An interesting video regarding the Rome and European beliefs.

the winner always destroy the symbols, the books, the achievements of the defeated.

So according to  Ar-Rum, Had the Romans won first and then be defeated? Or vice versa?

Why the believers will rejoice? Any thought?

Economics Forum / What is Riba?
October 19, 2021, 10:57:53 AM
Salamun alaykum,
I would like to share my opinion regarding riba in Quran. Let me start by collecting all related verses and meaning of the riba,

ر ب و  = Ra-Ba-Waw = it increased/augmented, the practicing/taking of usury, excess/addition, an addition obtained more than what is supposed to be received, become high/grown up/large/swollen/risen, mount up, to grow/swell, out of breath, panting. rabiyatun - ever-increasing, severe. arba (comp. form) - more numerous, more increased.

=Riba vs Trade=

2:275   Those who consume RIBA do not rise except as one being influenced by the touch of the devil. That is because they have said: "Trade is the same as RIBA." While God has made trade permissible, and He has made RIBA forbidden. Whoever has received understanding from his Lord and ceases, then he will be forgiven for what was before this and his case will be with God. But whoever returns, then they are the people of the Fire, in it they will abide.

Trading is not Riba. So how do we distinguish RIBA from trade?

4:161   And for their taking of RIBA, while they were prohibited from doing so, and for their consuming the money of the people unjustly. We have prepared for the disbelievers among them a painful retribution.

Riba is one example of consuming other people's money unjustly. Let see how to avoid that,

4:29   O you who believe, do not consume your money between you unjustly, unless it is through a trade which is mutually agreed by you. And do not kill yourselves; God is Merciful towards you.

So the trade which is mutually agreed by both party is not RIBA. This is the difference between RIBA and trade. Even if we apply interest on a money loan for profit, as long as it is agreed upon by both parties, then it is a trade.

The meaning of RIBA should not be able to cancel God's provisions in trade, which is mutual agreement by both parties in normal condition.

So what is RIBA then?

=RIBA vs Sadaqati=

After comparing it with trade, this time in the following verse, RIBA is compared to Sadaqah (charity),

2:276   God condemns RIBA, and He grants growth to the SADAQATI <charities>. And God does not love any wicked sinner.

From here we can see the direction of this understanding of RIBA, explained in the following verses,

2:278   O you who believe, be aware of God and give up what is left from RIBA, if you truly are believers.

2:279   And if you will not do this, then be informed of a war from God and His messenger; but if you repent, then you will have back your principal money, you will not be wronged nor will you wrong.

2:280   If the debtor in difficulty, then you shall wait until he becomes able. And if you relinquish it as a charity <tasaddaqu> it is better for you if only you knew.

So Riba as opposed to Sadaqati <charities>, this applies when there is a trade failure, or in a loan, where the borrower is having financial difficulties to repay the loan with reasonable reasons.

What the creditor must do is debt restructuring, giving the debtor the opportunity to be financially able to repay the debt. This is one thing we often see in the financial world,

"Debt restructuring is a process that allows a private or public company or a sovereign entity facing cash flow problems and financial distress to reduce and renegotiate its delinquent debts to improve or restore liquidity so that it can continue its operations."

and if there is no possibility to pay back, then the debt can be cleared, as sadaqaty or charity

"Debt relief or debt cancellation is the partial or total forgiveness of debt,"

By looking at the above understanding, I understand that RIBA or the addition is not a problem as long as both parties agree to it, and the borrower is able to return it.

It will only become something that is prohibited when the debtor is experiencing financial difficulties naturally and is unable to repay. The creditor may only collect the principal of the debt, and even then by restructuring the debt.

This is also clarified by the following verse,

3:130  yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū lā takulūl-riba aḍʿāfan muḍāʿafatan wa-ittaqūl-laha laʿallakum tuf'liḥūna

3:130  O you who believe, do not consume RIBA, FROM THE WEAK/INFIRM, INCAPACITATED ; and reverence God that you may succeed.

= Dad-Ayn-Fa = to be weak/feeble/infirm. To think repute, esteem, treat or hold a person weak. To exceed, twofold, manyfold, double, triple, multiple words. Like, an equal portion or as much again.

Furthermore, we can see the context of the Dad-Ayn-Fa in here,

dad-ayn-fa" border="0

A person who is unable to pay his debts.

