Adding t my post: If a contract is needed - which currently I do not think - then it would refer to marrying them. If a contract is not needed, then this refers to letting them go. To whom or why is the question. Perhaps marrying a poor believer? Also is a dowry required for marrying MMA? This is also relevant.

She accused me of raping (and lying). Does that not warrant 80 lashes according to most "Quran Alone Muslims?" I dont think her testimonies should ever be accepted again if that is the case.

"Donkeys" is in reference to:

62:5 The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and did not apply it in their daily lives is that of the donkey that carries a load of books. (Evil is the example of people who denied in action/denied God’s signs. God does not guide people who choose to do wrong.)

Thus, there are donkeys and doers.

So calling someone an animal who, according to most people's interpretation of 24:4 deserves 80 lashes and whose testimony should never be accepted again is worse than the rightful 80 lashes? Hmmm... Also stay on topic and if you want to discuss personal matters, PM!

It depends on 'cultural lenses' that one is using.
Reference to donkey, if viewed from ancient israelites perspective, is a compliment.

Rejoice greatly, O daughter Zion!

humble and riding on a donkey,
    on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Donkey is a symbolic animal for : humility, honesty, steadfast / firmness, peacefulness.

The verse above is the prophecy about Messiah, the prophesied messiah ruler will posses the traits of donkey: humility, honesty, steadfast / firmness, peacefulness. And he will have a 'partner' which also possess the same qualities (the foal of a donkey)

Donkey is a compliment!!
When viewed from ancient israelites cultural context, "Donkey that carries a load of books" is a compliment!
The donkey carry so much weight without complaint... walking albeit slowly but steadfastly to reach it's destination.

If changed to: "The horse that carries strong warrior." The narratives will become negative...
Horse symbolize speed, pride, aggressiveness, hostility and warfare.

Note: A US political party now symbolize themselves with donkey.
A symbol for humility, steadfast / strong willed and peaceful.

No brother, I do not have anything negative to say about donkeys either.

I am sure according to the context and the tone of the post implied by me, it did not read as positive.
It was actually confirmed further in the conversation.

However, the example of those who carry the scripture-Any scripture/knowledge- (in their head /life) but fail to understand how to apply them in their life, is like a donkey carrying treasure/valuables. The donkey carries weight as far as it is concerned whether it is rubbish or valuables it is the same to the donkey. It makes no difference to his life style.

They are all lawful to marry once they are your MMA! To marry them you have to make them your MMA first.

First make an oath of protection and support with them, then marry them!

4:24 says the opposite:

And
independent/self-protected women* except ma malakat aymanukum
decree of Allah upon you
and are lawful to you what (is) beyond that.

What is beyond the ones mentioned in 4:23 AND ma malakat aymanukum in 4:24
are all women including the independent/self protected women;
you are allowed to marry any one of them
but you are not allowed to marry ma malakat aymanukum. 

YOUR malakat ayman are an exception
because they are members of YOUR FAMILY (fatayatukum),
you are their PROTECTING FAMILY.

4:25 confirms this decree of Allah:

And for whoever of those among you unable to marry independent/self protectec women
there are ma malakat aymanukum.

The ones who are allowed to marry ma malakat aymanukum are not YOU
because you are rich enough to undertake their protection (they are YOUR malakat ayman);
plus, because you are able to marry independent/self-protected women.

The ones who arre allowed to marry your malakat ayman are the poor ones in your society
with your PERMISSION,
as you are the PROTECTING FAMILY of your malakat ayman.

It is also clear that MMA refers only to women.

In 24:33 MMA refers to men:

...waallatheena yabtaghoona alkitaba min ma malakat aymanukum
fakatiboohum

The pronoun hum is masculin.
