13:35 The parable of the Garden which the righteous are promised!- beneath
it flow rivers: perpetual is the enjoyment thereof and the shade therein: such
is the end of the Righteous; and the end of Unbelievers in the Fire.

47:15   A similitude of the Garden which those who keep their duty (to Allah) are promised:
Therein are rivers of water unpolluted, and rivers of milk whereof the flavour changeth not,
and rivers of wine delicious to the drinkers, and rivers of clear-run honey; therein for them
is every kind of fruit, with pardon from their Lord. (Are those who enjoy all this) like those
who are immortal in the Fire and are given boiling water to drink so that it teareth their bowels?

The afterlife is unseen.

Does it exist already?  What difference does it make?

[2:25] Give good news to those who believe and lead a righteous life that they will
have gardens with flowing streams. When provided with a provision of fruits therein,
they will say, "This is what was provided for us previously." Thus, they are given
allegorical descriptions. They will have pure spouses therein,
and they abide therein forever.

Salam, brother hawk!

I wonder how do you translate 18:54
And We have certainly diversified in this Qur'an for the people from every [kind of] example; but man has ever been, most of anything, [prone to] dispute. [Sahih International]

Peace!

Peace All
God knows that the majority of human are not going to accept the true surrender to Him. They are not going to accept that GOD wants this true surrender and acceptance as a first step/criteria towards giving them the guidance and understanding of His message.
In fact ,deep down in their conviction, they doubt that GOD Alone can guide. They think their intelligence,, ego,or other"gods"'clever humans/scholars/...can guide them better.
So they argue their case despite clear evidence that GOD s message is full of examples and lessons of those that are disobedient and arrogant(like Ibless for example)
18:54: "We have cited/given in this Quran every kind of example, but the human being is the most argumentative creature"
GOD says that paradise exist/will exist.( There will be one for sure when it is needed). While here in this life it is pointless arguing either way or where exactly it is.
For example this will happen:
The day will come when He says, "Call upon My partners, whom you claimed to be gods beside Me," they will call on them, but they will not respond to them. An insurmountable barrier will separate them from each other.

And in here the example of hell:
"The guilty will see Hell, and will realize that they will fall into it. They will have no escape therefrom."

More example from the past humans:
"Nothing prevented the people from believing, when the guidance came to them, and from seeking the forgiveness of their Lord, except that they demanded to see the same (kind of miracles) as the previous generations, or challenged to see the retribution beforehand."

"We only send the messengers as simply deliverers of good news, as well as warners. Those who disbelieve argue with falsehood to defeat the truth, and they take My proofs and warnings in vain."

The criteria of total acceptance and trust  in GOD  is very important:
"Who are more evil than those who are reminded of their Lord's proofs, then disregard them, without realizing what they are doing. Consequently, we place shields on their hearts to prevent them from understanding it (the Quran), and deafness in their ears. Thus, no matter what you do to guide them, they can never ever be guided."
So paradise exist or will exist  and we will all know for sure after this life.
GOD is inviting all of you there:
"Yet, your Lord is the Forgiver, full of mercy. If He called them to account for their deeds, He would annihilate them right there and then. Instead, He gives them a respite until a specific, predetermined time; then they can never escape."
Do not let disbelief, arrogance  and disobedience make  fall into "hell"
GOD bless you all.
Peace.
TOTAL LOYALTY TO GOD ALONE.   IN GOD I TRUST

Peace TellMeTheTruth,  I understand ayat 18:54 like this:

(18:54) And surely We have explained matters to people in the Qur'an in
diverse ways, using all manner of parables. But man is exceedingly contentious.

This is to warn the people that the Quran has left no stone unturned in making the
truth plain. It has employed all kinds of arguments, parables, similitudes and used
all the possible effective ways to appeal to the hearts and the minds of man, adopted
the best possible style and I also think some of us make the mistake that the Quran
among other things is other than a book of guidance, given to us so that we can walk
the Sirat al-Mustaqim.  sometimes we prefer to debate the unseen even though it is
called the unseen for a reason.
