I would suppose it would be the latter since one would have to gather statistics on such things. For example...damn can't think of any right now, but I hope you get the idea.  :wink:

Oh okay, got one, not quite an example, but let's say someone wanted to know if it was possible to dive 700 feet without scuba gear and just do so on plain skill and experience. Those who achieved it out of a total number would give a slim statistical margin. Lets say 5 out of 900 people accomplished the task. So the measure of the possibility is the result of all of these repeated tasks.  :)

joe bro, it wasn't really about makin a choice between the two, those were just two ways i worded the concept i am trying to put forth.
