Because they commit shirk and shirk is the unforgivable sin

Man of Faith

I would say that it is mainly the ego which will place people in Hell.

It's better not to judge that all of them are going to Hell.  We cannot decide so quickly that all of sect followers are bad.

Even, based on my personal experiences, I think that God also "admonishes" me if I do something not right on them.

I prefer to remember that I also don't really know whether I can succeed in my test, I don't really know how I will end up. May God help me to always trust Him.

Salām.
[33:72] Verily, We offered the trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they refused to bear it and they were afraid of it; but man bear it - verily, he was transgressing, ignorant.

We cannot know.

We may know things useful for us, for our own scope. But real knowledge is not ours.

God does know, thank God. So we are relieved of a responsibility that is beyond, way beyond we could even understand. And that is Good for sunnnies, shias, dogs, clouds... everything.

Our position is not that of judges, but that of requesters for God's mercy.

Salaam

No-one knows what's in the heart of people and even if we did, we're not the judge. God knows best.

6:159  VERILY, as for those who have broken the unity of their faith and have become sects - thou hast nothing to do with them. Behold, their case rests with God: and in time He will make them understand what they were doing.

Peace.

We all have blind spots.
Follow your heart but take your brain with you.
ambiguity is there for a reason, why do you think?
We're all different, so how can we all be equal?

How consistent are you in that opinion?  Is Iblis evil?  Is zina talking about adulterers?  Does Quran condemn homosexuality? If your answer to one of those is yes, I'm afraid we are still judging in Gods place.

My comment remains valid based on the question asked. Maybe I should have said God is the ultimate judge.

Everyone has been given a brain to use to make their own conclusions. Doesn't mean it's right. At the end God will judge. There is a difference between a persons views and God's judgment.

If you have an opinion yes or no to any of those questions it doesn't mean your conclusion is right or Godly.

Let me make it clearer for you. You're in a court case, your lawyer or friends thinks you will not be guilty but the verdict is in and the judge says you're guilty. Doesn't matter what the friends thought. If the judge says your guilty that's it.

I'm not the judge, regardless of what my thoughts or views are. God is, make sense?

I judge only by Quran.  It's not even my opinion.  Quran nowhere says Iblis is evil, nowhere does it condemn homosexuality and nowhere does it give us permission to flog adulterers.  I can back this up with Quranic evidence.

@SarahY: pls don't take this as a personal accusation or attack, it's not intended as such.

We all agree we can't judge sectarians or other ppl, we dont know what is in the hearts of others.  It's one of the achievements of this movement.  We destroyed those doctrines created by hadith and sunnah.  But imho there are still some walls that need to go down.  Those I was referring to.
