Thema: Why Me??

Enjoy the story and enjoy life without asking a lot of questions....all will be revealed in the right timing...

Why Me?

Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983.

From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed:

"Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease"?

To this Arthur Ashe replied:

The world over -- 50,000,000 children start playing tennis, 5,000,000 learn to play tennis, 500,000 learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grand slam, 50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals, When I was holding a cup I never asked GOD "Why me?". And today in pain I should not be asking GOD "Why me?"

Happiness keeps u Sweet, Trials keep u Strong, Sorrow keeps u Human, Failure Keeps u Humble, Success keeps u Glowing, But only God Keeps u Going.

but didn't he win the cup because of him? it was his hard work that got him to the final.
the AIDS wasn't his fault. I think "why me?" is a fair question there.

Well we do not know for sure how he got contracted with AIDS. Who knows maybe it was because of himself as well.

Does God care if some body gets a illness or not?

Peace to all,

I think he does care salgan, otherwise why would he send us signs and tests and trials, even an illness is a trial and i think Arthur Ashes answer is perfect, he could have said i was only a winner ou of the millions who tried because i am better or tried harder but answer alone is not enough, do you really not think that God elevates some over others in order to try them,

I admire Arthur and his humble faith,

no, it was the result of someone else's actions.
Our actions do affect others. If I am a serial killer, my victims didn't incur their deaths, I just killed them.
Sometimes we do get into situations that we had nothing to do with, but that doesn't mean that everything we've done had nothing to do with us. We can't be sure of what we will experience, but we always have the choice between being happy and being miserable.

Someone made an article about this on site, but I do not remember where it is. Anyway, I according to the article God only knows the options we can choose, yet it is up to us to pick the right ones.

yes our actions affect others and as far as we knowingly or just carelessly did wrong i guess it counts on the balance. But sometimes there really is none of that and people are just victims of circumstance. Think of the many people infected with STD by there only partner...well, they did choose the wrong one though

jankren
i'd say God not only knows the options we can choose but even knows which one we choose. But well this is on another  thread and bro tanveer had an - imo -  beautiful explanation about that - time travel aso...

no i wouldn't say a game, rather a test or a school, but in a way your interrogation still fits

kurt
i agree with you
