Peace all,

I know there is already a thread on the war on Lebanon but I felt this deserved its own thread.

For those who have a weak stomach, don't click on the link. It has pictures of what the war has done to Lebanon and its innocent civilians.

I am so frustrated and angry and sad that the world has to be this way. I can't explain the tons of emotions that are streaming through me. We all know that so many civilians are dying but it's a different matter altogether when you see the carnage up close in color.

Horrible. Just horrible.

I just saw this today after visiting the guardian talk threads. It made me physically sick. I'm with you. It's terrible.

Peace,

I believe this war recently instigated by Israel is purely for water control.

Israel bombed a number of water drilling trucks during the past week which I found to be quite strange...Now they have announced that the population of southern Lebanon should move north of the `Litani` river for their own protection. My view is that Israel will push north until it controls the river and then allow the UN to draw a new buffer zone beyond this point (for Israel`s security).

Peace Layth,

Very observant, brother. I saw that those drilling trucks were bombed and was wondering what was up with that, especially, since it happened in a christian neighborhood.

Salam Alaikom,

Water can be one reason but there is many more...

First of all, this invasion was planed for a long time. They think it planed for one year since Hariri was killed, the premiareminister of Lebanon with a carbomb. Then they made Syria out of Lebanon. This made the country very weak and without a power.
The act of Hezbollah that they capture two israeli soldiers happend in the sheebahfarms and this part of land don?t belong to Israel. The capture made a reason for Israel to start their invasion.

The reason from Hezbollah was that it is 2000 lebanese people who are in prison i Israel that they want out. Some have been there from the 70?s without a trial, like a Guan tanamo. Israel refuse to realise them and Hezbollah have done this before and succeded with a prison exechange. This was the thought of this action by Hezbollah, not a full war.

The reason by Israel is much bigger than just water. Its even suported by the USA who now is sending "smart" bombs to Israel that will hit 40 meters under the ground. USA voted NO! in the UN for a ceasefire becouse they waiting for this bombs so they can strike harder on Hezbollah. Today Israel cant defeat Hezbollah on the ground, they are a good trained gerillaarmy smarter and more brave than IDF. They don?t fear death, actually they would be proud to die in battle. They have many tricks they fool IDF with. One is that they have dressed up in the same uniforms to fool them in battle. One day 4 israeli soldiers died in "friendly fire" that means they shooted by their own. Another thing is that they hit and run and then hide by normal civilians. IDF have a hell in south lebanon and today 40-50 soliders have died til now.

I belive that this is a part of the roadmap to put democraty in the middleeast. If they take all Lebanon with an international army its easy to hit Syria from two front. Today they have destroyed all Lebanon, all bridges, all airports, streets, important houses. They have damage all infrastucture in a land that was just build up. It would have been record this year with 3 miljon tourist and Beirut groving like a flower. This brought money to the country wich is also a threat for Israel. Touristmoney to the country, some of this goes to Hezbollah becouse they are a part of the country.

I think it will be hard for Israel. They cant defeat Hezbollah, it will be like the Talibans. Lebanon will be a battleground for Jihaad and Lebanon who was the port to middleeast will be in ruins for years. Too bad becouse I have many relatives to my wife living in this country that now is burning.

Salam

I think every other motive of Israel comes second to disarming Hezbollah.
