Salam

Who wrote these, was it Pazuzu? I had the first two sent to me on an email address I can't access anymore.

I remember tspeaking with the author and he wasn't sure whether he wanted to complete the series or not. Were the 5 planned articles ever completed in full or did he stop after the first two? Does any one have a link for all 5 if they were all completed?

General Issues / Questions / very worried
« on: July 07, 2013, 03:19:26 PM »
ok here I go...sorry if the poor grammar makes it difficult, or if things sound incoherent, I am writing all of the following off the top of my head and out of feelings of desperation

DISCLAIMER: I know that my problems are not as bad as starving poor orphaned children in third world countries, and I do not wish to insult/anger those who's life experience was much worse than mine by relating to them experiences of mine which are nothing compared to what they've been through

after a very dumb incident last night that was an eye opener for me I have decided to quit drinking again (I quit from 2005 to 2010 but started again with the intent not to overdo it...which apparently never worked out)

my problem is that I am an aggressive drunk, and I am afraid of legal consequences as well as negative effects on my own health and safety and that's why I have quit drinking

growing up I was a maladjusted person, didn't have lots of friends or a huge social circle, always had a knack for hanging out with the wrong crowd...as a result I have grown up to be very mistrustful and bitter about many things...maybe I'm a little too sensitive as well...alcohol abuse as a teenager also earned me a young offender record, most of my arrests were alcohol fueled crimes, mostly fighting and petty theft...nothing like murder or rape or drug trafficking

sometimes I think that the reason I fell in with the wrong crowd, is because the right crowd did not want to burden themselves in being associated with someone with mental health issues like mine...I guess some would describe that as selfish, but I do see where they are coming from...I know some types who are worse than me and I don't want to associate with them either so this makes me feel guilty but also helps me understand

I always wish I had an older sibling/role model to look up to, to teach me things and help me out in life...I've felt like a lost soul for quite a bit of my life

I have hereditary clinical depression. I stopped taking my medication for a while and I THOUGHT everything was ok but apparently that was because the sunlight was replacing my medicine...then I had a quarter life crisis

I have contemplated suicide but the thought of my mother crying is something that makes me feel very terrible

also if I was to commit suicide I would only do it after I made sure all my debts were paid off, and I had enough money to leave behind for a burial/funeral etc...basically not expire myself in a way that would burden society...and also in a way in which I would ruin/disrupt people's lives (i.e. jumping into busy traffic) and or place a financial burden on the state to remove my body, clean the area, identify my next of kin and other associated costs

I know that Allah says not to commit suicide, and Allah does not place any burden on a soul more than it can bear, but I also know that Allah is most merciful and that perhaps he may forgive me for my suicide

Like I said before I am a mistrustful person and at times I feel inconsolable, even by mental health professionals

Sometimes I feel like Allah is my best friend, my only friend, the only entity that I can rely on for true justice

and my parents as well. They are not perfect but they do help and they have learned from their past mistakes. Our relationship though historically turbulent is getting better. However some things and problems I simply can't talk to them about, either because of their own lack of expertise or perhaps generational/cultural differences. (I have lived in a western country since the age of 8 while my parents grew up in India)

One thing that really draws me towards islam is the idea that there is a place in the afterlife which is much better than I can imagine, and that there is also a place which is much worse than I can imagine...sometimes I feel like "You mean to tell me it gets WORSE?!?!?" and that fear is what draws me to the idea of pleasing Allah

one hadith that I really loved was "Hellfire is forbidden to touch a person who is polite, friendly and approachable." This made me feel really confident about trying to be a polite, friendly and approachable.

However I am not a hadithist anymore but only recognize the Quran. Does the Quran also echo similar sentiments as the above hadith?

I am really afraid of the idea of hell and I don't want to go to a place where my experience and feelings would be even more miserable than it is now

and now Ramadan is coming up (or at least the month of Ramadan according to mainstream muslims) and I want to partake in my obligations but I don't know how to

I know that my post may sound like I'm asking a lot of different questions and am perhaps rambling about and including irrelevant things to what I appear to be asking for feedback, but I feel therapeutic benefits from opening up like this

I'm not one of those people who doesn't like to open up, I only don't open up because I think most people will be overwhelmed with everything I have to say, or won't know what to say and how to respond

but with this being a forum with people with similar beliefs which to me are the most important of our similarities, I thought I would share this with you (important similarities meaning that quran alone is the most important common denominator, regardless of whether you are a cat or dog person or like foods that I don't like, or like music I don't care for etc.)

I had a cat that I really loved, at times I felt like he was the only one on my side when my family was against me, and I was very devastated when he died. I also like to think that his polite manners and temperament were a result of the very gentle, tolerant and loving way in which I treated him.

