What is the difference between دَخَلَ and سلک? They both means "Enter".

Is there any difference?

Thanks

General Issues / Questions / Wife beating verse
« on: September 16, 2019, 09:59:48 AM »
Salam,

Why are there no steps to discipline ones husband in chapter 4 verse 128 as compared to chapter 4 verse 34 where three steps are described to discipline one wife? However, both are in the state of "Nushuz"?

Why can't wife discipline to her husband? It is clearly shows that Quran also discriminates between two genders?

Thanks,
NK

Please watch following video for scientific explanation of Moses rod-snake miracle. I personally agree with the explanation and incline towards it.

Salam,

Are meteors really missiles thrown at jinns by angels?

In Surah Mulk, verse 5, Allah says:

وَلَقَدْ زَيَّنَّا السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا بِمَصَابِيحَ وَجَعَلْنَاهَا رُجُومًا لِلشَّيَاطِينِ ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابَ السَّعِيرِ

And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze.

How do we understand the highlighted phrase? Does it refer to meteorites falling to earth? If yes, since they also fall on other planets, what do we make of their purpose?

Thanks.

Questions/Comments on the Quran / Dictamnus albus (Burning bush)
« on: December 31, 2018, 03:28:27 AM »
The name "burning bush" derives from the volatile oils produced by the plant, which can catch fire readily in hot weather,[citation needed] leading to comparisons with the burning bush of the Bible, including the suggestion that this is the plant involved there. The daughter of Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus is said to have ignited the air once, at the end of a particularly hot, windless summer day, above Dictamnus plants, using a simple matchstick. The volatile oils have a reputed component of isoprene.

Peace all,

Is the Holy Quran for the humans only or for the Jinns too?

Peace all,
The Bible book of Genesis speaks of seven men who lived more than 900 years, all of them being born prior to the Flood of Noah?s day. They were Adam, Seth, Enosh, Kenan, Jared, Methuselah, and Noah. (Genesis 5:5-27; 9:29) Many of these men may be unfamiliar to most people, but all of them were among the first ten generations in human history. Methuselah is well-known for having lived the longest?a record 969 years!

The Bible mentions at least another 25 individuals who also reached ages beyond what is common today. Some of them lived 300, 400, even 700 or more years. (Genesis 5:28-31; 11:10-25) Is that really true? or Was Time Measured Differently?

Thanks,
NK
