"And they ask you about the Two Horned One, say: 'I will recite to you a remembrance of him. We had facilitated for him in the land, and We had given him the means to all things. So he followed the means.'" (18:83-85)

In chapter 18 of the Quran we come across the story of a mysterious powerful individual known as "Dhul Qarnain" (Two Horned One / One From Two Eras). This mysterious character roams towards the west and the east on a mission from God and has been given the authority to even punish people when needed (see 18:86).

It is during his mission to the east that we come across the famed story of "Gog & Magog," who, according to tradition are two tribes of people who are committing unspeakable atrocities and evil, that God allows Dhul Qarnain to lock them behind an Iron Wall/Barrier that these people will not be able to escape from until near the Day of Judgement.

Yusuf Ali: They said: "O Zul-qarnain! the Gog and Magog (People) do great mischief on earth: shall we then render thee tribute in order that thou mightest erect a barrier between us and them?" He said: "(The power) in which my Lord has established me is better (than tribute): Help me therefore with strength (and labour): I will erect a strong barrier between you and them: "Bring me blocks of iron." At length, when he had filled up the space between the two steep mountain-sides, He said, "Blow (with your bellows)" Then, when he had made it (red) as fire, he said: "Bring me, that I may pour over it, molten lead." Thus were they made powerless to scale it or to dig through it. He said: "This is a mercy from my Lord: But when the promise of my Lord comes to pass, He will make it into dust; and the promise of my Lord is true." (18:94-98)

The tale of Gog & Magog appears in the Hebrew Bible centuries ago (being understood as persons or tribes, and even land), whilst Zul Qarnain has been linked to figures such as Alexander the Great. Over the centuries, any undesirable people have been labeled as Gog & Magog: the Vikings, Huns, Khazars, Mongols, Turanians, and most recently, the Chinese.

Gog

Of course, in following the traditional thought process - we are forced to come upon some difficult questions:

  • How are these people still surviving if they have been denied natural resources and are walled behind a gate/barrier?
  • How does a simple iron wall hold back two full tribes? Can't they find another exit or dig around it or erode it with water and salt? (of course we know the Quran says they can't, but the question is rhetorical here).
  • Why does God punish the people who's parents may have committed the crime by having them locked-up also? Doesn't God teach us that no person carries the burden of another - even if a relative (see 35:18)

Going back to our story in the Quran...

"Until he reached an area that was between two barriers, he found within it a people who could barely understand anything said." (18:93)

This is a very interesting description God is giving us of the people who resided near Gog & Magog: "who could barely understand anything said". It is written by some translators/interpretations that these people did not have the command of language (i.e. they were primitive), yet, in the very next verse they are conversing with Zul Qarnain and telling him of their problem with Gog & Magog!

Obviously there is something wrong with these people and it is not their lack of language...

Could it be that the people of this village/town have been mentally affected by something?

Mental

"They said: "O Two Horned  One, Gog and Magog are corrupters of the land, so shall we make a tribute  for you that you will make between us and them a barrier?" He said: "What my Lord  has given me is far better. So help me with strength and I will make between you and them a landfill." (18:94-95)

When reading the Great Quran we cannot help but notice the subtle differences in the conversation...The people of the village ask Zul Qarnain to make between them and that which is causing corruption a "barrier", yet, his response is "what you need is a landfill!"

We are reminded here of 18:84 where God tells us that Zul Qarnain was given the "means to all things" - meaning that he had a knowledge and understanding that the people did not possess...They asked for a wall/barrier, and he told them "no," what you need is a landfill.

"Bring me dense metal,' until  he leveled between the two sides. He said: "Blow," until he made it into fire. He said: "Bring me tar so I can pour it over." So they could not penetrate  it, and they could not advance in it."" (18:96-97)

And what did Zul Qarnain build this landfill with? Rock/dirt? No, he asked the people to pour for him "dense metal" (not even just normal metal). This is surely becoming a strange story, with two evil tribes being locked behind a landfill (what were they doing underground to start with?!) and then having "dense metal" be poured over the opening!

Below is a list of some of the dense metals that we have available on Earth...