So this RIBA only applies to certain situations, where additions/interest are allowed when the borrower has the ability to pay, and must be abolished or rescheduled when the borrower is in financial difficulty and unable to pay back. Interest loan is fine for me, as long as mutually agreed by both parties, and in the normal condition.

Pilgrimage (Hajj) / Hajj for the Arafah
April 12, 2018, 04:23:34 PM
Salaam,
I would like to share my thoughts and what I have done regarding hajj.

To me, hajj is kind of celebration and thanks to God for the guidance we got from "intensively" studying the Quran during Ramadhan fasting.

My starting point for the hajj is the parable in the following verse,

29:41 The example of those who take allies other than Allah is like that of the spider who takes a home <baytan>. And indeed, the weakest of homes is the home of the spider, if they only knew.

29:43 And these examples We present to the people, but none will understand them except those of knowledge.

This verse metaphorically illustrates that belief in gods other than Allah is like the "house" of the spider. A very weak house.

So from here I began to be vigilant, if God talks about the house in his verses, I should be able to distinguish which one is metaphorically house and which one is really a physical house.

What I got according to my senses, if it is a metaphor, then the word house is usually followed by the existence of the God, either polytheis, or monotheis.

Here is the example:

16:26   Those before them had schemed, so God came to their buildings from the foundation, thus the roof fell on top of them; and the retribution came to them from where they did not know.

16:27   Then, on the Day of Resurrection He will humiliate them, and say: "Where are My partners regarding whom you used to dispute?" Those who have received the knowledge said: "The humiliation today and the misery are upon the rejecters.

This building is no a physical building, but a parable to illustrate the existence of the God, in this verse, the polytheist one.

The same approach I found in the Gospel of Barnabas,

Chap 33

Then said he who had invited him: 'Master, which is the greatest sin?'

Jesus answered: 'Which is the greatest ruin of a house?'

Everyone was silent, when Jesus with his finger pointed to the foundation, and said: 'If the foundation give way, immediately the house falleth in ruin, in such wise that it is necessary to build it up anew: but if every other part give way it can be repaired. Even so then say I to you, that idolatry is the greatest sin, because it depriveth a man entirely of faith, and consequently of God; so that he can have no spiritual affection. But every other sin leaveth to man the hope of obtaining mercy: and therefore I say that idolatry is the greatest sin.'

The greatest sin is idolatry, the house of spider, the weakest house.

If there is a weak house of polytheism, of course there is a strong house with solid foundations that represents the opposite beliefs (monotheist) as illustrated by the following verse,

24:36 In houses which Allah has ordered to be raised and that His name be mentioned therein; exalting Him within them in the morning and the evenings

One of the is the house that were raised on its foundation by Abraham and Ishmael,

2:127 And it was so, that Abraham was raising the foundations for the house, and Ishmael: "Our Lord accept this from us, You are the Hearer, the Knowledgeable."

22:26   And We have directed Abraham to the location of the house: "Do not set up anyone with Me, and purify My shrine for those who visit, and those who are standing, and the kneeling, the prostrating."

I could recognize that the house in the verses above is a parable of the monotheistic beliefs, as opposed to the weak house made by the polytheists which has been explained metaphorically as the spider house, the weakest house.

A House which is mentioned and followed by existence of the divine (monotheism) command, "Do not set up anyone with Me" is a parable.

So for me, the houses of Ibrahim and Ismail, was not a physical house form, but it's a monotheist belief, a safe place for all the people who enter it.

Now after the initial idea of the "House" was formed, all of my understanding of the Hajj had to be adapted to that idea.

Since the House was declared as something non-physical, then the physical journey to certain location was no longer needed. So I choose the following translation for the Hajj,

Haji = Haa-Jiim-Jiim = to intend to a certain target, and the target is monotheism.

So for me, the hajj  is calling people to return to the one God, regardless of what their beliefs.

Since the hajj will attended by the people who has different creed, so I can see the connection of this verse,

2:197 ...and no disputing during Hajj.

We don't need to talk about the our "sharia" with the people who come from different beliefs.

22:67   For every umma We have established rites which they are to fulfill. So do not let the matter fall into dispute. And call upon your Lord, for you are on a guidance which is straight.

Just call upon the Lord.

