I think Its about sheep mentality, some never has their ability to think right but can only follow, they attracted by the words and attires of some powerful people, most are like that and these people are poor, they cheat themselves, they dont put effort or migrate out to better amenities, instead they fall for the frauds of the cunning ones, the powerfull ones can be of any form, those who force people, some sitting on pedestals and preach, those politicians, those rich capitalistic wealthy leaders etc.

General Issues / Questions / Re: What is ISLAM?

What is islam,

Islam is peace and submission, to me, the religion we have now as claimed as Islam, definitely the majority will not come under that. In the name of Islam, what many so called religious leaders spreading is fear and superstitions.

Being islamic is really difficult, its not suppressing our blessings, but instead use that for the benefit of the community that includes ourselves, our near and dear ones and the ones in need.

Praying without understanding its purpose and claiming the more we do the more we are blessed is not Islamic.
Idolizing a physical symbol/place to be sacred without any purpose of community welfare cannot be Islamic, If prophet Ibrahim should see this, will he not break out those?

Hadeeths are ok, but its just a part that reflects prophets good deeds that should be emulated, but not copied without any meaning, do we need that  strict Arabic dress code in all places,  follow an arabic calendar that doesnt have significance, following some culture and call others who doesnt follow as mushrik, purely all leads to be a hypocrite.

Being islamic or being a muslim, accepting our god and others god are the same, not fall into sectarianism in any form to mock and suppress others, the blessings we get is to work for the welfare and happiness of those who surround us,live as how the praised ones(prophets/great men) lead, taking them as examples.infact the core of Quranic message is this and nothing else.

Quote from: Fusion on April 07, 2024, 06:39:05 AMHi Amin,
I believe the whole so called Muslims-Nation for past 1400 years has been led behind the light of a truck with such stories and this has caused so much irrecoverable damage and every one looks upon some sort of external healer to come and save em all.

I wonder which nation is mentioned in the following verse and where can I find such a nation or was this verse only relevant to the Prophet Mohammad and his companions during his life time only.

You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient." (Quran 3:110)

Peace Fusion,

Does that refers to any nation/sect?, I think its comparison between the believers and the people of the scriptures who took scripture as guidance and not respect the lively verses,

" you the people who could enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah (the common goodness provider) are the blessed and the best, if those who took the scripture has believed in Allah, it would be better for them. There are submitters/believers among them, but most of them are more violators or unreliable."

The most superstitious are some muslims, who say and believe that reading some surah these many times, do prayer these many times, fast more on so and so days and one will be blessed etc...

Yes things are doomed for those who idolize and who do not use reason, it doesnt matter if any individual has such beliefs but as a community it looks going too far and are meant to fall. Now any one can bring in some texts in Arabic and say these are sunnah and no one questions, even if those were brought by crooked elements that wanted their downfall.

You go complicated, its so simple, kutiba = decreed, written down, meaning it cant be changed, refers to the rule of nature or laws that cant be change as per owns will, this is same in other languages too, like those sculpted/written down has more value than whats passed orally which can be forgotten easily.

It's your view.. Appreciate. I don't see any benefit of fasting.. I mean conventional fasting by skipping food and drink.. It only named as skipping food.. Lol..

I was born to a lower middle class family.. And I had times where I was self sufficient and with Covid and all again jobless.. During entire life almost or  more than three decades I have fasted.. I never learned anything from it..
Tried a lot to learn but nothing I learned.. Cuz it is meaningless ritual.

Look.. For Rich they have their way of fasting.
Loads of food and drinks at dawn.. Half a days of sleep.. And before sunset, set to breakfast in front of table full of food and drinks.. And indeed it's a feast...

Poor people anyway they don't have more than one meal a day throughout the year.. People like me at least trying two meal  a day or sometimes one.. That too basic of basic food just to tame the hunger.. So.. During fasting they skip food and drink during day time.. And poor people too.  Cuz two meals a day means..at least 15 hours no food... So as a poor person being in poverty teaches us lot of thing and needless again additionally stay in hunger and learn... Do you ever understand that my lovely people..
I don't blame rich at all.. They are rich and blessed and thats how life style is.. But rich person eat more and tummy full and fast.. When tummy full normally in my little experience I can skip food and drink easily for one day.. Cuz hunger never comes save sleep.. And specially if I had full of flesh instead of carbs.. And I feel so sad to those  who in hot sun doing labor work.. And honestly they don't fast.. I checked.. They indeed doing that labor work to ease their hunger and not to be in hunger..
Allah never commanded to be in hunger.. I never believe it..
Siyam is beautiful practice of self Descipline regardless of rich or poor..cultivate it by freshening every month in case you deviated..but siyam is retribution for certain violations in life and reform those  specific violations by being self control..

If skipping food and drink makes a person thathaqun and Ivan afraid all Muslim world is muththakun... That's a whopping lie..

I like your view, the steadfastness/discipline at times of hardships is the one required for us to come out of those difficult times.
I too have the idea, that fasting is not simply restricted to food alone, but primarily it starts with food.
Most of us revolves around with excesses of all kinds, be it rich or poor, these comes as a social practice, some may not follow or follow it as per their ableness.

I am thinking why the Islamic founders opted for a calendar to be solely based on moon is still not clear, as names like Rabi(spring that starts over march) should be spring months not the winter ones, possibly they want to remove all links of the religious events completely away from the preexisting practices that relied on sun/seasons or they thought its of no use to them or idolizing?

The sea farers, the farmers, the nomads in the desert, all need to adjust their activities based on the seasons, even our cleaning/repairing of the house if practiced on specific month, it will benefit?

Everyone sees the benefits of fasting, it cleans both the mind and body, even though i think the Ramadan should be a specific month with bright moon, possibly around September, and thats when the seasons change  all through out the world and many cultures do some kind of fasting in this month for some reasons.

By Fasting we not only abstain from food, but our excesses in all forms, our new found habits that we feel we are addicted with.

Don't misunderstand me and don't get angry with me.. This is the weirdest I have ever heard in this topic..

So to look after your own kid/s being a single parent (father) he had to marry four women just cuz he became a widowed... Why need four wives to look after children?
And you know well you can't marry unless you pay dowry to women and in case of free woman that's hectic..
Look brother Amin.. Allah has never hampered any man from marrying a woman when he lost his wife.. So he can always marry a woman but why four?  Did he lose four of his previous wifes? And it is husbands duty to look after wives thats clear in black and white in Quran.. So if you marry looking for riches of women and depend on them then it is shame..  Come on open your eyes.. Then why Allah says if Nika taken marriage to marry MMA and whst benefit for him and children in connection with wealth while MMA is his own responsibility regardless of marriage.. He can always command MMA to look after children.. Cuz they are MMA.. So what riches MMA will bring by marrying them on connection with orphans. Further you indirectly stating this father was living in wife's property all the time and as soon as she died he became poor so he was commanded to marry four..

No need to be desperate to bring meaning to Allahs pure verses to streamline and iron out polygamy... Polygamy existed in that society...

Note.. Yatama orphans are considered fatherless or both makes sense and not motherless.yes modern meaning of orphan can mean single parent is orphan.. While father is living to call orphan is strange while father can marry and she becomes stepmother.. While having stepmother no one is orphan.. I guess..

Yes, i understand you, but this is what i get when i first read the verse. But the common understanding is about marrying the orphans  when he feels the orphans cannot be married to himself(he has authority somehow to decide on this) he seek elsewhere, two three or four or one or slave, as per his status.

Why i got that understanding is, Orphans normally refers to the children without support and not mature people, after maturity they lose their status, so i thought they should be well below marriage age, so need support for their growing up... and the marriage part comes next, but i may be wrong.

4.3 And if you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphans(kids), then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one or those your right hands possess [i.e., slaves]. That is more suitable that you may not incline [to injustice].

Its about the orphan kids, father who lost his wife but with children and without any other support, then father could marry, to have a support for the orphans, also marriage is more of a support system, the multiple, the person has more strength and responsibility to support. Normally rich powerful people marry more than one to support their family. We need to see the conditions of society then to understand this.
