Masturbation is a very controversial topic among Muslims and Most Muslims wrongly believe that masturbation is haram in Islam. They wrongly quote the below verse in the Quran.

"And those who guard their chastity. Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, - for them, they are free from blame. But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors." (Al Quran-23.5-7 )

The above mentioned verse only talks about sexual relations between persons other than your wives and slaves
and masturbation is only a thing that you engage with your self.  Many including imam Shafi have tried to derive a meaning as if masturbation is haram. When you look clearly there is no mention of the word masturbation being forbidden. the word" But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors." as being taken out of context and interpreted to mean that the masturbator is a transgressor as he is seeking something beyond what his right hand posesses. This verse only means about homosexuality and fornication. and Allah(awt) and his rasool(sal) have clearly explained in the Quran and Sunnah of what is sexual transgression. and sexual transgression is adultery, fornication, homosexuality because these are what that have being clearly being forbidden in the Quran and the Sunnah.

Imam C.J Ahmed has written a brilliant article on why masturbation is not haram and in fact it is a gift from Allah(Swt) to mankind. Please click here https://cjislam.weebly.com/why-masturbation-is-not-haram.html to read the article. My question is, what do you Quranists believe about masturbation?

As long as your masturbation does not involve violating quranic commandment 24:30-31 that is looking at naked bodies of others(i,e porn) I don't see any prohibition.

My Reply,
I cannot fathom why you would take Shabir Ally's opinion if you are a Quranist. The verses in 24:30-31 talk only about guarding the private parts and that would mean that you can watch porn according to the Quran opinion while masturbating because Quran does not unequivocally state that porn is haram.

I don't see him using any hadith here.

Verses 24:30-31 talks about lowering your gaze as well by which I understand not to look at the private parts.

salam

i know this is an older post but i would like to nonetheless reply with my opinion if that's okay :)

for me it is clear that masturbation is no permitted

my opinion:

part of verse 151 from surah 6 states :

"and do not approach immoralities - what is apparent of them and what is concealed"

that for me includes masturbation - it is definately an indecency, and also when one does so they imagine things in their minds and that qualifies as "what is concealed"

Masturbation in which Islam ?

The state of mind Islam is about "cleansing our soul" and following the best advice/instructions from GOD s scripture.
There are many habits difficult for us to control that in reality become an obsession and a burden. and masturbation is one of those habits
Of course we cannot say some habits like masturbation is haram or halal, but we can say other things bout it,regardless of religious beliefs like:

Some definite hints that you are engaging in excessive masturbation, would include:
Signs of compulsive sexual behavior would include engaging in the behavior more often or for longer than you want to, continuing even though you don't want to, continuing even though it has negative functional, physical, or psychological consequences (like neglecting work to go masturbate instead), and constantly being preoccupied with the behavior. If you're just not able to stop even though you want to, that's a sign of an addiction to masturbation. That is not a clinical diagnosis, by the way, but this kind of compulsion could definitely meet the criteria for a behavioral addiction in general.
You are hurting your body — your skin is red, swollen, raw, and painful.
Your compulsive masturbation is part of a wider addiction to adult materials.

In addition, if masturbation makes you feel bad or guilty, that's a problem. Or If masturbation is getting in the way of a healthy relationship with your partner, that also signifies a problem, even if you don't do it very often. (Whether the problem is with your partner or your habits would depend on the situation, yes?)

So, what about the effects of over-masturbation?
The effects of excessive masturbation could roughly be separated into two domains — physical and psychological.
Physically, excessive masturbation may cause damage to your skin, through skin irritation, skin abrasions, or even superficial bruising, as well as sometimes urticaria.

In some — exceedingly rare — cases, this damage can even become life-threatening. There is a case in the medical literature where a previously healthy young man in his twenties developed Fournier's gangrene, a kind of necrotizing fasciitis (flesh-eating disease) of the genital region after excessive masturbation.