The Hajj is also means feast, we slaughtering the cattle and give it to the poor, using a procedure called "Safa & Marwa".

Here is how to do it,

2:158 Indeed, as-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah.

22:36   And the plump livestock, We have made them for you to be among the symbols of God; you will have benefit in them. So mention the name of Allah upon them when lined up <sawaffa>; then, once their sides have become still, you may eat from them and feed with them the poor and the needy. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may be grateful..

The plump livestock, Safa <sawaffa>& Marwah are the symbols of Allah.

Marwah= Miim-Ra-Waw = flint stones, white fragile stone where a cooking fire is started or from which blades are made, the stone on which an animal is slaughtered, hard, barren land, type of fragrant tree. The eminence in the immediate vicinity of Ka'bah, a mountain near Mecca called Marwah.

So the procedure is,

1. Line up the cattle <sawaffa>
2. Mention the God's name upon them
3. Slaughtering the cattle on Marwah <the stone on which an animal is slaughtered>

As a result we will witness the greatness of God, which is mentioned in the last sentence of the verse,

22:36 ..It was thus that We have subjected them for you, that you may be thankful..

the animals were in total surrender, not struggling when slaughtered, and the death was calm.

I have prove it by myself,

safa_marwa" border="0

So Safa and Marwa are slaughter procedures that will show the greatness of God that anyone can do, regardless of the people creeds, as long as he/she believes in One God. The goal is that we all understand that our Lord is one God.

You can see on this video to see how it works,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc5BWafzEu4

Lastly, I am re-translating to this Bakkah verse, with a more relevant sense in my opinion,

3:96 inna awwala baytin wudhi'a lilnnaasi lalladhii bibakkata mubaarakan wahudan lil'aalamiina

inna
indeed

awwala
Alif-Waw-Lam - its origin or source; his or its original state,

baytin
house (please understand as monotheism)

wudhi'a
Waw-Dad-Ayn = the proper place of a thing.

lilnnāsi
for the mankind

lalladhī
those who

bibakkata
= Ba-Kaf-Kaf (e.g. bakka) = distinguishing/ranking above others

mubārakan
blessed

wahudan
and a guidance

lil'ālamīna
for the worlds.

3:96 Indeed, something that originated from monotheism (baytin) is a proper place for people who in the difference with another (in beliefs), which is blessed, and guidance for whole worlds.

And this verse also becomes clear to me,

2:189  They ask you regarding the crescent moons, say: "They are a timing mechanism for the mankind and the Hajj." And piety is not that you would enter the houses (monotheism) and become distinct <ẓuhūrihā>, but piety is whoever is righteous and comes to the houses (monotheism) in its proper manners <abwābihā> . And be aware of God that you may succeed.

ẓuhūrihā
Za-ha-Ra = become distinct, distinguish

abwābihā
Ba-Waw-Ba = mode/manner.

We should not be different from each other only cause of different creed as long as we worship the God alone.

Salaam.

Off-Topic / Tree of Life and Sunnatullah

Salaam,
To avoid out of topic in my previous post in flat earth thread before, I think  a new thread will be good to continue sharing my opinion about flat earth and the tree of life.

~Palm-tree model

https://free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9609156.msg414786#msg414786

Now I would like to share the importance of genealogy tree start from Adam and his companions down to us and to the last man standing on earth.

From Book of Enoch, we already knew that the God had wiped out almost all of the human being and the giants (nephilim) except the believers who followed prophet Noah.

Starting from the time of Enoch to Noah, humans and giants had reached a very high degree of civilization. They had very advanced technology and mastered science, as taught by the fallen angels.

And as per information from Quran below, we are not the greatest generation that ever lived on this earth, according to the following verse,

40:82 Have they not roamed the earth and noted the consequences for those who were before them? They used to be greater in number than them and mightier in strength, and they had built more in the land. Yet, all that they had earned could not avail them.

So I do believe that human population and their achievement has far more than that we ever see in what we called "modern history".

But as we know that they made a great damage and the giants became uncontrolled, they killed a lot of people , so Allah destroyed everything except Noah and his followers by sending a great flood.

And then after the flood, God reformed the earth,

7:56 And cause not corruption upon the earth after its reformation;

And God had promised will never send the flood again.

Genesis 9
11 And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

But however, the annihilation of the non-believers still continue,

17:17 And how many have We destroyed from the generations after Noah. And sufficient is your Lord, concerning the sins of His servants, as Acquainted and Seeing.

