I just wanted to bring back my view on 'salat', written a time ago as i see that it is still taking a good part of your discussions.

peace ayman, zlatan and all,

happy to see you still arround here. i just wanted to add the follwoing link as a comprehensive reply to all that has been so far asigned to code 19 as a miracle. it is a result of fierce debates that took place few years ago with most of the proponents as wellas opponents of the same issue. as i did not intend after all those days fo debating to enter this debate again, the link is here for all those who were not there then , to give them insight of the debate over the 'code'. some of the main debators are still arround and some have added up to both sides so i hope this will help.

peace to you all.

peace zlatan and thanks for the reply.

ti is very informative adn helps to get an insight in the Book. what i woudl liek to add is that and i am pretty confident that without a complete approach to the whole book as well as a high sense of real life problems.

i think we ahev been missing the SOCIAL accent of the book as if it has to deal with dead and not with living people.

when we have this in mind then we can see what could 'masjid', salat' and other concepts are all about.

so when you take the book from this point of view then you do not have even to question its authenticity. you will simply see that it is a practical life guide that encompasses the inner and the outer of our being. do you get my point? i hope you do.

thanks again and get back to you soon in a private message with new developments in my research.

Questions/Comments on the Quran / 48:29 a false verse?
« on: February 03, 2005, 05:09:56 PM »
dear all, peace

mquran, zlatan, i do not know if  you can still recall my answer to this very questioning regarding the attributes adn their use for human and God adn ...ect.

this issue was raised by ( i think his name was aziz) and it took place on teh quran study by brother joe i think. i remeber stating most fi not all of the attibutes in the book that are sued for men as well as for God.

these are but clear demonstrations of manipulation and/or ignorance.

the language is a material used by human and developed by human. teh work rahim was nothing knew to the arasb fo the time of revelation and they used it as a word meaning what ti means.  even the word 'god(s) is used by God to refer to humans! adn that is simply because GOD is a concept rather can a physical thing.

so, pls save your energy and time and focus on serious study.

General Issues / Questions / What does Islam mean to you
« on: November 21, 2004, 08:34:33 PM »
peace and welcome to you carrie,

this is the view, i think, of most of those on this forum. i may only add this, or put the same in additional expression saying that the Book, God's revelations actually provides a life orientation, a way of life where rules adn regulations set for a specific time and place may not nessecerily be ideal for other times and places. the most important thing is the Orientation we adopt to live in accordance with. Rulesa re lately formualted and regulations to run a society are established step by step and according to community needs but are based on the Principles of the Orienation the members of the society have accetped.

this establishing step by step is actaully a refelction of the evolvement of the society itself (or the individual). but we should not forget NO FORCING is acceptable.

peace to you all,

Questions/Comments on the Quran / Kana Min Al-Jinni
« on: August 02, 2004, 05:57:16 PM »
peace gazzali, all

Please forgive me my late replies. as i mentioned i do not have regular access to the net os it is like 'when it happens' :( .

I agree with sister marie that 'jin' (hidden invisible) and 'ins' (visible) are two seperate creatures. The Book states that they are created from different materials. forgive me i can not recall the nember of the verse chapter.

brother gazzali i think i did not get your point in your first reply to me in this thread. I think that iblis (not a name but a meaning) belonged to the malaika. His refusal to obey 'transferred' him to become among those  damned and lost.

I do not think that we can ever get to 'touch' this subject with our factual senses but we can indeed 'feel' it. I think no one can deny the existence of 'invisible forces'. Ours is to accept that and to take the right attitude towards them. You can always have someone who is more powerful than you but when you take the Most Powerful as your allay then you can not lose.

And yes brother gazzali, my name is Mirghani Hamed. It was just on the e-mail you sent to me 8) . So, i some times use my initials but most of the brothers and sisters know my identity :D

peace to you and God blessings.

Questions/Comments on the Quran / Kana Min Al-Jinni
« on: July 27, 2004, 06:10:36 PM »
My dear brother gazzali, peace to you,

i have finally managed to get to your profile so now i can send a reply giving what i think on 'kana minal jini'.

I personally translate this phrase as " (who) is of the hidden. Most people translate 'kana' always as was which is wrong. To get this clearly look at the phrase ' wa kana allahu ala kuli sha'in qadeera'. If 'kana' is to be translated as was then we will have to translate the above phrase, which is often repeated in many verses, into: "and God was capabale for all things.!' , as if he is no longer capable which is wrong. the Mighty is capable for all at all times and places.

So, the correct understanding of the word 'kana' is that it is like the case of present perfect in English. it relates past with present and extends to the future. So, God was, is , and will always be capable for all things.

And yes, iblis (damned) belonged to the malaika (forces, authorities)) and was driven away as he refused to obey God's command. It is just as the case with another group of creatures, the humans, they can be taken as close allays to God when they obey and can too be damned and lost when they disobey.

There is a lot that can be written on this very intersting subject but time  does not help me these days...

peace to you and i hope i was of a help.
