui is ,  or an ignorant who is taking advantage of the sunnis's ignorance making money and enjoying a life of a famous person,  or he is a satanic person juste like the ancients

I never thaught a person can transgress against allah specially if he's "endowed with knowlege". i never thagut people like thses exists, i always thaught of myself as a big sinner because of the drinks i had and night clubs and all.... i always seen them as saits,

It sounds like when a child does something wrong and tries to hide it from their parents. Answering very quickly and insisting that what they're saying should just be accepted.

Hm, does anyone know if FGM is also supported in hadith? If not how do the so called scholars justify that?

No, it's not. There are a few ahdadeeth that indicate that it might have been practiced at the time of the prophet; but first of all they are all weak, and secondly they don't suggest that the prophet actually supported this practice. Scholars who claim it is "Islamic" rely on those ahadeeth, and they also use arguments that have nothing to do with Qur'an or ahadeeth at all.

You can find a detailed overview about those ahadeeth and scholars' opinions here. (Sorry for linking to another forum, that text is the most comprehensive one I've come across so far, but the original site where it had been posted is offline now.)
