Ants and Solomon's Army

Some people today ask how the ants were able to recognize Prophet Solomon in the incident described in Surat al-Naml. Let us answer;

Solomon's army consisted not only of men but also of jinn and birds:

Holy Quran

27:16 Solomon became heir to David and said: "O people, we have been taught the language of birds and we have been given a little of everything. Surely this is a manifest favor."

27:17 Armies of jinn, men and birds were gathered together before Solomon. They were dispatched in an orderly manner.

27:18 When they came at last to the valley of ants, a female ant said: "O ant community, go back into your nests, lest Solomon and his armies overtake you unawares."

21:79 And We bestowed upon Solomon the gift of understanding, and We gave to each of them knowledge and wisdom, and We placed at the command of David the mountains and the birds, and We had made them.

As seen in the verses, Prophet Solomon is in communication with birds, jinn and even mountains. In other words, nature/all living creatures knew him closely. The name/fame of him and his army was on the lips of all animals at that time. Also, such a formidable army would have been easily recognized by everyone as they all came together in unison. And again, the communication of birds, which are part of this crowd, with other creatures in nature should not be forgotten. So it is not necessary for the ants to recognize Prophet Solomon individually, but because they recognize his army, they retreat to their nests to avoid being crushed.

It is also reported in the Qur'an that all living creatures, except some humans, constantly remember Allah.

In short, if one day we decipher the language of insects, animals and all of nature with technology, you will see that they know much more than you think.

By the way, it was previously accepted that ants sign with hormones without using sound. But it has now been revealed that ants speak with sound, as the Qur'an says:
