Some years ago Emanuel Rutte developed a new metaphysical argument for the existence of God.

I recommend to start with the "initial" version before starting with the extended/revised version.
Comprehension of logic or an intuitive feeling for logic is necessary.

Off-Topic / Why did the chicken cross the road?
April 05, 2017, 05:41:09 PM
Ibrahim: She has resided part of her progeny on the other side of the road without vegetation, near the holy house  :'(

Firaun: I will cut off her hands and feet from alternate sides, and I will crucify her on the trunks of the palm trees, and you will come to know which of us is greater in retribution and more lasting!  >:(

Yusuf: Because I saw her ages ago in my dream  :yeah:

"Cleopatra": A refreshment of the eye to me and to thee -- slay her not; maybe she will be useful to us, or we may take her as a pet

Father of Yusuf: Don?t narrate this incident to her sisters or they will plan against her  :voodoo:

Malaikats: She wants to make corruption on the other side, and spill blood, while we praise God?s glory and exalt Him

Harun: Son of my mother, do not grab me by my beard nor by my head , this chicken of Israel overpowered me and nearly killed me  :&

Isa: I create for you from clay the form of a chicken, then I blow into it and it becomes a chicken, with the permission of God, and I heal the blind and the lepers, and give life to the dead with the permission of God, and I prophesize for you what you shall eat and what to store in your homes (extremely :jedi: ). But I do not know what is in this chicken, only He knows the unseen

Meryem: I have vowed an abstinence for the Almighty, so I will not talk today to any of mankind  :ignore:

Musa: She saw a fire, so she said to her chicks: "Stay here, I have seen a fire, perhaps I can bring a piece from it, or find at the fire some guidance  :!

A messenger: Why do you ask me? My only duty was to deliver the message  ???

Nuh: Alone? It was clearly commanded from every sort a pair  :brickwall:

Zekeriya: How can she cross the road when her husband is infertile, and she reached a very old age?   :wow

"Alkihdr": She had no patience with me  :nope:

Dhul Qarnayn: Help me with strength and I will make between you and her a landfill  :muscle:

Sulayman: I will punish her severely, or I will kill her, else she should have a clear excuse   :elektro:

Earth and heavens: We are more concerned if she did it willingly or unwillingly  :&

Dawud: She has wronged you by crossing the road. And many who cross the road take advantage of one another, except those who believe and do good works, and these are very few  :tempt:

Satan: I beautified the other side for her and promised her eternal life  >:D

Hud: O you, worship God; you have no other god but He. you are only inventing lies  :yuck:

Brothers of Jusuf: Why do you not trust us with this chicken? We will take care of her  :eat:

Shu3ayb: Without knowing the exact measurement of the road and the exact weight of the chicken, I can not give you the exact reason  O0

Ayuub: Did she rapidly move with her feet?  :whatever:

Saleh: She is a chicken of God, in her you have a sign. So let her cross God's road freely, and do not harm her, or else a close retribution will take you  :elektro:

God: I know what you do not know  :hail

If you were an American who lives in the US, who will get your vote?
No one is not an option.

edit: Tump is of course Trump  :)
To the mods: Why can't I modify that?

General Issues / Questions / Kafirs
February 05, 2016, 12:16:05 PM
Salaam,

There is one group in the quran where no single verse speaks good about them. This group is known as "KAFIRS".
I took a look at some translations and this is what I found how translators/interpretators translate/interpret this word.
- Unbelievers
- Disbelievers
- Deniers of the truth
- Infidels
- Faithless ones
- Rejecters of Faith
- Rejecters
With these translations/interpretations, not only does the quran come over as a brutal book but in a lot of verses these interpretations do no make sense.
For example Iblies is a kafir and translators insist that Iblies is an unbeliever.
Also translation/interpretation of "kafir" should not be a word with a negation, like "UNbelievers" because there is simply no negation in the word kafir.
"Infidels" is imo also badly chosen because there are a lot of good "infidels".

So what does kafir mean if it is a word that is so bad that there is not a single positive thing in the quran about it?
I think the only word which is always bad, is evil it self. Is there anyone who can think of something positive in evil?
So imo kafir means something like: "evil/evil ones/bad ones/etc etc etc"
I think a lot of verses wil make a lot of sense when you take this interpretation.

What do you think?

Salaam,

I have been on a atheist-forum and there was a section with blunders in The Quran.
One of the blunders in The Quran is the famous verse were the sun is setting at/in a hot spring or something similar.
Here are my thoughts on it, I might be totally wrong.

18:86 Hatta itha balagha maghriba alshshamsi wajadaha taghrubu fee AAaynin hamiatin wawajada AAindaha qawman qulna ya tha alqarnayni imma an tuAAaththiba waimma an tattakhitha feehim husnan

If you look at the structure of the red part it's the same as the red part in 91:11

91:11  فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّـهِ نَاقَةَ اللَّـهِ وَسُقْيَاهَا
91:11 Faqala lahum rasoolu Allahi naqata Allahi wasuqyaha

In 91:11 "  وَسُقْيَاهَا " does not refer to "Allahi" but to "naqata Allahi".

Thus it looks to me that "وَجَدَهَا" in 18:90 does not refer to alshshamsi but to "maghriba alshshamsi", 2 different things.

btw same for
18:90 Hatta itha balagha matliAAa alshshamsi wajadaha tatluAAu AAala qawmin lam najAAal lahum min dooniha sitran

Prophets and Messengers / Dawood and his test
January 04, 2014, 05:50:46 PM
Salaamun alaykum,

Whenever I read or heard the following verses it never made any sense to me, but alhamdullilah today by "accident" I was reading those verses and Allah gave me a  :! .

fm translation, translation is not important here.
38:21 Did the news come to you of the disputing party who came over into the temple enclosure?
38:22 When they entered upon David, he was startled by them. They said: "Have no fear. We are two who have disputed, and one has wronged the other, so judge between us with the truth, and do not wrong us, and guide us to the right path."
38:23 "This is my brother and he owns ninety-nine lambs, while I own one lamb; so he said to me: "'Let me take care of it' and he pressured me."
38:24 He said: "He has wronged you by asking to combine your lamb with his lambs. And many who mix their properties take advantage of one another, except those who believe and do good works, and these are very few." And David guessed that We had tested him, so he sought forgiveness from his Lord, and fell down kneeling, and repented.
38:25 So We forgave him in this matter. And for him with Us is a near position, and a beautiful abode.
38:26 O David, We have made you a successor on the earth. Therefore, you shall judge among the people with the truth, and do not follow desire, lest it diverts you from the path of God. Indeed, those who stray off the path of God will have a severe retribution for forgetting the Day of Reckoning.

I never understood the red part. In what was Dawood tested and why did he sought forgiveness for his mistake?

What do you think?

Salaam,
Bender
