Quranic Divinity / Which koran article
« on: October 14, 2008, 01:40:21 AM »
Asalaamu Alaikum. This is an interesting and somewhat disturbing article i have read on

Has the koran been changed? I agree to distance ourselves from hadith for many reasons but if their is evidence of alteration in the koran y shouldnt we distance ourselves from it as well?

InshAllah u guys will help me answer this question because at the moment it is detrimental to my faith in the Koran.

interestin vid i watched. i know that the arabs have also done many atrocities and injustices as well but i think balance should remain when trying to find peace between the parties. This conflict is indeed one of the main causes of terrorism directed at America and the west. A just solution to this conflict is imperative for peace. lemme kno wat u guys think

General Issues / Questions / Things not explained in the quran
« on: May 18, 2008, 05:16:12 PM »
When conversing with my muslim friends and relatives about my belief in the quran alone as the authority a few questions always seem to pop up. An interesting statement my muslim relative, may Allah be pleased with him, makes is that Allah tells us in quran to pray and perform hajj but the hadiths tells us exactly how to perform these rituals and cleanse ourselves before.

So heres questions to those that reject the hadiths and follow the quran alone.

How do you pray? the quran says to pray but doesnt really go into the ritual. Is surah fatiha necessary in your ritual

How do you perform hajj? Allah(swt) tells us in Quran that we should make the pilgrimage. What rituals should be done according to quran only.

General Issues / Questions / Muhammad(pbuh)
« on: May 12, 2008, 03:26:57 PM »
Ive read the koran a few times and i am convinced it is from god. I strongly agree with the practice of following islam through the koran only. However i question my faith sometimes only because of early islamic history recorded in hadiths.

Such as muhammad's(pbuh) marriage to aisha at 6 and consummation of their marriage when she was only 9 and he was in his 50's.

The conquests of surrounding nations by caliphs and companions of the prophets who clearly showed first aggression which is supposedly suppose to be forbidden in islamic teachings. the conquests of these nations is in history. Is this really what muhammad(pbuh) taught? Did he also conquer the arabian peninsula against koranic teachings or were each of his battles in self-defence?

Help strenghten my faith by providing evidence if u can. Jazakallah Khair