Do animals have souls? If not, can they still testify on judgement day on my behalf? I am welling with tears as I write this last part

If a person has killed many people, and some of the victim's families forgive him while others want him put to death, what is the solution?

Apparently the remaining three books will be completed only if there is demand!

I have emailed him/them telling them to complete the collection!

If you've received the books and would like them to continue, please email them back and tell them to continue! We need to show him the demand is there!

Science / cellular matrix from pig bladder
« on: August 19, 2012, 01:04:01 PM »
I saw a show on TV where they used scrapings from a frozen pig bladder containing cellular matrix, and they modified into powdered form, and gave it to someone who had just cut his finger off in an accident. He was advised to put some on the stump of his finger everyday a couple of times, and his finger ended up growing back completely!!!

Science / Inaccurate science in the Quran?
« on: July 16, 2012, 09:14:59 PM »
I am not a scientist and therefore cannot address the claims made in the wikiislam article about scientific inaccuracies in the Quran but for those who can, have any of you seen this and what is your take on their commentary and the translations they rely on and comment on?

Hello I tried searching for this with many different keyword combinations but could not find anything.

Anyways, I recall an excerpt from the Quran that said a creature will rise from the sea and disbelievers will send a party/representative to visit or something of that sort. Does anyone recall or recognize what I'm talking about?

Questions/Comments on the Quran / those who die as children
« on: July 08, 2010, 11:18:16 PM »
I'm not sure if this is in the Qu'ran, so it might be in the wrong forum. I tried to do a search for what my question is but I could not find anything.

Anyways I do not remember who it was that told me this or where I read it if I read it at all (I don't think I read it though) but I remember being informed somehow that when children die, they go to heaven. Is this in the Qu'ran?

Off-Topic / Astrology
« on: June 26, 2010, 01:03:16 AM »
Not sure where this topic goes, if you can figure it out please inform me if you move it.

I've been interested in astrology for about 9 years. (got into it when I was 16)

I've studied it to the point that I can sometimes tell people's signs. I've noticed as well (as fishy as this may sound) that certain astrological signs have physical traits. (some are harder to tell than others, though based on appearance it is easy for me to point out a capricorn and...that's about it lol but some leos, scorpios, tauruses and aries can have fairly obvious physical traits btw these usual physicaltraits are from my own analysis not from listed physical traits of different signs)

Anyways, what I'm getting at is...these astrological profiles provide people's base behaviour/desires etc. However when they submit...to a system which encourages them to control and reject their base desires in favour of the regulations of that system...it is difficult for me to discern their sign...

Is this perhaps one of the miracles of Allah's deen?

I have noticed that although different signs have different likes and dislikes in regards to relationships with other signs

all of them have "pluses and minuses" which are subjective and appreciated and rejected according to the likes and dislikes of other signs

for example as an Aquarius, I'm not too fond of Cancers. However one thing I can appreciate about them, is that they are good cooks (the best cooks will tell you one of the most important ingredient is love) and I can appreciate someone who puts love into making sure someone's culinary experience is marvelous. And also they can be manipulative, this can sometimes be beneficial I guess, in stopping someone from worrying about certain trivial things, manipulating them to not worry etc.

As an air sign of course I don't usually get along with water signs, but with Scorpio (for whom I dislike their obsession with revenge and their reluctance to forgive, as well as their tendency to be rude and take part in rude humour) I can admire their loyalty and inquisitiveness.

And these good traits, perhaps are made manifest by Allah in each sign, but to control and nullify the bad traits, we must submit to the Deen which encourages us to maintain our good traits

Being completely honest, I think all of us can say when we read certain commandments in the Qu'ran we perhaps may say "I agree with/like this passage, this passage is something I believed in practicing before I decided to become muslim/even read the Qu'ran. This passage confirms a goodness/ethic that I want to practice" Along with passages which go against our desires but we must practice anyways. For example as an Aquarius I feel no restraint in challenging and questioning authority but this is must be controlled, as I must respect and obey my parents and not sound ungrateful and negative even though my desires as an Aquarius is to challenge them loudly and provocatively. A Leo may take exception with the verse which says not to remind people of their charity, as lovers of the spotlight they may find it difficult to deal with this but we have to control our desires and submit to the Deen. Being a Leo though, one of their good traits made manifest by Allah is their generosity and willingness to be charitable.)

My other point, is that all signs have negative traits, but by submitting to Allah and the Deen, we can nullilfy these negative traits. There are commandments in the Deen which strengthen and encourage the erasure of negative traits for each sign.

For example, patient perseverance can drastically change an Aries and practicing it can make him/her unrecognizable to someone who would otherwise very easily spot an Aries.

