General Issues / Questions / The death
April 07, 2007, 02:04:50 PM
Peace, idolfree, all,

taken from another thread:
Quote from: idolfree1This is why no business should interfere with salaat, we must STOP what we are doing, not keep going and going and going. We mus STOP and reprogram the subcioncious and our dreams and ulltimately our death will reflect how well we did, but most people take this life as play and have no certainty of the end(effect).

idolfree, you have mentioned death very few times as far I am aware.
Could you say something more, what is the death, etc, please?
Rest of the users too, of course if you want to.

Muslim Feminists denounce discriminatory family laws

Conclusions of the Second International Conference of Islamic Feminism
We denounce the discriminatory family laws that are enforced in many countries with a Muslim majority.

We voice our commitment to continue the gender jihad for the recovery of the equalitarian message of Islam, the freedom of interpretation and conscience.

Islamic Feminism is an integral part of the Global Feminist Movement.

We denounce...

Off-Topic / Moderators liability in Germany
August 13, 2006, 01:10:32 PM
Peace

have you read this, in Germany  moderators are liable for content posted on the internet forums.
I think the users should be, not the mods, because, how to read everything?

Peace idolfree, all

Idolfree, you have said many times

truth deals with realtionships, not facts
truth deals with relationships of one thing to the other that can be objectively verified
we shouldn't confuse  facts with Truth (relationship based)
the question has to be stated "the Truth concerning x", then we can find an answer that satisfies that question.

and mentioned many times
objectivity, objective truth

e.g. TRUTH of the relationship of "plugs" and "sockets", the relationship of the earth to the sun

Could you elaborate on this so that it is perfectly clear? more examples or applied to more fields?

Khalil suggests here http://www.free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=5631.msg84656#new a new Health Forum. While it is created or not, I'd like to start a discussion about alternative medicine especially naturopathy and  homeopathy.

Jonny_k says Homeopathy is a fraud http://www.free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=5500.15. Idolfree disagrees with him and mmkhan highly recommends it  http://www.free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=3845.msg49876#msg49876

What do you know and think and have you experienced this medicine?

Forum Suggestions / List of Terms
January 20, 2006, 08:13:24 AM
Peace,

sometimes I miss a vocabulary list available on this site, so thay each time I bump into an Arabic word, I can check it quickly and know the meaning without posting a message just to ask "hey, mquran, is 'musyrikeen' idol worshiper?" for instance.

I know there have plenty of those list on the net but you will know which one is the best whileI had to check five sites to find that yes, that musyrikeen means idol worshipers.

I know too that I should know almost every term after being reading here for so long, but...I don't.

Forum Suggestions / Just Christianity?
January 01, 2006, 05:20:02 PM
Peace,

the site has a forum: "Christianity. What are our feelings towards Christianity and its teachings?"

Why just one religion? What about the others, Sikhism, Jainism, etc? Couldn't it be the forum "What are your feelings about the different religions in the world?" -- for instance.

I know we can start a thread about any of them in the General or Off Topic sections but the fact that Christianity is there, isolated , could make some people think of an opposition between islam-christianity, something that doesn't give the chance to both people to come close but to practice the habit of speaking about how wrong 'the other' is.

Perhaps I am mistaken and the idea was the opposite, to create a room to help to the mutual understanding but I almost never read there some recognition of something good of the other.

Off-Topic / Virgin myth
December 20, 2005, 08:45:38 AM
Peace,

reading the thread "Virgin Birth" reminded me of the presence of that myth in other beliefs during History.

Do you know why has it been given so much importance?

Questions/Comments on the Quran / 4:29
October 03, 2005, 12:30:11 PM
Peace everyone,
4.29 is mentioned in this discussion.
http://www.free-minds.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4170&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

I'd like to know if  you think there is a general agreement about it is referring to suicide, or are there other understandings like what seems from

PICKTHAL: O ye who believe! Squander not your wealth among yourselves in vanity, except it be a trade by mutual consent, and kill not one another. Lo! Allah is ever Merciful unto you.
and
SHAKIR: O you who believe! do not devour your property among yourselves falsely, except that it be trading by your mutual consent; and do not kill your people; surely Allah is Merciful to you.
?
Thanks,
Elena

General Issues / Questions / One use of the verses
September 17, 2005, 07:45:21 AM
Peace,

what do you think of quoting verses of the book to suggest that others are rejecters, unbelievers, wicked or any other negative adjective? Other verses or even the same can be quoted back, thus, I don't think using them as a means of contending against another is one purpose of it.

Forgive Tanveer for choosing your post as example, it is that I read it today. (If I misunderstood, then, I said nothing)
The good thing is that it is happening less and less in the forum.

I think many times that I don't have any right to comment things about the quran, islam or you the members when I was not in the same situations you have been. Thanks for bearing me so well for so long.  :|

From 'Is swine halal' thread
Quote from: "tanveermd"Peace all,

When confronted with a logical and reasonable argument to which PB has no response/refutation, he comes up with the following:

Quote from: "Priest Bokmei"Ahh, more sleight of hand and canards, Tanveer.
(Sept 15, 2005 2:45 pm)

Quote from: "Priest Bokmei"Your analysis is a canard and sleight of hand.
(Sept 11, 2005, 3:10 am)

This response is eerily similar to the response of the disbelievers/rejecters when confronted with the clear revelations:

46:7 And when Our clear revelations are recited to them, those who rejected said of the truth that came to them: "This is evidently magic!"

34:44 And when Our clear revelations were recited to them, they said: "This is but a man who wants to turn you away from what your parents were worshiping." And they also said: "This is nothing but a fabricated lie." And those who disbelieved say of the truth when it has come to them: "This is nothing but evident magic!"