There is something big behind this and I started to realize God has a great scenario on earth, the sunnatullah.

Lets get back to the Torah to find out what the God's Covenant with our forefathers, Ibrahim, Ishaq and Yaqub

Abraham

2:124 And it was so, that Abraham was tested by commands from his Lord, which he fulfilled. He said: "I will make you a leader for the people." He said: "And also from my progeny?" He said: "My pledge will not encompass the wicked."

Genesis 17
5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

An everlasting covenant...

Genesis 22

17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

So it can not be denied that Abraham's descendants will rule the human population on this earth.

Now let see the Ishaq and Yaqub,

3 And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people;

4 And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham.

Genesis 28
3 And God Almighty bless thee (Yaqub), and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people;

4 And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham.

Why all of this is important?

Cause all scriptures shared the same information about how important the lineage of the people, and we can get a big picture where the world will lead us and show who we are, and where we going to.

Lets move to the Jacob and his children

The prophet Jacob had twelve sons of four wives,

Genesis 35

23 The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:

24 The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:

25 And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:

26 And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid: Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padanaram.

The descendants of these sons of Jacob are commonly called the Children of Israel.

From here the story continue, The children of Israel is a kind of sign from God,

12:7 In Joseph and his brothers are signs for those who seek.

God's scenario called Sunnatullah had been established from the beginning, that the lineage of Adam will pass through the Prophet Noah, to the prophets Abraham, Prophet Isaac, Jacob and his twelve of his sons who became the great nations of the earth.

It is mentioned in Quran that the Children of Israel will become a great population until the last day,

17:104 And We said after him to the Children of Israel: "Dwell on the earth, then, when the time of the second promise comes, We will bring you all together as a mixed crowd (abundant=lafifa).

Keeping the covenant

God's covenant with the prophets Abraham Isaac and Jacob is to make their descendants as many as the stars in the sky and sand on the seashore, as the great nations, until the last day surely will have consequences.

Reading the Torah, I became increasingly aware of why the history of the Children of Israel since Moses, Joshua, David, Solomon, etc. became full of bloodshed. The non-stop wars that occurred between the Children of Israel with the unbelievers, is not just to fight the non believers, but also to keep the lineage of Abraham-Isaac-Jacob in order to become the world's largest population at the end of time, according to the contents of the covenant.

So the non-believers population must be annihilated. Here is how God has commanded the children of Israel to fight the non believers,

Deuteronomy 7

2 And when the Lord thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:

3 Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

4 For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the Lord be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.

5 But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.

6 For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

7 The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:

8 But because the Lord loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the Lord brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

So all the battles, wars, bloodshed with no mercy at all is because God wants to keep his covenant with our fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to build a great nations of Bani Israel.

It's explained in Quran as follows,

6:45 It was thus that the remainder of the wicked people were wiped out; and praise be to God, Lord of the worlds.

God had been cut off their lineage.

13:41 Do they not see that We come to the earth and reduce their lineage from the ancestor <atrafiha>? And God gives judgment and there is none to override His judgment. And He is swift in reckoning.

Atrafiha = Tay ra fa = remoteness in lineage from the ancestor

tay_ra_fa" border="0

So the God covenant is true, the lineage on earth is purified which we have known through the path of Adam-Noah-Ibrahim-Isaac-Jacob and his twelve sons.

This path becomes more clear with the following gospel confirmations, telling about the last day,

Revelation 7

7 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.

6 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.

7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.

8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.

Only an hundred and forty and four thousand people and each twelve thousand people from each tribe of Israel (descendants of Jacob's sons) in the last days will be saved.

Then they will enter the twelve different gates of heaven for each tribe,

Revelation 21

11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

This is the vision and knowledge of prophet Jacob which told in Quran, when he ordered his children to enter the city to fetch Benjamin from the prophet Joseph,

12:67 And he said: "My sons, do not enter from one gate, but enter from separate gates; and I cannot avail you anything against God, for the judgment is to God. In Him I place my trust, and in Him those who place their trust should trust."

12:68 And when they entered from where their father had commanded them, it would not have availed them in the least against God, but it was out of a concern in the soul of Jacob that he brought out. And he is with knowledge for what We taught him, but most of the people do not know.

