General Issues / Questions / Secularism or Islam?
May 05, 2007, 02:06:47 PM
Peace upon all?It has been a long time.

With recent heat in Turkey, one begins to wonder whether Islam should be separated from the state. The problem ignites when people presume Islam as a religion. Or one of the religions! In fact Islam is not a religion. From the Quran it?s obvious that secularism is recommended, as "there is not compulsion in the deen"! Hence, we wonder sometimes "how then what is in the Quran can be applied if there is no compulsion in the deen? The answer to this is the Truth stands clear from Error. What is recommended from our Creator is to uphold the truth. The truth we rationally-scientifically evaluate. It can be from ancient civilisation, the Quran or any other medium. I do not see what the problem is with the west and the people who follow the Islamic Religions, which is not Islam! Or what?s happening is Turkey is more sinister? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks

Discuss Latest World News / Carbon Trading???
January 28, 2007, 04:57:37 AM
Salam!

I do get very confused why some people especially in the UK suddenly rallying to save the enviornment? Is there really something wrong or is there something more sinister? I am suggesting this because even if enviornemt (nature) is changing around us it could be a normal mechanism the earth go through, for example Greenland was green not white when the Chinese discovered the Americas and the rest of the world. When C.  Columbus was pissing in his nappies.

Comments suggestions please.

General Issues / Questions / What really is Scientology?
November 19, 2006, 07:29:49 AM
Want to know opinion of people who know about this. I have been searching Google but the information is conflicting and not taking me anywere, apart from the teaching of Scientology of taking the soul back to total freedom.

Anybody know what really is the driving force of this religion? Is this another Mormon religion?

General Issues / Questions / Bouble standards
October 28, 2006, 04:59:21 AM
Monday, 23 October 2006

The hypocrisy and double standards of the media and government establishments against Muslims was recently displayed yet again.

Both failed to publicise the appearance of two Pendle men before Pennine magistrates accused of having ?a master plan? to carry out acts after what was believed to be a record haul of chemicals used in making home-made bombs in Colne.

Robert Cottage (49), of Talbot Street, Colne, and David Bolus Jackson (62), of Trent Road, Nelson, made separate appearances before the court charged with being in possession of an explosive substance for an unlawful purpose. The offences are under the Explosive Substances Act 1883. Both men were remanded in custody on the 6th October. Cottage was arrested at his home, whilst the retired dentist Jackson was arrested in Lancaster, the same day as he left a dental practice in Grangeover- Sands.

The 22-chemical components recovered by police are believed to be the largest haul ever found at a house in this country. Cottage is an ex-BNP member who stood as a candidate in the Pendle Council elections in May. The prosecutors said a search of Jackson?s home uncovered rocket launchers, chemicals, BNP literature and a nuclear biological suit.

Whilst Muslims are regularly harrassed by the media, attacked by thugs and insulted by Islamophobic politicians, this story never made it past the local press to the national newspaper or tv media, either because they were not aware of it, which is highly unlikely or perhaps this story did not suit their agenda of attacking Muslims.

Maybe if the individuals concerned, looked more Asian or had a beard, the news agencies would have paid more attention.

Needless to say, if one speculates who the intended targets or victims could have been, the blame no doubt would have fallen onto Muslims had these individuals been allowed to carry out their terrorist activities.

Is there a limit in the application of science to understand God?

I have always been doctrinated that "God" is outside of his creation, which suggest obviously that he is ouside the laws of physics. Is this a valid assumption? What is the view regarding this in the Quran? Is there indeed a boundry that science cannot cross?

Thanks for your contributions.

Salam,

I came across an article in the New Scientist discribing Naught America and Light District Center, two new Cybersex games. My immediate thought was whether these gonna grow crazy and breed more perverts, and was wondering whether this abomination would be considered fornication?

Cheers,

Before writing this I was wondering whether I should place it under the science section, but decided to place this article under the general section as I think it can fit in the context of general analysis.

When it comes to the soul its goes beyond the boundaries of contemporary science and enters the folds of the  theoretical/philosophical or metaphysical. I do not agree that the human brain is the conscious/creative or the "hard-disc" to store information. What I really think is that it is a "connection" with the soul, which distinguish us from the rest of the animal kingdom. However, when it comes to genetics, there is a link here. As the genetic information is to determine the organisation and the complexity of the brain or the "receiver" of the soul.

It is true that the devil or what ever you call it has been around projecting its influence for the destruction of Adam (Man) through suggestions. As there are devils among man, could it be possible that these have been some form of biologically tempering of the human/soul connection (the brain) through genetic engineering from the beginning of time, through acquiring the technique from extraterrestrials visits to Egyptians, Mayan, Sumerians and the Aztecs?

Having been placed in a guest house by my company (Sigma) for a few days with three dogs, I have learned a lot about them. Although, I have some experience with dogs when I was young, now I learned a lot about these creatures. They greet me every morning, they are nice and friendly. Its amazing how loyal these animals are, although I never feed them, with all sorts of characters. Although these are one of the greatest blessings of God, its amazing how much crap has been attributed to dogs by traditionalist or fake Muslims, to be more precise. Where as all other prople respect dogs. It is believed by traditionalist that dogs are dirty, unclean, angles do not come to houses where there is a dog???, and its commanded to kill a black dog if you see one, because its a satan!!! (why black?). To be true, men need dogs and dogs really do not need us. However, their nature is to be with us, because they need love and care from us. Thats how they are designed by God, its simple they just need our attention. This is nothing compared to what they do for us. In a nutshell, I would say an average Great Dane or an Australian Dingo is more cleaver than an average selfish Salafi or Molvi. May God's peace and blessings be upon all dogs.

Salam,

What Quran means by one God? Is it an isolated singularity which controls/knows everything, or is it a "single" unifying force before the creation and comprehended/controlled  everything after it created everything/universe?

What is 1 God?

General Issues / Questions / Be simple!
April 30, 2006, 01:30:58 PM
Hi everybody on Free-minds. This is just a suggestion. Often, the replies by most people are so long, involving cutting and pasteing from other materials. This makes people really mad, as it is not necessary and a waste of time, although I agree that sometimes a long post is necessary. Could everyone be more specific/concise and make it simple so we all can digest the information and reply if necessary.

I am aware as according to my knowledge from the Quran that Abrahim named us Muslims, is this true, and is it probably because of this people call themselves Muslims? People do not often talk about/discuss faith nowadays and when I am asked whether I am a Muslim, I do not feel that comfortable to answer, as I think its is something private. Although I do say yes. Any the person normally say "so you don't eat pork"?

Some Jews call themselves non-jewish jews. Can the message be propagated withoud a logo? Do you think we have to call ouselves Muslims?

It is well known that lots of people around the world cremate dead people. I sometimes think this causes the depletion of nutrients, proteins, nucleotides etc etc from the environment and hence the ecosystem/food-chain. Is it right or wrong to cremate the dead :?:  Although circumstances where there are disasters cremation might be necessary for the control of the spread of diseases.

Salam everyone,

I am worried seeing people worshiping God towards Mecca/Kabba/cube/blackstone, particularly my parents and friends. When I want to clarify this I am treated as someone who has gone mad and basically someone who left Islam! My worry is will these people go to hell :?:  as according to the Reading if they die like this :?: . I am trying my best but it makes me more worried as it is very very difficult to convince them. The reply is always that there are millions of Muslims doing 5 prayers towards Mecca and that I am the one who is bewitched by the Internet and after getting a PhD. I am confused and really sad by all this.

Peace
