Is it okay to masturbate to fictional character ?

I apologized in advanced if this sounds like a stupid question. I am new to this website, and indeed I am new to this whole Quranism.

I've been lurking for a bit on this forum, one of the topic being in regards to masturbation and pornography. As far as i can gather, the
general consensus on those discussion are as follow :
1. That masturbation is allowed (After all, though we are commanded to guard our private parts, you can't really 'guard' it from yourself).
2. Yet despite the above, watching pornography is wrong because it involves the exploitation and degradation of women, many who are
    unwilling/pressured by circumstances to do so.

Now on to the question : If we were to expand upon those two lines of thought, does this mean that masturbating to a fictional character is
okay ? I mean, the object in question does not exist in real life, so no one is being harmed.

Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

i think mastrubation is forbidden as per surah 6 verse 151 (part of the verse below)

"...  that you do not come near indecencies, of what is evident or what is concealed ..."

i understand "concealed" to be what is in our minds and when one masturbates one usually thinks of indecencies

and intuitively my understanding is that masturbation is not okay

so in my opinion masturbation is forbidden

I would have thought it should be what Qoran indicates ,not the general consensus of folks. Unless of course you have checked that the general consensus agrees with Qoran,if one follows Qoran.

I have this question, does the act involves any goodness to others and helps others or its more of a selfish act, i feel its the second and so needs to be not so good in God's goodness natural way.