The prophet Jacob commanded his sons to enter through different gates, as a concern in his soul to see his descend safely entering the gate (heaven gates), as told in the gospel of revelation that each tribe of the Israel will enter through different heaven gates. Nevertheless, he insisted that it was not a guarantee, nothing useful at all, it all depends on God.

Jacob had that knowledge long before the gospel revealed.

From the Injil Revelation, I have a better understanding for this verse,

52:21 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained

From here, I also understand why the Torah is very detailed about the lineage, which turns out to be a grand design or sunnatullah based on the covenant which God made with the Prophets.

So to make a conclusion, here is the picture of the palm tree model regarding the earth population from the very beginning to the last day,

Science / Creation of the earth, sky and humanbeing
December 27, 2015, 11:36:33 AM
Salaam,

41:53   We will show them Our signs in the horizons, and within themselves, until it becomes clear to them that this is the truth. Is it not enough that your Lord is witness over all things?

I have been thinking of this verse, and tried to figure it out how to get into the horizons to find the truth.. The ladder to the sky or a tunnel in the earth..

6:35   And if their aversion has become too much for you, then perhaps you could make a tunnel in the earth, or a ladder to the sky, and bring them a sign. Had God willed, He would have gathered them to the guidance; so do not be of the ignorant ones.

Even the flat earth model makes this thing possible, but I know I have no power to go there unless the GOD willed. So for now, I have to look at the alternative solution..

The creation of human being.

17:99   Did they not see that God who has created the sky and the earth is able to create their like? And He has made an appointed time for them in which there is no doubt. But the wicked refuse anything except rejection.

So the creation of the earth and sky is the same with the creation of human being.

40:57   The creation of the sky and the earth is greater than the creation of the people, but most of the people do not know.

But different in scale..

So they must be based on the same principle..

so according to Genesis:

Genesis 1:6-8
And God said, "Let there be a FIRMAMENT in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven

God separate the water below the firmament and the water above the firmament..

Compare to the creation of the human being:

I think the 'dome' inside the womb has protected the "water below" - the amniotic fuid, to enter the above layer..

21:30   Have those who rejected not seen that the sky and the earth were one piece, so We split them apart? And that We have made from the water everything that lives. Will they not believe?

And from the water God has made the 'living' things..

Same principle applied for both creation.

This comparison is not just explain what already happened in the past, but also what will happen in the future.

To make it easier to understand, here is the story  about two babies in the womb.

Do you believe in mom?

In a mother?s womb were two babies. One asked the other:
?Do you believe in life after delivery?? The other replied, ?Why, of course. There has to be something after delivery. Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later.?

?Nonsense? said the first. ?There is no life after delivery. What kind of life would that be??

The second said, ?I don?t know, but there will be more light than here. Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat from our mouths. Maybe we will have other senses that we can?t understand now.?

The first replied, ?That is absurd. Walking is impossible. And eating with our mouths? Ridiculous! The umbilical cord supplies nutrition and everything we need. But the umbilical cord is so short. Life after delivery is to be logically excluded.?

The second insisted, ?Well I think there is something and maybe it?s different than it is here. Maybe we won?t need this physical cord anymore.?

The first replied, ?Nonsense. And moreover if there is life, then why has no one has ever come back from there? Delivery is the end of life, and in the after-delivery there is nothing but darkness and silence and oblivion. It takes us nowhere.?

?Well, I don?t know,? said the second, ?but certainly we will meet Mother and she will take care of us.?

The first replied ?Mother? You actually believe in Mother? That?s laughable. If Mother exists then where is She now??

The second said, ?She is all around us. We are surrounded by her. We are of Her. It is in Her that we live. Without Her this world would not and could not exist.?

Said the first: ?Well I don?t see Her, so it is only logical that She doesn?t exist.?

To which the second replied, ?Sometimes, when you?re in silence and you focus and you really listen, you can perceive Her presence, and you can hear Her loving voice, calling down from above.?

Yup, God is surround us. Please be aware that this story is just for the illustration, not represent the GOD himself, but at least can help you to understand the situation.

As the babies had no idea what will come to them on the life after birth.. and so do we for the life after death..

32:17   No person knows what is being hidden for them of joy, as a reward for what they used to do.

I have been thinking of the pregnancy and birth process..

22:5   O people, if you are in doubt as to the resurrection, then We have created you from dust, then from a seed, then from an embryo, then from a fetus developed and undeveloped so that We make it clear to you. And We settle in the wombs what We wish to an appointed time..

30:8   Did they not reflect upon themselves? God did not create the sky and the earth and what is between them except with truth and an appointed time. But most of the people are in denial regarding their meeting with their Lord.

Pregnancy has an appointed time.. so does the universe...

55:37   When the sky is torn, and turns like a rose colored paint.

69:16   And the sky will be torn, and on that Day it will be flimsy (weak).

78:19   And the sky is opened, so it becomes gates

And what are the stages of labor and birth?

I think the bleeding make it turns to red.. and cervix gradually effaces (thins out) and dilates (opens).

So talk about the scale comparison,.. appointed time is around 6 months for the pregnancy (first 3 months doesn't count in Quran related to iddah period).. And the universe itself has the appointed in time.. But no, I don't bother myself to calculate it..   :D Cause only God knows when it will happen.

It's enough for me to make me understand the creation of this universe.. There will be a second confirmation from the God at the horizons. I hope it will be revealed soon.. to see the mankind entering the god system in flocks.

Salaam..

Pilgrimage (Hajj) / Bakka is here
February 24, 2012, 02:35:57 PM
Salam,
I've been search for a place called Bakkah for a long time, but could not find it anywhere. Until I realized that I'm asking wrong question about Bakkah. To understand what bakkah is, I need to clarify the related words come up in the same context such as bayt, hajj, and what the things Ibrahim and Ishmael have done in the past, according to Quran. Let's get into the verses:

=Bayt=
There's a lot of verses talking about bayt in Quran, both physically and metaphorically. but clearly, we can distinguish them by look at the context. Here is the example how to treat the word 'bayt' taught by Allah:

29:41 The parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of the spider, who builds (to itself) a house<baytan>; but truly the weakest of houses <buyuti>is the spider?s house <baytu>;- if they but knew.

29:42 And such are the Parables We set forth for mankind, but only those understand them who have knowledge.

This verse has described the Polytheism belief as weakest house metaphorically. So we knew that when a verse talk about a house or bayt, followed by a statement regarding either polytheism or monotheism, the house(s) or bayt here must be understood metaphorically.

For example :

16:26   Those before them had schemed, so God came to their buildings from the foundation, thus the roof fell on top of them; and the retribution came to them from where they did not know.
16:27   Then, on the Day of Resurrection He will humiliate them, and say: "Where are My partners regarding whom you used to dispute?" Those who have received the knowledge said: "The humiliation today and the misery are upon the rejecters."

In 16:26, it talks about a building which its roof has fell down. And this verse followed by a question regarding God's partner confirming polytheism practiced by some people. It means that the buildings here must be understood metaphorically, just like the spider's house mentioned in 24:91.

And another parable has explained by God in following verses:

24:35    Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The Parable of His Light is as if there were a Niche and within it a Lamp: the Lamp enclosed in Glass: the glass as it were a brilliant star: Lit from a blessed Tree, an Olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil is well-nigh luminous, though fire scarce touched it: Light upon Light! Allah doth guide whom He will to His Light: Allah doth set forth Parables for men: and Allah doth know all things.

24:36 In houses <buyuutin>, which Allah hath permitted to be raised; for the celebration, in them, of His name: In them is He glorified in the mornings and in the evenings,-

In 24:35, Allah has described Himself using parable. And do you recall a house which its foundation has been raised up by Ibrahim and Ishmael? It's one of the houses raised up as mentioned in 24:36.

Let's take closer to the verses:

2:127    And as Abraham raised from the Sanctuary its foundations, along with Ishmael: "Our Lord accept this from us, You are the Hearer, the Knowledgeable."
22:26   And We have appointed to Abraham the location of the House: "Do not set up anyone with Me, and purify My House for those who visit, and those who are standing, and the kneeling, and the prostating."

As you can see, the word house here has followed by the command not to set up any Idol, confirming Monotheism. So the house here must be understood metaphorically. This house is not laid in physical place but it's explain about the monotheism. And it's the opposite of polytheism, the spider's house.

Now, it's clear about the bayt. Let's move to another word, Hajj.

=Hajj=

Since the Bayt itself is not a physical place, the word hajj automatically has nothing to do with a physical journey. So what's the hajj then? Hajj is the calling to monotheism for the mankind.
In lane lexicon, triliteral root word Haa-Jiim-Jiim = to intend to a certain target. And the target is bayt, the monotheism.

The only acceptable word for different people with different background of beliefs is just monotheism. That's why we are commanded not to arguing during the hajj:

2:197 ...no arguing in the hajj;

It's because we are told to talk about the only acceptable words for whole mankind : God alone.

22:67   ...So do not let the matter fall into dispute. And call upon your Lord, for you are on a guidance which is straight.

Now it's clear that the purpose of Hajj is to call the people which likely has different creed, and different qiblah as well, to God alone.

Hajj also has rites called Safa and Marwa also known as signs of God. Phrase signs of God also mentioned in 22:36.

2:158   Indeed, Safa and Marwa are among the signs of God.
22:36   And the plump livestock, We have made them for you to be among the signs of God; you will have benefit in them. So mention the name of God upon them in lined up <Sawāffa> ; when they are down on their sides, you may eat from them and feed with them the poor and the needy. It was thus that We have made them in service to you, that you may be thankful.

Since there is no physical place get involved, Safa and Marwa must be translated literally:

Safa/Sawaffa
= Sad-Fa-Fa = side by side, laid out, a rank/row/line

Marwa
= Miim-Ra-Waw = the stone on which an animal is slaughtered.

So the signs of God is the plump livestock lined up and get slaughtered.

It's in line with the God's command to every people (ummah) to perform a rites (mansakan):

22:67   For every people (ummah) We have established rites which they are to fulfill. So do not let the matter fall into dispute. And call upon your Lord, for you are on a guidance which is straight.

And that rites is:

22:34   And for every people (ummah) We have established rites that they may mention the name of God over what He has provided for them of the animal livestock. Your god is One god; submit to Him and give good tidings to those who obey.

Once again, the rites is for every people (ummah), means everyone which likely coming from many different beliefs.

So now we have two places has been translated into words which match into the context. Now let's move to Bakkah, the place which had been lost for many years.

=Bakka=

Bakka, since it's related to the Bayt, which has been understood as non physical structure, so nothing can stop us to do the same thing with Bakkah.

3:96 inna awwala baytin wudhi'a lilnnaasi lalladhii bibakkata mubaarakan wahudan lil'aalamiina

I've put my translation, word by word as follows:

inna

indeed

awwala

Alif-Waw-Lam - its origin or source; his or its original state,

baytin
house (please understand it metaphorically as monotheism)

wudhi'a
Waw-Dad-Ayn = the proper place of a thing.

lilnnāsi
for the mankind

lalladhī

those who

bibakkata
= Ba-Kaf-Kaf (e.g. bakka) = distinguishing/ranking above others

mubārakan

blessed

wahudan
and a guidance

lil'ālamīna
for the worlds.

So the verse will be:

3:96 Indeed, something that originated from monotheism (baytin) is a proper place for people who in the difference with another (in beliefs), which is blessed, and guidance for whole worlds.

This translation makes sense to me because it's in line with the purpose of hajj. But since I'm not good enough in Arabic, especially in grammar, any comments and input, really appreciated.

Peace

Pilgrimage (Hajj) / 16:26 vs 2:127
February 17, 2012, 10:09:03 AM
Salam,
please take look at the following verses:

16:26   Those before them had schemed, so God came to their buildings from the foundation (qawaid), thus the roof fell on top of them; and the retribution came to them from where they did not know.
16:27   Then, on the Day of Resurrection He will humiliate them, and say: "Where are My partners regarding whom you used to dispute?" Those who have received the knowledge said: "The humiliation today and the misery are upon the rejecters."

Does two verses above become the opposite of another 'qawaid' stated in the following verses?

2:127    And as Abraham raised from the Sanctuary its foundations (qawaid), along with Ishmael: "Our Lord accept this from us, You are the Hearer, the Knowledgeable."
22:26   And We have appointed to Abraham the location of the House: "Do not set up anyone with Me, and purify My House for those who visit, and those who are standing, and the kneeling, the prostrating."

One thing crossing in my mind that the "foundation(s)" means something which related to basic belief in the existence of God, either monotheism or polytheism, confirmed by 16:27 and 22:26.

What do you think guys?
