Peace brothers and sisters

This is a thread where we can share our favorite things.

What are some of your favorite things?

1. What is your favorite sport?

2. What is your favorite fruit?

3. What is your favorite food?

4. What is your favorite country?

5. What is your favorite movie?

6. What is your favorite song?

7. What is your favorite Tv show?

8. What is your favorite car?

9. What is your favorite branch of knowledge?

10. What is your favorite leisure activity?

You might have more than one favorite movie or more than one favorite song etc.  For example you might have 2 favorite movies or 2 favorite songs. If you have more than one favorite movie or more than one favorite song, and would like to share it here, you can off course write about it. By the way, you don't need to answer all of the questions. So if you feel that one or more of the questions are personal and would like to skip them, it is ok. But to participate in this thread, you must at least answer 5 of the 10 questions in the list above.

My wish is that many people will participate/join this thread.

I am looking forward to read your comments.

Peace Fusion, all,

I thought it would be interesting to read some of the favorite things of different members in FM. So that's the reason why I started this thread. The primary point/purpose of this thread is for us get to know each other better.

Let me answer the questions...

Q: What is your favorite sport?

A: My favorite sport is Soccer. And Zinedine Zidane is one of my favorite soccer players. I think he is one of the best soccer players of all time.

Q: What is your favorite fruit?

A: I have more than one favorite fruit. One of my favorite fruits is Avocado. And another one of my favorite fruits is pineapple.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Pizza.

Q: What is your favorite country?

A: Japan.

Q: What is your favorite movie?

A: I have several favorite movies. One of my favorite movies is "My sassy girl." Another one of my favorite movies is "The Matrix."

Q: What is your favorite song?

A: I have more than one favorite song. One of my favorite songs is: "Whitney Houston - I look to you." And another of my favorite songs is: "Bob Marley - Redemption song."

Q: What is your favorite Tv show?

A: One of my favorite Tv shows/series is "According to Jim." And another one my favorite Tv series is "Brain (A south korean medical drama).

Q: What is your favorite car?

A: I have more than one favorite car. One of my favorite cars is Lamborgini, another is Aston Martin and another is Rolls Royce. I would love to drive those cars at least once in my lifetime. But I would never try to save money to buy such cars. I prefer to buy a much much cheaper car (in the future) and use my money/savings for other and more important things instead. I haven't had a car the last few years. Even though I don't have a car, I borrow/drive a car once in while. When I am going to buy a car (in the future) I want to buy it with cash money. Because I don't like car loans. By the way, I like the idea of reducing/minimizing our carboon footprint on the world by taking a variety of steps; For example by walking/biking more and driving less. For those who are interested here is an informative website with information about how to reduce/minimize our carboon footprint: http://www.carbonfund.org/reduce

Q: What is your favorite branch of knowledge?

A: I guess my favorite branch/field/area of knowledge is "Philosophy."

Q: What is your favorite leisure activity?

A: I have more than one favorite leisure activity. One of my favorite leisure activities is to play video games, although I don't do it very often (due to time constraints). And another of my favorite leisure activities is playing chess (I guess I am intrigued by mentally stimulating games).

Here are some of my other favorite things:

My favorite tea is: "Ginger tea." Because it taste good (in my opinion). And because it has a lot of health benefits. Here is a website with interesting information about the benefits of drinking Ginger tea:

https://www.google.no/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=5DB4VLjfBI-r8we7qoDYBw&gws_rd=ssl#q=ginger+tea+benefits

My favorite scientific theory is: "The theory of evolution."

My favorite political system is: Dictatorship ;D Nah, just kidding :P Hehehe. My favorite political system is actually Democracy (particularly the swiss version of democracy). I also like a type of democracy which is in line with the Quranic message and which consists of the best principals of republicanism, libertarianism, egalitarianism, pluralism, secularism, individualism, collectivism, capitalism and socialism, although such a type of democracy does not exist in this day and age.