For example, enduring insult and jeering for them practicing their religion or their ways and staying on the right path can drastically change a Leo (they love compliments but cannot stand insults) and practicing this can make him/her unrecognizable to someone who would otherwise very easily spot a Leo. Patient perseverance can also help a Leo (again, in regards to insults)

For example, a good response is better than a bad response and forgiving being better than desiring revenge is something that can drastically change a Scorpio and practicing it can make him/her unrecognizable to someone who would otherwise be able to very easily spot a Scorpio.

For example, speaking kind words and covering faults can drastically change a Virgo (they can be very critical, sometimes I guess in an insensitive way and point out many faulty things) and practicing it can make him/her unrecognizable to someone who would otherwise be able to very easily spot a Virgo.

Anyways, this is my natal chart = p

if you want to make one for yourself, go to www.alabe.com/freechart

you have to enter your birthdate, the place of birth and the time you were born (this might be hard to find out, but you only need it for the rising sign, it is plotted accordign to the time you were born...if you don't enter the time you were born, you will get an inaccurate rising sign, ignore it)

the first five planetary alignments are the ones that describe your immediate personality the most, the rest of the planetary alignments do not apply to an immediate personality.

Rising sign: applies to the personality you portray as opposed to your actual personality.
Sun: your actual personality
Moon: the way your emotions work
Mercury: the way your mind works
Venus: your love style
Mars: your energy style

some may say they can see these traits in my natal chart being manifested sometimes, I hope and pray to Allah that I can control the negative desires of mine.

By the way, the mars in Aries for me could not be more true. People who noticed my many edits and the messages that previous messages which I edited will notice this. And some of the venus is true as well, especially the part about pursuing a person I like lol though that hasn't really happened for a while now

Rising Sign is in 15 Degrees Leo

You love to be the center of attention and you want to appear
strong, confident and dominant. You are very proud of yourself,
sometimes quite vain even. When all around you are bedraggled and
falling apart, you look like a million bucks! Very dignified and
honorable, you enjoy the power and privilege, but not the
responsibilities, that come with leadership. You are very idealistic
but can also be quite stubborn. Others impress you only if they have
integrity (but wealth, power and influence can also turn your head).
You prefer rich, elegant surroundings and possessions, and will try
to acquire them as your budget allows. Physically, you are very
impressive - - at your best you have a regal, charismatic demeanor
and bearing. Try not to be such a showoff!

Sun is in 21 Degrees Aquarius.

You get bored with the status quo and are generally open to new
things and ideas. An individualist and a free spirit, your friends
are quite important to you as long as they do not try to tie you
down by making too many emotional demands on you. Your thoughts are
offbeat and you're a bit eccentric, but not always very changeable.
As a matter of fact, you can be quite stubborn at times. Very
fair-minded when dealing with large groups or broad issues, you are
not always emotionally sensitive to the needs of individuals.
Extremely objective, with good powers of observation, you would be
qualified to study technical and complicated subjects, like science,
computers or maybe even astrology.

Moon is in 28 Degrees Libra.

Affectionate, warm and friendly, life must be a 'beautiful'
experience for you. Unpleasantness should be avoided at all costs.
You tend to overlook other people's faults and you would rather give
in than fight. You are uncomfortable with strangers, but at ease and
sociable with friends and associates. Indeed, you would rather
socialize than work - - you can use your prodigious charm to avoid
unpleasant tasks. You need the support and assistance of another in
order to get you started on any new project - - you are not a
self-starter. Be careful of a tendency to be overly self-indulgent
(i.e., lazy). Your refined aesthetic sensibilities attract you to
music, dance, art and any other cultured activity.

Mercury is in 15 Degrees Aquarius.

You tend to be very opinionated - - you have strongly felt notions
about things and are quite vocal about expressing and defending
them. Yet you are also an original thinker - - you enjoy shocking
others with your offbeat, original thoughts. You appreciate and need
mental and intellectual stimulation. Your judgment is usually fair
and impartial - - you can be a good critic because you can remain
objective and unemotional about most things.

Venus is in 07 Degrees Aries.

You are a very affectionate person but you hate to be tied down. You
are more than willing to be the aggressor in initiating new
relationships. Indeed, once you have set your sights on someone, you
tend to pursue him or her ardently and passionately. But you do
demand your own way in a relationship. Try to give in to your
partner's needs and desires once in a while.

Mars is in 05 Degrees Aries.

You are very independent and self-assertive, and you have lots of
physical energy. You are not satisfied unless you can be the first
to do something. As such, you are more comfortable in leadership
positions than you are as an underling. When you are challenged by
anyone for anything, you delight in the competitive process and will
fight long and hard for your beliefs. You are bold and courageous
and often act without thinking. At times, in your zeal to get ahead,
you are tactless and offensive - - learn that cooperation with others
can often bring you nearer to your goals quicker because of the
support you will get.
