Salaam brother GL

As suggested by you I have opened this thread. Since traditional Islam takes ritual prayer as ibadat so we need to understand root 3bd first and then discuss if ritual prayer is ibadat.

As far as I have known you I like your gentle mannerism and am hopeful that we will in sha's Allah be benefited with this discussion.

Once again my purpose is to learn Quran and not to win or loose.

Lets start with the root 3bd. My understanding so far is that 3bd does not mean worship. It is obeying God by following Quran - not blind following but with understanding and conviction based on thorough reflection and thinking.

Questions/Comments on the Quran / explanation of 43:33

Salaam brothers and sisters

I am trying to understand the meanings of 43:33-35

SAHIH INTERNATIONAL
And if it were not that the people would become one community [of disbelievers], We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Merciful - for their houses - ceilings and stairways of silver upon which to mount
And for their houses - doors and couches [of silver] upon which to recline
And gold ornament. But all that is not but the enjoyment of worldly life. And the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous.

The red part in this translation is extra and is not in original Arabic text but it totally changes the meanings.

It would be appreciated if you could give your understanding of these ayat.

Every translator has used 'yafoona' in 2:237 as feminine plural whereas grammatically it refers to masculine plural. Could anyone please help me understand it?

Recently I read an article in the newspaper about Chris Austin Hadfield, a Canadian Astronaut. He used to orbit our earth in about 90 minutes i.e. 16 times in 24 hours. It means there will be
about 16 fajar (rising of sun) and gharoob (setting of sun) times. How many times we have to establish salah in such situations in the light of Al-Quran?

Salam brothers and sisters
I need your help to understand why there is an "Al" before the haram things in 2:173 and 5:3 whereas no "Al" before the same things declared haram for consumption in 6:145.
