Title: Why does God test us?

They will have no argument except to say: "By Allah, our LordLaw (of Nature), we were not idolaters (unnaturalist)." See how they will lie about themselves, and all that they used to forge will vanish from them. (Q6:23-24)

When your Lord took out all their descendants from the loins of the children of Adam and made them testify against themselves "Am I not your LordLaw (of Nature)?" they said, "We testify that indeed You are!" Lest you say on the Day of Rising, "We knew nothing of this." (Q7:172)

What defines you?

They deceive no one but themselves but they are not aware of it. (Q2:9)