Most dense metals

  1. Silver – 10,49 gr/cm³: currency, jewelry, dentistry, photography
  2. Lead – 11,34 gr/cm³: used as electrodes in the process of electrolysis
  3. Palladium – 12,16 gr/cm³: catalytic converters; watch-making, production of surgical instruments
  4. Mercury – 13,59 gr/cm³: electronic applications
  5. Uranium – 18,90 gr/cm³: high-density penetrators; fuel for nuclear power plants
  6. Gold – 19,32 gr/cm³: money, investment, jewelry
  7. Tungsten / Wolfram – 19,60 gr/cm³: heavy metal alloys and steels; used in kinetic energy penetrators
  8. Plutonium – 19,80 gr/cm³: fissile component in nuclear weapons; electrical power generation
  9. Platinum – 21,40 gr/cm³: mainly used as a catalyst in chemical reactions
  10. Osmium – 22,61 gr/cm³: often alloyed with other metals, used in tips of fountain pens
Plug

He said: "This  is a mercy from my Lord. But when the promise of my Lord comes, He will make it crumble. And the promise of my Lord is truth." (18:98)

Here we have Zul Qarnain declaring that the corruption of these two entities has now been contained, and that God will allow the barrier to crumble at a future date - a date that is linked to the coming destruction of man...

The above verses seem to paint a wildly different picture than the ones we have been taught of mad tribes and little people burrowing beneath the Earth...What we seem to have is an incident where some type of nuclear energy was spilling out of the Earth causing radiation sickness to the inhabitants of the land. What we then have is a man to whom God has given wisdom and knowledge understanding the crisis and building a landfill with "lead" (or any other dense metal) as a shield from the radiation.

From this reading of the Quran, we can conclude that Gog & Magog are not two tribes, nor are they even people or humans - rather, Gog & Magog are a type of energy.

The words in Arabic "Yajouj/Majouj" indicate a similarity between the two, only changed by the first letter - a letter that denotes a similarity, yet difference between the two...

Gog & Magog = Fission & Fusion

fission

The power of the atom could have occurred in nature as a fission reactor (evidence of natural nuclear reactions have been recorded in Oklo, Gabon - see link), or, this could have been a man-made reactor stemming from earlier times before the technology of man was forgotten with the great flood and many wars that may have followed.

Gog & Magog and thr Rise of Israel

"And it is forbidden for a town We destroyed that they return to it. Until Gog and Magog is opened; and then they will come from every place en masse." (21:95-96)

A casual reading of the Qur'an usually overlooks the prophetic link in 21:95-96 between a "town being re-established" and the emergence of "Gog & Magog". Who is this town and how will they rise from after God had allowed their destruction?

In sura 17, the nation of Israel are with regards to future prophecy and upon which they play a pivotal role. God tells us that this nation will commit great corruption on the Earth twice, and that the first one has come to pass and that God sent upon them His servants to destroy their town and dispell their power.

"And We decreed to the Children of Israel in the Book, that you will make corruption twice on the earth, and that you will become very high and mighty. So, when the promise of the first one comes to pass, We would send against you servants of Ours who are very powerful, thus they managed to breach your very homes, and this was a promise which has come to pass." (17:4-5)

With regards to the "second rising of Israel," we are told that this will involve their comming together in one place from all the different places.

"And We said after him to the Children of Israel: "Dwell on the earth, then, when the time of the second promise comes, We will bring you all together as a mixed crowd." (17:104)

Is this the "town" that God refers to in 21:95 as being "forbidden" from rising again?

If so, then the rise of this town (Israel) has been conditioned with the emergence of Gog & Magog in 21:96.

And, if you agreed with the premise that Gog & Magog are "Fision & Fusion," then here are some interesting historical facts:

  • Nuclear fusion was theorized by British astrophysicist Arthur Eddington. Eddington's theory was first published in 1926 in the Internal Constitution of the Stars.
  • Nuclear fission was discovered in December 1938 by Otto Hahn and Fritz Strassmann at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Chemistry in Berlin.

These two reactions "Fission & Fusion" have come together at the same time-line to be disovered and unleashed at the begining of the 20th century. The first atomic bomb was successfully detonated on July 16, 1945, in a remote desert location near Alamogordo, New Mexico. This event, known as the Trinity test, marked the beginning of the Atomic Age.

On May 14, 1948, David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish Agency, proclaimed the establishment of the State of Israel. U.S. President Harry S. Truman recognized the new nation on the same day.

After over 2,500 years since the Babylonian Exile of 597 B.C., the town of "Israel" has come into existence once again...

Israel

Is it a coencidence that this town comes to life with a few years from the discovery and unleashing of the powers of Fission & Fusion...Or, is this the truth of Gog & Magog?