It turned out that this man had been using soap as a lubricant, which is definitely a bad idea, and his genital region — photographed for research — looked like a massacre. The moral of the story is to see a doctor if you have any physical complaints, and to take a break from sex of any kind if you notice any genital symptoms.

Mentally, once you enter compulsive territory and you lose control over your behavior, you are in trouble. As with any behavioral addiction, one in which you are addicted to masturbation could harm your mental health, your relationship with other people, your financial status, and totally take over your life. When it gets to this point, you need help.

In some cases, neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease can also lead to compulsive sexual behavior that can include masturbation, and people with intellectual disabilities may display sexual behavior that is deeply uncomfortable to the people who surround them, too. This means the mental consequences may affect more than the person themselves; others could suffer, as well.

One may argue that I am only including the cons of masturbation, but instinctively it out weights the pros. why?
Because one is not following the best advice of GOD s scripture to stay away from anything that potentially harms us.
But each is free to their choices and decisions.
GOD bless you all.
Peace.

While orgasms and sexual experiences can vary for individuals, it's essential to approach these discussions with respect and open-mindedness.
If you're interested in exploring adult content from different regions, platforms like Phim Sex Hàn Quốc sex videos can provide you with insights and resources related to various topics, including sexuality and erotic content.
Remember, every individual's experiences are unique, and open communication, consent, and mutual satisfaction are vital in any sexual encounter. It's crucial to prioritize the well-being and pleasure of all parties involved.

GOD has closed all the loopholes.
GOD said: "Do not say ,with what your assumptions desire, this is Halal -Allowed- Or this is Haram" -not allowed-

Of course GOD has not said masturbation is haram or halal .There are many grey areas where GOD has left it to our responsibility.
Those who do are responsible like those who do not.
It depends on what harms you or benefits you.
Weight up the pros and cons of what you do in your life, You are accountable only for you.
Masturbation can become a bad habit even after marriage. Check the medical cases and the addictions out there.

Masturbation is absolutely halal.

If something is haram, it is stated in the verses. Reading books can also be addictive and even terribly harmful (books that instil poisonous misinformation and ideas, etc.), but this does not change the fact that reading books is a great blessing.

Brother Emre, Why do you use language like "bigots" for folks ?

Whether people read books or do not read books, masturbate or do not masturbate ,they have he same freedom of choice you have.

Also what has reading books got to do with masturbation?
Qoran clearly instruct to read the book, but you will never find it instructing you to masturbate. Same as it is not saying it is haram.
What you say is your own opinion, and what I say is also my opinion. The difference is I do not call anyone out of respect for their freedom of choice.
I say my bit and you say yours ,people can choose for themselves like you and I do. No need to use inappropriate language brother.
Of course you have the freedom to do as you please, I am only clarifying for you the etiquette and manners instructed in Qoran that you and I claim to be following.
Thank you  brother.
GOD bless you.

Peace All.
Just a general comment from me about masturbation.
It's hard to say how much masturbating counts as excessive masturbation because it varies from person to person. It might be more helpful to ask yourself how you feel about masturbating.

For some people, masturbating frequently is out of habit , however some feel a compulsion to masturbate.

The following signs might suggest you would benefit from reaching out for support:

you're having difficulty with work or school because of a constant need to masturbate
you miss out on social activities or appointments to masturbate
you feel little pleasure while masturbating
you're doing it because you feel you must, not because you want to
you find it hard to stop or reduce masturbating.

Excessive masturbation might lead to some side effects, and it is possible to develop a compulsion to masturbate excessively. It can become a harmful addiction.

If you're experiencing difficulties masturbating, or having side effects you're not comfortable with, consider reaching out to a mental health professional.
GOD bless you all.

I do agree with brother Emery that masturbation has not been prohibited. I think actually it can suppress your sexual stress with if not, it can cause you to commit sexual immorality. This is just my opinion

Yes, masturbation is one of the grave sins in Islam, and there are many Hadith mentioning the side-effects and negativity associated with masturbation.

However, it only applies to the particular context of masturbation, i.e. one person doing it to the self. Such acts during intercourse with the spouse is allowed.
