Salaam everyone.

This book on the topic of 'riba' is worth reading:

Salam everyone,

I found a link where Dan Gibson says, "I then examined hundreds of old Qur'anic manuscripts to search for these verses, and they are missing in all of the Qur'ans written during the first 100 years of Islam. This clearly indicates to me that the Qur'an was re-compiled by the Abbasids." He is talking about the verses regarding the qibla change in the Quran.

My concern is with his claim about the missing verses, how in the world can he say that? What hundreds of manuscripts of Quran is he talking about where he couldn't find the qibla change verses?

Dear readers,

May peace be upon you all.

After going through many of the threads of this forum, I've learnt that people regularly assert that we cannot mention prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in our salat because salat is only for God according to the following verses:

6:162
Say, My prayer and my sacrifice and my life and my death are all for God, the Lord of the worlds.

20:14
I am God. There is no deity save Me; so worship Me alone, and say your prayers in My remembrance.

With respect, I don't agree with this understanding, although I follow the Quran alone.

Hardly anyone would argue that we cannot recite verses from the Quran in our salat. Therefore, what if I recite this verse:

O our Lord! cover (us) with Thy forgiveness - me, my parents, and (all) believers, on the Day that the Reckoning will be established! (14:41)

If I recite the above Quranic prayer in my salat (there are many other Quranic prayers like this), then I'm clearly mentioning about myself, my parents, and other believers. So does this mean I'm violating 6:162 and 20:14? I don't think so.

Therefore, the verses (6:162, 20:14) are not enough evidence to conclude that if anyone mentions prophet Muhammad or prophet Jesus or any other prophet or messenger (pbut) in their salat, then the person is going against the Quran, or that the person is setting up a partner beside Allah.

Please share your thoughts whether you agree or disagree with my understanding.

Dear members,

May peace be with you.

This link gives you a software that you can use to call and send free SMS in every country from PC to cell phones:

http://www46.zippyshare.com/v/49900192/file.html

Reference: http://smscallprov7.blogspot.com/

But after you download the file from the following link, it gives you a '.rar' file that you have to extract. But it requires a password to make the extraction. They have given a link to get the password in a text document.

The password can be downloaded from here: http://cleanfiles.net/?KHHAhyW

But unfortunately, it's not letting me download because their condition is to complete a survey before they allow you to download. The surveys are not working in my country. Can anyone please just download this file for me to get the password and give me a PM? :(

Questions/Comments on the Quran / Why abandon rituals?
« on: March 11, 2013, 06:23:54 AM »
Salamun Alaykum.

I have something to say, especially to those people in whose lives, religious-rituals don?t play an important role and are meant to carry very little to no value at all, based on their understanding of the God?s book.

While I was reading the old topics in the salat section of this forum, I?ve found some people who believe that the Quran doesn?t tell us of any sort of rituals to be carried out, and all the translations have been distorted, and based on their findings and logic, they asserted that the word ?salat? means ?to establish God?s system in the society?.

Then they put forward some questions such as:

If salat means ritual prayer, then where is the word ?rakah/unit? in the Quran?

Where in the Quran does it talk about the number of rakah/units we have to do in each of the salats?

Why didn?t God give us a step-by-step process on how to do the ritual prayer?

Etc.

So in the end, they decided that salat cannot be a ritual prayer but has to be something else.

Very recently, I?ve seen a thread where someone was saying that ?wudu/ablution? in 5:6, cannot mean a physical washing of the body parts, but has to be talking about spiritual cleaning of one?s soul. Therefore, the person implied that all the translations of 5:6 are distorted, and so far, none of the scholars have interpreted this verse correctly.

Then the person put forward a question something like:

How can ablution be ?physical washing? and how can tayammum be ?physical rubbing of pure soil?, since soil itself isn?t clean and what if I can?t find water and at the same time, can?t find any pure soil, then what is supposed to be done?

...and tons of other questions.

So the person concluded that 5:6 cannot mean physical washing.

Now?

Let?s take a look at the following:

2:183        O YOU who have attained to faith! Fasting is ordained for you as it was ordained for those before you, so that you might remain conscious of God:

2:184        [fasting] during a certain number of days. But whoever of you is ill, or on a journey, [shall fast instead for the same] number of other days; and [in such cases]
it is incumbent upon those who can afford it to make sacrifice by feeding a needy person. And whoever does more good than he is bound to do does good unto himself thereby; for to
fast is to do good unto yourselves - if you but knew it.

