Salam,

Kiswah is the clothing that covers the "Kaabah" in present Mekkah. Only in 1930s, the factory or facility to produce Kiswah was initiated by Saudi Government. Later in 1972, the new modern factory was officiated by King Fahd Ibn Abd Saud.

Prior to these years, Kiswah was imported from Yemen (South Civilization) and Egypt (Nile Civilization).

This fact shows that present Mekkah is relatively teething and backward in term of industrialization achievement. In short present Mekkah is :

1.  Disqualified from Ummul Qura Status Quo
2.  Disqualified from "Ancient" Status Quo
3.  Lack of Skill Artisan and Skill Manpower and tools, which related to 1
4.  A relatively new city center.

Kiswah factory/industry which provide key indicator of civilization status was not exist until 1930s.  Any input appreciated.

peace & regards.

24:35.   God is the Light of the heavens and the Earth. The example of His light is like a concave mirror within a lamp, the lamp is within a glass, the glass is like a radiant planet, which is lit from a blessed olive tree that is neither of the east nor of the west, its oil nearly gives off light even if not touched by fire. Light upon light, God guides to His light whom He pleases. And God sets forth parables for the people, and God is aware of all things.
24:36.   In houses (sanctuaries) that God has allowed to be raised and His name mentioned in them. He is glorified therein day and night.

Salaam,

If any of the members of this archeological and historical section have came across any information pertaining to Glass Lamp of Olive Fuel (GLOF) from 7th century or earlier, kindly share with me.

I believe that when God set parables in the above verses, it gives clue to the location of the society that reside surrounding the sanctuaries. This sanctuaries used to have GLOF as a common building fittings during their time. I have try to do some basic search, but nothing come close to GLOF. Glass was crafted usually by Romans, Egyptians and Europian, but the usage especially was limited to advanced and upper class societies.

Thanks for your input.  :peace:
