I still fail to see God's problem with my method. Many people expressed their own personal issues, which is their opinion at the most. Like I"ve mentioned to brother Abdalquran, we are using various translation, it is not just free-minds translation. I started off using free-minds translation simply because it was an easy read, then with everyone's comment, I realized it is much better to use many different translation. So that's what we're doing.

FYI, I already hold a massive quran study group. If you are ever in the area, and would like to attend, send me a message.

I"m very active. I hope to open a quran only center. I'm gathering the resources & preparing myself to do so.

I have a major exam coming up. Please pray for me.  I will need about 2 months away from everyone on the forum & home & masjid to do this. I'll be back either mid June or July. Thank you all for your input. Peace.  :sun:

Friend... (Since you're a muslimah), do you want to take a huge loan out with the god and expect to repay it? If not then I shall not trouble you with a prayer.

Mashallah on your quran study group and activity. If only I could be part of it. :'(
Masalam

P.S. I am a muslim. Do you love the quran?

I am not your brother. Unless you're offering me your mother's milk.

Quran 9:71 refer to it.

As for loan... that's in regards to if I pray for you, and you know that I prayed for you. And you don't do anything for allah for that prayer... then you will get your stuffing taken.

Unless you understand the fine print, I'm not going to pray for you, but perhaps proof read your prayer, and suggest a better one and you can do that prayer.

I'm sorry FAR. I take it back. Would you mind explaining 49:10? I thought this verse allows me to refer to males as brother-in-faith. So I wouldn't have to necessarily offer you my mother's milk?My arabic is very limited, so I would appreciate your clarification.

I did tell them I have my own agenda which is to get these kids to read the quran in English.

So why don?t you use the Khan and Hilali translation which is closest to the sunnah which they follow? Answer: because your agenda is against their agenda.

QuoteYes, I consider myself a monotheist,it doesn't mean it's true. Meaning, until God's judgement comes, you never really know. I spend a lot of time thinking abot school, that could very well be consider shirk. It is not my place to tell them what they are or are not. But yes, as someone looking from the outside, I can see the obvious polytheism.

That?s fine but with such an attitude, they would never let you teach Quran to their kids if they knew..

Quote
Okay. Obviously, you recognized I am teaching the interpretation of the quran. This is common knowledge known to us and sunni?s. We all know there is no such thing as literal translation whether it be Arabic or any other language. If it makes  you feel better, I will refer to the INTERPRETATION of the Quran so you can be at ease.

Don?t worry about my ease. Worry about what a horrible imputation Quranists would suffer when the people find they?ve been decieved.

Quote
Why would they not approve of the interpretation of the Quran? Also, you are under the assumption I am using ONLY free-minds quran, I am not. Students have various translation ranging from free-minds to Oxford to Yusuf Ali. Would it make a difference if I told you we abandoned the free-minds interpretation of the quran and are using other Interpretation of the quran? I have no problem doing this, if  you give me a valid reason to do so.

Here?s a reason: the very PILLAR of sunni islam (the ritual prayers) is denied by the free-minds translation which calls it ?connection?. You need more evidence than THAT?

QuoteYou still have not shown me how I am ?cheating? them by encouraging them to read the INTERPRETATION of the Quran? Why does it matter what I believe in? I?m not holding up a God Alone sign or in anyway injecting my own opinion & views.

Sigh?you?re teaching them an interpretation of the Quran which UNDERMINES their interpretation. If you don?t get why that?s problematic, then I got nothing more to say.

The mumin (masculine term) are one brotherhood (masucline term).

According to that verse, you could only by my brother. It ultimately refers to the masculines as one brotherhood. Ultimately that would suggest the muminati are one sisterhood.

Such an understanding above makes sense to me, as it agrees with quran 9:71.

http://corpus.quran.com/wordbyword.jsp?chapter=49&verse=10

Verse 49:9 refers to two parties fighting... brothers and sisters in a family tend to fight. That wouldn't be productive for any community if people were like "men! they're so lame" or "screw you slag...".

Imagine it for a moment. The muslims and muslimahs as friends... and then as siblings. What brings more peace..? And what makes sense as according to the quranic verses on marriage and male and female interaction (quran 24:30-31, 2:235, etc). You decide.

Why are you as someone who does not accept hadiths so aggressive against her, and I not like you find her work to be as the god willed.

Peace madhoshi04,
I have been reading your thread with interest and would like to mention something that you might be able to relate to.  I came to an understanding to follow the Quran alone a year and a half ago and I was so happy.  I wanted to share the truth with everyone in my family but they thought I had lost the right way.  I got ostracized and struggled with loneliness for a year.  In one of my Friday loneliness sessions   I realized that cutting off relations from everyone and calling them mushrikeen and kafirs was not the right way.  A lot of Sunnis, Shiites are only following what their parents followed.  There is still hope to help them see the right way.  So I started going back to the masjid and praying with them.  We must get out of this mentality of segregation if we truly want to further the truth.  I am getting married to a Sunni girl in a month and I have known her for six months now.  She is religious but doesn't know why she does what she does.  She asked me about my views on Islam.  On Solaa I told her I do not agree with how solaa is interpreted because to me it is an ambigious word which could mean a lot of things.  The same with the five pillars of Islam.  It is not black and white.  The important thing is to have your heart right.  I always tell her to question things and not take peoples' word for it.  I also encourage her to read the Quran to arrive at a personal understanding of Islam.  I read the Yusuf Ali translation myself and that alone was enough to spur me to investigate discrepancies between the life I was living and the Quran.  Extremism in any form is dangerous.  I would never go and worship the stone idol in Mecca because I know the truth.  But, it is not my place to tell someone that this is an idol because it is upto the person to see the truth.  You can tell them as much as you want but unless they see it for themselves then will always be blind.  If ever my soon to be wife asks me about the Kaaba I will tell her my personal views are different and that she should look in the Quran for answers.  I will tell my kids the same thing.  Truth stands out from error.  We cannot guide only God guides. I think you are doing a noble thing by going out and making these kids question things!

Salam everyone,

I wanted to share some wonderful news with you all. Recently, I've started attending a sunni mosque with my own agenda. At this particlar masjid, they teach students to read arabic.

Be careful! I pray Allah protects you from the inevitable murder in their hearts if they discover you.
