Peace. I have just seen a doctor and a nurse and because I wasn't tuning away from them, because I kept you.g to the appointments and all they have agreed to not force me to take the medication.

I sugested to them that I euphoria maybe see them weekly and they agreed. I haven't been this happy in a long time all thanks to Gog.

Praise be to Allah, lord if the worlds.

Thanks

My dear Ervin! Glad for the good news. I can only pray that you will get better and better.

Just don't burden yourself too hard with your past, OK? Don't you think God is the one who is the most understanding of you? I believe you're a good person, Ervin. And God knows more than I do.

Stay in peace, bro :)

Peace Joel,

Even so, the word used has to fit the structure used in the verse concerned.  If shahr is month, how does one witness a month?

Dude, that's easy. Just look at the calendar ;D

Btw, seriously, Joel, you should also take a serious look at the word Shawm itself, instead of just following the generally assumed meaning of "fasting".

I think it is about conformity and unity.  Fasting can be done anytime.  But there is something about the unifying of a group that happens when you participate in something like Ramadan together.

The practice of fasting across the world/religions/traditions/history surely has a lot to do with "conformity". Do you however really think that fasting is the most "unifying" act human beings can perform?

Anyway, war is among the first things I would think of when someone speaks about "scorching heat" (I also imagined a majestic mushroom cloud).

Personally I took a much simpler view of Salaat than what Dr Qamar Zaman suggests in his works. His "Truth About Saum" work is intriguing and like Hope4 I found some of the ideas presented very plausible. However as you pointed out, his work isn't well-grounded with consistent cross-reference--makes it hard to defend his ideas academically (and unfortunately he often presents his ideas in absolutish remarks).

Now it baffles me as to why "believers" are specifically told to abstain from nourishment instead of indifference toward obvious enduring real-world problems such as [insert cases of inhumanity nearest to your area].

If knowing so much about the messenger is so beneficial, why don't we go and excavate Mecca/Medina along with his grave for archaeological findings and scientific research on them ?

:! Great Idea! I'm sure the Emirates of the Arabian will like it!

...no?

Stay centered(wusta) :o)

Nicely put. As a side note, "guerrilla" meditation throughout the day is an excellent way to keep ourselves centered. Dawn and dusk might be the best time to "get deeper" regularly, but if a quick and simple balancing act that is done every now and then helps us with our life, then why not? Ritual or not, so long as one finds balance with Salat, it's good.