(Red: highlighted for emphasis.)

Now answer me these:

Where in the Quran does it talk about the ailments, considering which we can decide if we fall into the category of being ill or not?

Why didn?t God give us a list of all the ailments and diseases, to help us decide based on the list, if we can fast or not?

I have cough and one of my tonsils hurts. Can I fast?

I think I have a little fever, but I am not sure. Can I fast?

I have cancer. Can I fast?

Since I can?t find all the answers to my questions, DOES THIS MEAN 2:184 IS NOT TALKING ABOUT BEING ILL?

I?m asking again. DOES THIS MEAN 2:184 IS NOT TALKING ABOUT BEING ILL?

Isn?t this what they did? Just because they couldn?t find details about rakah/units and about other stuff, they concluded that salat cannot mean ritual prayer and 5:6 cannot be talking about physical washing of the body parts.

It seems like they wish to find every single answer in the Quran. But for that to become possible, the Quran needs to be fifty times more thicker in pages to what we have today.

SO WHO WILL DECIDE IF I AM ILL OR NOT? AND WHO WILL DECIDE IF I CAN FAST OR NOT?

The answer is, ?Me?. I will use my God-given brain and decide if I am ill or not. And I know that I can?t fool God with this, cause if I lie about being ill, then God knows very well what?s in my heart and I will be fooling no one but myself.

Now as another example, think of a situation like this:

You?re travelling on a bus and you want to do your salat. For ablution, you have no water, nor do you have any pure soil for tayammum.

WHAT WILL YOU DO? AND WHO WILL DECIDE FOR YOU?

The answer is, ?You?. You will decide what you want to do. You can either tell the bus driver to halt the bus for a moment so that you can get out for two minutes to do the ablution or tayammum and do your salat outside, or you can get back and do your salat inside the bus, or you may decide not to do the salat at all and ask Allah to forgive you. It?s all up to YOU and only YOU will decide what you want to do!

Anyway, before I end this, based on evidence, logic and reason, let?s see if salat means ?establishing God?s system in the society? or not:

And [thus] did We inspire Moses and his brother: "Set aside for your people some houses in the city, and [tell them], `Turn your houses into places of worship, and be constant in prayer!' And give thou [O Moses] the glad tiding [of God's succour] to all believers." (10:87)

Transliteration: Waawhayna ila moosa waakheehi an tabawwaa liqawmikuma bimisra buyootan waijAAaloo buyootakum qiblatan waaqeemoo alssalata wabashshiri almu/mineena (10:87)

If you read the above verse in context, you will see that this verse came long before prophet Moses (pbuh) saved the children of Israel and escaped from Pharaoh and his army by crossing the sea. Then more later, prophet Moses (pbuh) was being asked by God to go up to the Mount Sinai for an appointed time, and there prophet Moses (pbuh) was given the commandments on the stone tablets.

Therefore, if salat means ?to establish God?s system?, how come the order of salat for the children of Israel was given long before prophet Moses (pbuh) even got the stone tablets?

A question to ponder about.

Peace.

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 1, Book 6, Number 299:

    Narrated 'Abdur-Rahman bin Al-Aswad:

(on the authority of his father) 'Aisha said: "Whenever Allah's Apostle wanted to fondle anyone of us during her periods (menses), he used to order her to put on an Izar and start fondling her." 'Aisha added, "None of you could control his sexual desires as the Prophet could."

While in Itikaf, he used to bring his head near me and I would wash it while I used to be in my periods (menses).

Comment: Please compare this to the Quranic surah:

    002:222

"And they ask you about menstruation. Say: It is a discomfort; therefore keep aloof from the women during the menstrual discharge and do not go near them until they have become clean; then when they have cleansed themselves, go in to them as Allah has commanded you; surely Allah loves those who turn much (to Him), and He loves those who purify themselves."

Allah's Apostle said, 'Have you got your menses?' I replied, 'Yes.' Then he called me and took me with him under the woolen sheet."     While Allah's Apostle was carrying stones (along) with the people of Mecca for (the building of) the Ka'ba wearing an Izar (waist-sheet cover), his uncle Al-'Abbas said to him, "O my nephew! He said, "Why didn't you marry a young girl with whom you could play and who could play with you?" Then when we approached (Medina) and were going to enter (it), the Prophet said, "Wait till you enter (your homes) at night (in the first part of the night) so that the ladies with unkempt hair may comb their hair, and those whose husbands have been absent (for a long time) may shave their pubic hair." (The sub-narrator, Hashim said: A reliable narrator told me that the Prophet added in this Hadith: "(Seek to beget) children! Children, O  O Jabir!")

