This is good and bad news.

Our existence has been acknowledged. The true message of the Quran is feared and there will be resistance against it. This is inevitable.

The bad news is that people will be oppressed. All I can do is pray for these people, that God gives them strength and protects them.

If these things become more and more common we will need to work to publicise the plight of these people so that awareness is raised of the oppression.

I agree with Wakas. There is nothing in the Quran prohibiting women from leading in any context, that includes prayer.

I wonder when our mosques will turn into inclusive spaces for men, women and children.

Can I just remind people of the tone of discussion required on these forums.

Saying Kashmiris can go to Hell is wrong. They are suffering. What is true is that Pakistan is overwhelmed with the trouble it has within it's own borders.

the ban is dictatorial and undemocratic. I don't agree with wearing the veil. doesn't mean I agree with the ban either.

I'd agree with those who posted that the Quran does not talk of six literal days, but of six stages/phases of time. Time is relative, as implied in the Quran.

Don't forget, the Quran does not state that the earth is 6,000 years old and does not explicitly contradict the current scientific understanding that the universe and the earth are WELL over 6,000 years old.

This was an incredible film. It really was. Was Christopher Nolan paying a homage to Islam? I doubt it.

But I think it's no coincidence that the person who is in charge of the dreams and in the driver seat is called Yusuf. I believe that he did what all good writers do and that is reference and draw from a rich tapestry of cultures and storytelling traditions.

Salaam.

I don't think anyone is trying to change the way someone prays, fasts etc. What we are trying to do with The Natural Republic is to present findings based on the Quran. Those findings will fly in the face of what we have been taught over the years, but it's still important to put the ideas out there to provoke thought and discussion and study of the Quran.
