General Issues / Questions / is the universe water
« on: August 07, 2021, 03:15:30 PM »
Peace everyone

I would like to share with you my idea on what the universe is made of should anyone anyone have any insight or idea to share

a fellow free minder shared with me some videos about the moon and other objects in space that when looked it seem to gave ripple effects (the moon also seems to have lunar waves)

He is the One who has created the heavens and the earth in six days and His Throne was upon the water so as to test who from among you works the best and when you say you will be resurrected after the deat those who have rejected say this is but clear magic (11:7)

your Lord is The God who has created the heavens and the earth in six days then He settled upon the Throne the night runs away from the day which seeks it continually and the sun and the moon and the stars are commissioned by His command to Him is the creation and the command glory to The God The Lord of the worlds (7:54)

from the above verse, i understand that The God is on His Throne which is above the water .. may we say that the seven heavens are thus water?

they fear their Lord from above them and they do what they are commanded (16:50)

from the above verse may we conclude that The Lord is above us all, that His Throne is settled above us, above the waters, and so the universe is water?

in the bible we are told that the waters above are separated from the waters below (earthly waters?) by the firmament (our atmosphere?)

perhaps what scientists call "dark energy and dark matter) is actually water

just a thought perhaps i am wrong

Archeology & History / blessed land/cities
« on: March 13, 2021, 11:03:15 AM »

i am a bit confused as to how many “blessed” cities there are

in 34:18 i understand blessed cities is plural

so are there more than one “blessed” cities in the blessed land yes?

21:71 and 7;137 for example mention the “land” which was blessed

so it is a blessed land with many cities?

might the blessed land be egypt? and muhammed actually lived in egypt? (or at least misr if one believes misr to not be egypt)

40:29-31 people of pharaoh mention thamud, aad and people of noah ... so perhaps they knew about those people as they lived in same place??

thank you

General Issues / Questions / question regarding losing hope
« on: August 10, 2020, 05:24:37 PM »
salam everyone

i would like to please ask your advice and thoughts

if a person believes in The God strongly, and has tried their best to obey The God and strive in his worship of The God...but has commited same zina 3 times in very close time whilst they knew it was a sin.. you think The God forgives?

the same person has been recently diagnosed with a condition which is not the end of the world but somewhat incapacitating in life .. condition is acquired because of mistakes he has done.. you think a punishment from The God?

i am asking because that person mentions he is losing hope in The God’s mercy .. and i do not know what to tell them (the situation is also affecting me actually and getting me confused)

the person talks about the verse where The God says that believers will have a decent life .. and now that is not going to be the case for them ..
but i respond with verse 286 of surah 2 where The God says no soul is burdened with more than it could take

any thoughts? the person is losing their passion in their faith and saying The God hates them etc (and im getting confused and drawn into their arguments)

thank you

Questions/Comments on the Quran / seven heavens
« on: July 30, 2020, 01:26:13 PM »
salam everyone

i would please like your opinion as to what you think the seven heavens are

i take the verses literally and indeed there are seven heavens, but the question is, can we know/observe them?

surah 71 verse 15 has nuh pbuh telling his people:

“did you not see how God created seven heavens in layers?”

nuh pbuh tells his people “did you not see how..” ... so does that mean perhaps the seven heavens are “visible” to us and we could observe them? (or maybe they were visible to nuh pbuh people only? or to no one?)
however the thing is that nuh pbuh uses the word “how” ... so  rather than “do you not see the seven heavens”, nuh pbuh says “did you not see HOW (kayfa)...”  so what do you guys think is meant with the word “how”?

any comments please welcome

thank uuu

salam everyone

i was wondering if anyone read the 2019 edition by edip yuksel and layth of Quran: a Reformist Translation: A Book Betrayed by Muslims

do you know if the verses 128 and 129 of surah 9 have been included or have they been omitted like in the previous edition (a reformist translation)?

also, do you know if there have been changes from the previous version?

thank you

General Issues / Questions / safa and marwa
« on: July 17, 2020, 09:55:27 AM »
salam everyone

do you think mount gerizim and mount ebal could perhaps be safa and marwa? (this is assuming perhaps safaa and marwa are indeed valleys or mountains)

they are two mountains or valleys next to each other that the samaritan jews believe to be sacred and where they perfom passover gathering (on mount gerizim)

i saw on youtube that archeologists found thousand of goat and sheep skeletons and gold coins on the site (they say cause people paid for pilgrimage)

video i saw:

however, one my issues with the site include the fact that they say there is a byzantin church on the mountain ....

any comments welcome