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 1, Book 5, Number 277:

    Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, 'The (people of) Bani Israel used to take bath naked (all together) looking at each other. The Prophet Moses used to take a bath alone. They said, 'By Allah! Nothing prevents Moses from taking a bath with us except that he has a scrotal hernia.' So once Moses went out to take a bath and put his clothes over a stone and then that stone ran away with his clothes. Moses followed that stone saying, "My clothes, O stone! My clothes, O stone! till the people of Bani Israel saw him and said, 'By Allah, Moses has got no defect in his body. Moses took his clothes and began to beat the stone." Abu Huraira added, "By Allah! There are still six or seven marks present on the stone from that excessive beating."

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "When the Prophet Job (Aiyub) was taking a bath naked, golden locusts began to fall on him. Job started collecting them in his clothes. His companion said, 'If Allah will.' But Solomon did not say so; therefore none of those women got pregnant except one who gave birth to a half child." The Prophet further said, "If the Prophet Solomon had said it (i.e. 'If Allah will') he would have begotten children who would have fought in Allah's Cause." Shuaib and Ibn Abi Az-Zinad said, "Ninety (women) is more correct (than seventy)."

PROPHET OGLING AT A WOMAN OFFERING HERSELF IN MARRIAGE, NAKEDNESS & BARGAINING (Astagfurullah)

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 7, Book 62, Number 24:

    Narrated Sahl bin Sad As-Sa'idi:

A woman came to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's Apostle! I have come to give you myself in marriage (without Mahr)." Allah's Apostle looked at her. He looked at her carefully and fixed his glance on her and then lowered his head. When the lady saw that he did not say anything, she sat down. A man from his companions got up and said, "O Allah's Apostle! If you are not in need of her, then marry her to me." The Prophet said, "Have you got anything to offer?" The man said, "No, by Allah, O Allah's Apostle!" The Prophet said (to him), "Go to your family and see if you have something." The man went and returned, saying, "No, by Allah, I have not found anything." Allah's Apostle said, "(Go again) and look for something, even if it is an iron ring." He went again and returned, saying, "No, by Allah, O Allah's Apostle! I could not find even an iron ring, but this is my Izar (waist sheet)." He had no rida. He added, "I give half of it to her." Allah's Apostle said, "What will she do with your Izar? If you wear it, she will be naked, and if she wears it, you will be naked." So that man sat down for a long while and then got up (to depart). When Allah's Apostle saw him going, he ordered that he be called back. When he came, the Prophet said, "How much of the Quran do you know?" He said, "I know such Sura and such Sura," counting them. The Prophet said, "Do you know them by heart?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet said, "Go, I marry her to you for that much of the Quran which you have."

    Narrated Anas:

The climate of Medina did not suit some people, so the Prophet ordered them to follow his shepherd, i.e. his camels, and drink their milk and urine (as a medicine). So they followed the shepherd that is the camels and drank their milk and urine till their bodies became healthy. Then they killed the shepherd and drove away the camels. When the news reached the Prophet he sent some people in their pursuit. When they were brought, he cut their hands and feet and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron.

WIVES OF THE PROPHET PUTTING BOWLS UNDERNEATH THEIR PRIVATE PARTS WHEN BLEEDING IN MENSES AND DURING PRAYER

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 1, Book 6, Number 306:

    Narrated 'Aisha:

Once one of the wives of the Prophet did Itikaf along with him and she was getting bleeding in between her periods. She used to see the blood (from her private parts) and she would perhaps put a dish under her for the blood. (The sub-narrator 'Ikrima added, 'Aisha once saw the liquid of safflower and said, "It looks like what so and so used to have.")

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 1, Book 6, Number 307:

    Narrated 'Aisha:

"One of the wives of Allah's Apostle joined him in l'tikaf and she noticed blood and yellowish discharge (from her private parts) and put a dish under her when she prayed."

KNOWLEDGE OF THE HOUR (Which one is it?)

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 9, Book 88, Number 231:

    Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, "The Hour will not be established till a man passes by a grave of somebody and says, 'Would that I were in his place.' "

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 9, Book 88, Number 232:

    Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established till the buttocks of the women of the tribe of Daus move while going round Dhi-al-Khalasa." Dhi-al-Khalasa was the idol of the Daus tribe which they used to worship in the Pre Islamic Period of ignorance.

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 9, Book 88, Number 233:

    Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established till a man from Qahtan appears, driving the people with his stick."

    ________________

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 9, Book 88, Number 234:

    Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established till a fire will come out of the land of Hijaz, and it will throw light on the necks of the camels at Busra."

Comment:  The Quran is absolutely clear that no-one has knowledge of the hour except for God. Note the time specific nature of the above descriptions, along with the same narrator seemingly having different accounts attributed to him.

DATE PALM STEM CRIED LIKE A PREGNANT SHE CAMEL

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 2, Book 13, Number 41:

    Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah:

The Prophet used to stand by a stem of a date-palm tree (while delivering a sermon). When the pulpit was placed for him we heard that stem crying like a pregnant she-camel till the Prophet got down from the pulpit and placed his hand over it.

         JURAIJ - MAKES BABY SPEAK

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 2, Book 22, Number 297m:

    Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "A woman called her son while he was in his hermitage and said, 'O Juraij' He said, 'O Allah, my mother (is calling me) and (I am offering) my prayer (what shall I do)?' She again said, 'O Juraij!' He said again, 'O Allah ! My mother (is calling me) and (I am offering) my prayer (what shall I do)?' She again said, 'O Juraij' He again said, 'O Allah! My mother (is calling me) and (I am offering) my prayer. (What shall I do?)' She said, 'O Allah! Do not let Juraij die till he sees the faces of prostitutes.' A shepherdess used to come by his hermitage for grazing her sheep and she gave birth to a child. She was asked whose child that was, and she replied that it was from Juraij and that he had come out from his hermitage. Juraij said, 'Where is that woman who claims that her child is from me?' (When she was brought to him along with the child), Juraij asked the child, 'O Babus, who is your father?' The child replied, 'The shepherd.' "

    Comment:

A baby speaks on the command of Juraij and knows who his mother slept with (a shepherd) to conceive him. Why is the status and power of Juraij being so elevated? Ibn Juraij is a narrator and also appears as a sub narrator quoted by other narrators.     Comment:  Many Ahadith which seem to have a bias against women seem to be attributed to Abu Hurairah. A study is highly recommended.

COMPANION'S SARCASM - 'SEMEN DRIBBLING FROM OUR MALE ORGANS'

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 3, Book 44, Number 683:

    Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:

The Prophet (along with his companions) reached Mecca in the morning of the fourth of Dhul-Hijja assuming Ihram for Hajj only. So when we arrived at Mecca, the Prophet ordered us to change our intentions of the Ihram for 'Umra and that we could finish our Ihram after performing the 'Umra and could go to our wives (for sexual intercourse). The people began talking about that. Jabir said surprisingly, "Shall we go to Mina while semen is dribbling from our male organs?" Jabir moved his hand while saying so. When this news reached the Prophet he delivered a sermon and said, "I have been informed that some peoples were saying so and so; By Allah I fear Allah more than you do, and am more obedient to Him than you. If I had known what I know now, I would not have brought the Hadi (sacrifice) with me and had the Hadi not been with me, I would have finished the Ihram." At that Suraqa bin Malik stood up and asked "O Allah's Apostle! Is this permission for us only or is it forever?" The Prophet replied, "It is forever." In the meantime 'Ali bin Abu Talib came from Yemen and was saying Labbaik for what the Prophet has intended. (According to another man, 'Ali was saying Labbaik for Hajj similar to Allah's Apostle's). The Prophet told him to keep on the Ihram and let him share the Hadi with him.

DOG CONTRADICTION: PROSTITUTE FORGIVEN FOR HELPING A DOG & DOGS ROAMED IN MOSQUES

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 4, Book 54, Number 538:

    Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "A prostitute was forgiven by Allah, because, passing by a panting dog near a well and seeing that the dog was about to die of thirst, she took off her shoe, and tying it with her head-cover she drew out some water for it. So, Allah forgave her because of that."

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 1, Book 4, Number 174:

    Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, "A man saw a dog eating mud from (the severity of) thirst. So, that man took a shoe (and filled it) with water and kept on pouring the water for the dog till it quenched its thirst. So Allah approved of his deed and made him to enter Paradise." And narrated Hamza bin 'Abdullah: My father said. "During the lifetime of Allah's Apostle, the dogs used to urinate, and pass through the mosques (come and go), nevertheless they never used to sprinkle water on it (urine of the dog.)"

Comment: The above Abu Hurairah hadith variant now references a man and not a prostitute. Secondly, the hadith now expresses that dogs seem to roam around freely in the Prophet's mosque and urinate.

Behold! The rider was the Prophet himself. He said, 'What makes you in such a hurry?" I replied, I am newly married " He said, "Did you marry a virgin or a matron? I replied, "A matron." He said, "Why didn't you marry a young girl so that you may play with her and she with you?" When we were about to enter (Medina), the Prophet said, "Wait so that you may enter (Medina) at night so that the lady of unkempt hair may comb her hair and the one whose husband has been absent may shave her pubic region.

JESUS DESCRIBED AS RED FACED AS IF HE HAD JUST COME OUT OF A BATHROOM (Astagfurullah)

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 4, Book 55, Number 647:

    Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, "I met Moses on the night of my Ascension to heaven." The Prophet then described him saying, as I think, "He was a tall person with lank hair as if he belonged to the people of the tribe of Shanu's.' The Prophet further said, "I met Jesus." The Prophet described him saying, "He was one of moderate height and was red-faced as if he had just come out of a bathroom. I saw Abraham whom I resembled more than any of his children did." The Prophet further said, "(That night) I was given two cups; one full of milk and the other full of wine. I was asked to take either of them which I liked, and I took the milk and drank it. On that it was said to me, 'You have taken the right path (religion). If you had taken the wine, your (Muslim) nation would have gone astray."

CONFUSION: PROPHET NARRATING IT OR ABU HURAIRAH?

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 7, Book 64, Number 268:

    Narrated Abu Huraira:

"The Prophet said, 'The best alms is that which is given when one is rich, and a giving hand is better than a taking one, and you should start first to support your dependents.' A wife says, 'You should either provide me with food or divorce me.' A slave says, 'Give me food and enjoy my service." A son says, "Give me food; to whom do you leave me?" The people said, "O Abu Huraira! Did you hear that from Allah's Apostle ?" He said, "No, it is from my own self."

    Comment:

It is interesting to note that the hadith initiates on the authority of the Prophet and ends on the authority of Abu Hurairah. Furthermore, if the latter statement is accepted, how is one to reconcile the hadith of companions being passed as Prophetic traditions in a corpus?

(The narrator then mentioned the narration of intercession): "The people will go to Abraham and say: 'You are Allah's Prophet and His Khalil on the earth. Will you intercede for us with your Lord?'           RESEMBLANCE OF A CHILD DEPENDS ON WHO DISCHARGES FIRST DURING SEX

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 4, Book 55, Number 546:

        Narrated Anas:

When 'Abdullah bin Salam heard the arrival of the Prophet at Medina, he came to him and said, "I am going to ask you about three things which nobody knows except a prophet: What is the first portent of the Hour? What will be the first meal taken by the people of Paradise? Why does a child resemble its father, and why does it resemble its maternal uncle" Allah's Apostle said, "Gabriel has just now told me of their answers." 'Abdullah said, "He (i.e. Gabriel), from amongst all the angels, is the enemy of the Jews." Allah's Apostle said, "The first portent of the Hour will be a fire that will bring together the people from the east to the west; the first meal of the people of Paradise will be Extra-lobe (caudate lobe) of fish-liver. As for the resemblance of the child to its parents: If a man has sexual intercourse with his wife and gets discharge first, the child will resemble the father, and if the woman gets discharge first, the child will resemble her." On that 'Abdullah bin Salam said, "I testify that you are the Apostle of Allah." 'Abdullah bin Salam further said, "O Allah's Apostle! The Jews are liars, and if they should come to know about my conversion to Islam before you ask them (about me), they would tell a lie about me." The Jews came to Allah's Apostle and 'Abdullah went inside the house. Allah's Apostle asked (the Jews), "What kind of man is 'Abdullah bin Salam amongst you?" They replied, "He is the most learned person amongst us, and the best amongst us, and the son of the best amongst us." Allah's Apostle said, "What do you think if he embraces Islam (will you do as he does)?" The Jews said, "May Allah save him from it." Then 'Abdullah bin Salam came out in front of them saying, "I testify that None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah." Thereupon they said, "He is the evilest among us, and the son of the evilest amongst us," and continued talking badly of him.

Comment: Note above - The earliest extant source of the above narrative is possibly Ibn Ishaq?s Sira that has been transmitted via Al Bakkai and Ibn Hisham.

THE LIFE OF MUHAMMAD - IBN ISHAQ

'Abdullah b. 'Abdu'l-Rahman b. Abu Husayn al-Makki told me from Shahr b. Hausab al-Ash'ari that a number of Jewish rabbis came to the apostle and asked him to answer four questions, saying that id he did so they would follow him and testify to his truth, and believe in him. He got them to swear a solemn oath that if he gave them the right answers they would acknowledge his truth and they began: 'Why does a boy resemble his mother when the semen comes from the man?' (1) 'I adjure you by God and His favours towards the children of Israel, do you not know that man's semen is white and thick while a woman's is yellow and thin, and the likeness goes with that which comes to the top?'    [1]

          RATS ARE JEWISH

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 4, Book 54, Number 524:

    Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, "A group of Israelites were lost. Nobody knows what they did. But I do not see them except that they were cursed and changed into rats, for if you put the milk of a she-camel in front of a rat, it will not drink it, but if the milk of a sheep is put in front of it, it will drink it." I told this to Ka'b who asked me, "Did you hear it from the Prophet ?" I said, "Yes." Ka'b asked me the same question several times.; I said to Ka'b. "Do I read the Torah? (i.e. I tell you this from the Prophet.)"

Comment: There is a dangerous inference here. Evidence is cited at the time of narration with regards the milk of a she-camel. As the evidence is contemporaneous to the narration, the argument must be inferred as applying to all rats.

PROPHET UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF MAGIC

BUKHARI HADITH:  Volume 4, Book 54, Number 490:

    Narrated 'Aisha:

Magic was worked on the Prophet so that he began to fancy that he was doing a thing which he was not actually doing. One day he invoked (Allah) for a long period and then said, "I feel that Allah has inspired me as how to cure myself. Two persons came to me (in my dream) and sat, one by my head and the other by my feet. One of them asked the other, "What is the ailment of this man?" The other replied, 'He has been bewitched" The first asked, 'Who has bewitched him?' The other replied, 'Lubaid bin Al-A'sam.' The first one asked, 'What material has he used?' The other replied, 'A comb, the hair gathered on it, and the outer skin of the pollen of the male date-palm.' The first asked, 'Where is that?' The other replied, 'It is in the well of Dharwan.' " So, the Prophet went out towards the well and then returned and said to me on his return, "Its date-palms (the date-palms near the well) are like the heads of the devils." I asked, "Did you take out those things with which the magic was worked?" He said, "No, for I have been cured by Allah and I am afraid that this action may spread evil amongst the people." Later on the well was filled up with earth.

Blog comment: Even worse, there are several hadith which tell us that the prophet was sometimes under an enchantment which made him imagine things that were not so and tell untruths.

The one near my head asked the other. What is wrong with this man?' The latter replied the is under the effect of magic The first one asked, Who has worked magic on him?' The other replied, 'A comb and the hair stuck to it.' The first one asked, 'Where (is that)?' The other replied. 'In a skin of pollen of a male date palm tree kept under a stone in the well of Dharwan' '' So the Prophet went to that well and took out those things and said "That was the well which was shown to me (in a dream) Its water looked like the infusion of Henna leaves and its date-palm trees looked like the heads of devils." Questions/Comments on the Quran / Arrangement of the surahs
« on: February 19, 2013, 11:57:06 AM »
Peace, everyone.

I need a little help here. I was talking to my aunt a few minutes ago, and she's a typical Sunni who believes in all ahadith. While discussing, she told me that the Qur'an was not in the form of a book until Abu Bakr and Umar decided to compile it into a book. Then she said that the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had left them the information about the correct way of arranging the surahs which as we have it today. And she implied that the knowledge which Muhammad (pbuh) received on arranging the surahs, came to him as a revelation OUTSIDE the Qur'an through Jibreel. Unfortunately, I couldn't answer her back because of my lack of knowledge on this topic.

Right now, I only remember - "...and We have arranged it well in arranging." (25:32)

So of course, it is God who has arranged it. Now my question is, if Muhammad (pbuh) didn't receive revelations outside the Qur'an, how did God made the arrangement of the surahs while He was revealing the Qur'an to Muhammad (pbuh)?

I need you to put your thoughts here for my question with Quranic proof (if possible), cause I really need to reply to my aunt and also to learn for myself.
