Hadith Discussions / Re: Your favorite hadiths.

Just found this one when reading about Istikarah on behalf of a friend.

A women is always mixed in with an aminal.. WTH!

The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: If one of you buys a maid-servant then he should say: ?O Allah, I ask of You her good and the goodness within her and the goodness that You have made her inclined towards. And I take refuge with You from the evil within her and the evil that You have made her inclined towards, and he should ask for blessings. And if one of you buys a camel then he should touch the top of its hump and supplicate for blessings and say likewise. [Aboo Dawood v.2, no. 2155, Ibn Majah and al-Haakim] And in another narration: If one of you marries a woman or buys a maid-servant, he should touch her forelock and mention Allah's Name ? the Mighty and Sublime ? and pray for the blessings.

Therefore, it is prescribed to put one's hand on the front of what he has acquired, mentioning Allah's Name and then praying for blessing with the afore-mentioned Dua, and likewise on similar matters such as buying a car and other than that.

Salam Berat,

Welcome to our forum, this place has taught me a lot. I am Muslim and yet reject hadith, as well, just can't trust them in my opinion. This forum and it's people have been a blessing, even the posts with a different view, I have learned from. I am very active in my masjid, so I come here often to read. I am not confident to post as some others here, but I have grown a lot! May God increases your knowledge and shade you with his love and mercy on the day of judgement. - Ameen

Sunni/Shia Religion / Re: WHAT IS ALL THIS DEVIATION!?

It's okay guys, just let the chimp go and eat his bananas. Allah is the final judge. If someone really cared about "saving" others, they would not waste time on here with arrogant remarks. If you wanted to "save" people, you would start by doing good, feeding the hungry, spending time with the poor, visiting the sick. You would spend your money on helping those who have less, not on how much booty you can get- just ridiculous. These good actions spread the Message of Quran, not belly aching about who believes what, it is not that difficult.

BTW- Taking care of orphans is not silly, it is called humanity and we are to take care of others.

General Issues / Questions / Re: Still stuck with Traditional "Islam"?

I agree with what you are saying. I got looks shot at me when I said I prayed in English, you thought I killed a man!

Sometimes I find myself using those terms out of Sometimes I say God, and sometimes Allah.

One a side note there is a good book I read called "the First Muslim" by Lesley Hazelton. I really enjoyed it, you might want to check it out. It is more historical point of view than a devotional book. She is an agnostic Jew.

Enjoying this post very much. Is there more?

General Issues / Questions / Re: What Is Evil?
« on: November 29, 2013, 03:31:46 PM »
I feel evil and stupid are like apples and oranges.

EX: Stupid is the women who does not leave an abusive husband (this is the view of most, although there are other issues as to why she may or may not leave, just using it as an example)

Evil is the man who feels it is okay to beat her.

Evil to me is one who gains pleasure from the pain of another. At some point in life we have all been evil. Some more than others.  I don't understand evil, how a man could beat a child till it dies, a person just going into a store and killing someone, or torturing one due to belief systems, that cause no harm to others. They seem to get a sense of joy and gratification to see another hurt. Perhaps they are hurting. Although I don't see this as an excuse to hurt another. They are mentally ill. Perhaps they are prone to evil entities feeding off their energy, but lack spiritual protection or the ability to fight those impulses. I took a class on demonology, it roughly spoke on the evil energies, it was pretty interesting. I would study more on exorcisms and demonology but it scares the crap out of me  :&

Always thought provoking Jafar :)

There is also a link for the Avesta. If interested I can dig it up in my files.

Thanks for that link, can't wait to read it. Tonight, with a nice cup of Hot Cocoa  :yay:
