There is a lot of evidence Quran has been modified, most likely up until the 8th century.  See Sanaa psalimpsests, the work of Gerd R. Puin, the work of Guillaume Dye, Manfred Kropp, Patricia Crone and many others.  It's not because you choose to remain ignorant to the evidence provided by the above that it means Quran is still original.

Peace

And if the recent quranic fragment was similar to the text we have today, would this change your opinion?

Questions/Comments on the Quran / 86:7

Peace:

This verse is often translated as 'between the backbone and the ribs'. However, it is clear that the root of al sulbi and al taraibi means 'something firm' and 'dust'.

Now, when the verse talks about how we are made and talks of the gushing forth from something that is hard, doesn't that make you think of only one thing?

Do I need to spell it out?

As for the latter word, I've yet to figure that out.

But certainly some say there are no contempory sources that mention Mecca for 100-200 years after the death of Muhammad.

I have often wondered if some amongst the "Quranist" community have clandestine/hidden agendas. This could also include authors of works from any sect.

Are there signs that suggest no agenda / agenda etc? If so, what would they be?

Backing the zionists?

Backing the wars sponsored by western 'jihadis'?

General Issues / Questions / Re: Channel 4 Documentary

Every so often, there is some issue which shows the sectarians in the true light of day for what they are - backward reactionaries. How could anyone interested in Islam hate this program done by real academics, in a serious tone on prime time TV.

Even if it is garbage (which it isn't), surely it is better than the routine offerings of pornography and vanity that occupy so much TV?

They need to answer, the lack of the mention of Mecca is the earliest sources, for one thing. The guy came so close to the truth (that real Islam was changed in the post Muhammad era to what it is today, and the beliefs of today are merely myths built upon these shaky foundations), he almost touched it, but didn't know what he was looking for.
