It's 100 lashes for anyone who has sex out of the bounds of marriage, adulterers and fornicators. But this should be looked at more as a compensation instead of a punishment.

Lost Philosopher

Though it might be in the quran, I dont think we should take such a violent punishment, whiping is a punishment not favored by many other nations.
Everything I say or do is either to gain knowledge and strengthen my philosophy or to express and explain that philosophy. -LP

Peace,

We need to follow what is in the Quran not what other nations do. However looking at the word ajlada and jildatun, this is a punishment which is not intended to break skin or cause any sort of bleeding. Another meaning of jalada is 'to be thrown down.' We should analyze this word fully before making a decision. But if lashing is the most logical then we must take this path. As I said I think that this should be voluntary compensation, but not complying with it means that one does not comply with God and the Quran which should have severe community reprecussions.

In the Quran there is a great emphasis in looking at God's signs, which can be easily translated into science and technology and research in all aspect of world and heaven's.

So in my opinion, in any God/Quran alone community/state, there will be people who will be top-scientists and lead world in the every aspect of the world.

New generation of technology/newest research should come from this community as they will be exemplary people of the world. so this community/state should have great new generation schools and big funds for science research in all areas.

Following invention/research is (from top of my head) which I think this ideal community can immediately starts if get established:

1) Build Quantum Computers
2) Unified physical laws (merge Quantum mechanics and Relativity)
3) Get ahead on space exploration
4) Establish disease control centers/research for poor/third world countries
6) Establish Biotech and nanotechnology centers
7) Reasearch Global warming and environment impact

Please feel free to add into the list

Peace,

Wow, Kashif. Let's start with the small steps first. Knowledge and education should be very primary focus of ours for the development of our community but these are goals that can only happen after we have successfully established our community, and God knows best who he will give this knowledge to. Lastly, we should look to form a tight community NOT a State. A State is a pseudo-empire, all states are, they are built to control and our community is not built to control but to guide, better ourselves and live by the Quran. We should look at this as if we were a Quranic monk order (to give an example) striving to support each other wherever we are, convening on common grounds wherever we may find ourselves and seeking to provide for ourselves and better ourselves. Things like Quranist Universities and such are a very, very long way down the road, to the point that it is not completely worth thinking on yet.

Kashif

peace anwar,

Of course my post only described the some of ideal charactertics of the ideal Muslim community/state, and of course we have to take baby steps first before we start running.

QuoteThings like Quranist Universities and such are a very, very long way down the road, to the point that it is not completely worth thinking on yet.

Quran clearly invited people to look at his signs in the universe and inside ourself, now this community (like you mentioned) need to start obeying this simple command right from the beginning.

I have few questions for you:
Let's say we form a quran alone community and  community get bigger as more people will see the benefits

1) Does this community need a leadership?
2) Does this community decide the punishment for wrongdoing according to Quran
3) Does this community will defend itself when in response to any attack?

Now if you answer 'Yes' to any of the above question, its not a community anymore it getting into a statehood. and this is what I meant when I mentioned 'state'.

OPF

1.) No. It requires equality
2.) Yes. Most of the Quranic punishments can be implemented in a community. The more serious ones, definitely need a state.
3.) Depends.

Quote1) Does this community need a leadership?

Not it needs honest representation and good organization. (shooraa)

Quote2) Does this community decide the punishment for wrongdoing according to Quran?

Not punishment. Compensation. These are the compensations that God requires for those who commit crimes within our communit and who wish to remain in good standing with God (and our community).

Quote3) Does this community will defend itself when in response to any attack?

A security plan where everyone in the community is trained and involved is enough. That means a workable security plan (from minimal to maximum) needs to be implemented for our protection. In most cases we can use the laws of states already in place to bring about a nuetralizing of any threat to us (there are private security companies out there that train like militaries to protect companies, we can do the same to protect our communities. These security companies, like us, are only there to protect their goods.) We should never have an agenda to topple any governments nor should we ever be about responding to attacks. We are about defending ourselves and nuetralizing real threats to us, which can be done in a number of ways. Consider it like this, everyone in a Quranist community should be in the Quranist reserves. When we need to defend our community we are there and we know how to defend each other, whether that be through the laws of the land through lawyers or it be through violence if needed to defend our homes and families. I think if we live in somewhat civilized democartic countries then we can use the laws of the land against our enemies, that is why we also need to promote the mastery of law even in the lands we live (to use it against our enemies) but also never forget our laws that apply to us and only us.

I can't stress this enough. NO STATE, NO STATE and NO STATE. ORGANIZATION, BROTHERHOOD AND COOPERATION. NO PUNISHMENTS. COMPENSATIONS. NO TAXES. PLANS OF CONTRIBUTION. NO LEADERSHIP. MUTUAL CONSULATION & REPRESENTATION. NO MILITARIES OR STANDING MILITARIES. ALL-INCLUSIVE, CONSTANT & LOGISTICAL PLANS OF SECURITY & PROTECTION (including appropriate physical force & legal force).

We are not trying to create our own country. We are trying to create our own community and that is it. You guys are going down the road of independence movements who want to carve their own lands out of already establish countries. Like the Kurds or other ethnicities. This is wrong. You can create a thriving community without having to have official borders and the postive and productive influence of a community can easily open up borders and access to other countries for members of that community.