Man of Faith

Harmony upon you,
I thought I may as well participate although the answers are perhaps boring.
1. What is your favorite sport?
No sport. I am against competitive games, although I may watch soccer despite this sometimes.
2. What is your favorite fruit?
It is better to say which fruits I do not like although I cannot remember their names right now for they are rare.
3. What is your favorite food?
Gormeh Sabzi - Persian dish which is a sort of stew including a rich variety of herbs and meat.
Gheime - Another Persian stew with lentils and different types of it with various ingredients.
Chello Morgh - Boiled chicken which is stew-like with carrots.
My wife is Persian and this is why I have got accustomed to these. I like more dishes more or less as much as these but none sprung to mind right now.
I am not a junk food person although if well prepared a hamburger or pizza can taste well but hardly beats above.
4. What is your favorite country?
None. All are corrupt although some less than others.
I am more focused on its citizens than the country and there are always of each kind in each country.
I tend to prefer a geographical location which does not have winter yet abundant water thanks to rivers allowing agriculture most of the year around.
5. What is your favorite movie?
Quite a few, but those who have stuck to my mind are (and that I can ramble quotes from):
The Terminator (the theme)
Star Wars (the theme)
I often consider above as philosophical works and may use them as allegories in faith, particularly Star Wars. Terminator because of the irony that the machines perceive the humans as a threat when SkyNet becomes self aware yet with cold logic (the Terminator in T2 hints at this when talking to John Connor about how humans destroy themselves).
Star Wars I am not sure I have to mention why I consider a good philosophical work; think the Force, good vs. evil, and the nature (consequences) of good and evil. It is perfect to include as modern allegories to explain the dynamics of "God" (as I do from time to time). Star Wars is spirituality on a high level and can be derived from to make many allegories.
6. What is your favorite song?
None in particular although I have certain inclination towards (due to lyrics):
Rod Stewart - Faith of the heart
Marty Robbins - Private Wilson White
Marty Robbins - Big Iron
Johnny Cash - Man in Black
Johnny Cash "several titles about the poor and beaten down"
Johnny Rivers - Poor Side of Town
Dolly Parton & Willie Nelson - Everything's beautiful (in its own way)
But the list could go on forever from artists of most genres, although songs with touching lyrics are favored.
7. What is your favorite Tv show?
Star Trek "any series although I like Deep Space 9 the least due to very uneven quality"
8. What is your favorite car?
The Audi brand, although I lately buy Japanese cars due to cheaper price and perceived longer durability and being cheap to maintain and my last was a Mitsubishi Carisma -96 GTi 125hp 4 cylinders 16 valve and before that a Volvo V40 T4, turbo charged 4 cylinder 2.7L engine with 200hp with automatic gearbox (it drunk too much gas although fun to drive).
Apart from that I am not much interested in sport cars. I prefer cars which are well-equipped, comfortable and big with decent horsepower compared to pure sport cars. However, I am not picky so the most important is that a car is taken care of well and thus smooth to drive. I like to play grease monkey myself.
9. What is your favorite branch of knowledge?
Psychology, history and religion/spirituality, because they walk hand in hand basically.
10. What is your favorite leisure activity?
When I can I like to play computer games, mostly RPG or turn-based strategy such as UFO - Enemy Unknown/Xcom defense from 1992.
Faith be with you

Peace Man of Faith,

Thank you for your comment :)

Terminator is a good movie, in my opinion. I also like Star Wars.

Peace Neptin,

Thank you for your comment  :)

I love Resident evil. And Resident evil 2 is my favorite video game of all time. It is one of the greatest video games ever made, in my opinion. I used to play Resident evil 2 a lot when I was younger. Resident evil 2 opened my mind to some great truths and touched my heart on a deep level. That game literally changed my view on life. Resident evil 1 and Resident evil 4 are also great games, in my opinion. Final Fantasy 7 is also one of my favorite video games, and I loved that game a lot. Also, I used to play Metal gear solid in the past, and I loved that game too.

I love the US and Canada (particularly). In terms of culture and climate, Canada is very similar to the country I am residing/living in, by the way.

I would like to mention that I never buy "Ginger tea" from the store. Whenever I want to drink Ginger tea, I only buy a Ginger root. And then I make my own Ginger tea. For those who are interested in making their own Ginger tea, I recommend watching this video:

Let me clarify what I wrote in my post (see above) to not create any misunderstandings. The horror scenes of Resident evil 2, did not touch my heart of on a deep level ;D My heart does not get touched by horror :P But there are a few psychological/philosophical scenes in the game, and these scenes touched my heart on a deep level. Resident evil 2 is not a mindless shooting game at all.
