Evoking Ancestrial Spirits
« on: August 07, 2012, 03:35:22 PM »
As-Salaam Alaikum,

I would like to know what would be the ruling (halal or haraam) on evoking ancestrial spirits in light of the Qur'an only. A few examples:

1. Evoking the spiritual presence of ancestors during a rites of passage ceromony.

2. Evoking ancestrial spirits during meditation for guidance or wisdom.

3. Contact and communication with jinn.

Thanks!

Since the Qur'an is just the reiteration and the confirmation of the Torah, in the Torah it is clearly forbidden to get in contact with deceased people, and invoke dead spirits... (which shows that it is possible to do so), but it is forbidden by God and considered "haram"!
LET GO AND LET GOD!

Thank you and I love you.

Peace begins with me.

As-Salaam Alaikum,

The Qur'an is a confirmation of the orginal messages that came before which the present bible is not, so it can't be used as a reference for this question. Besides, the law of the Qur'an would supercede the old laws that's why I asked out of the Qur'an only.

As Amir Fatir put it not all ancestors deserve to be called upon. He also says the African sages never worshipped their ancestors. They communicated with them to learn the secrets of other realms and for help and intercession. This is a strong human need. When that need is not met, a perversion can arise, ancestor worship.

Peace Gnosis.

Qoran said you only need GOD. So why call on anyone else?

Peace.

Evoke them anyway you want..
They will not answer..

It's not "Haram" or "Halal" (As it hurt no one).. it's more of either "Smart" or "Stupid" things to do...
I'll vote for Stupid..

And yes it's written as Al-Arabu and not Al-Badawi or Badawiyun..

Again the case of 'priestly novel fantasies' to satisfy the need of his customer ergh.. believers.. (which in return shall give the priest/ulema/cleric/rabbis: $$$, power and/or influence)

It's the same 'modus operandi' on any 'religion / worshiping cult'... whether it's Monotheism, Polytheism or Ancestry-Theism..

Salam / Peace

Salam Gnosis,

I think if Sulayman AS was calling for help from Jinns, what's it different from us calling for another human's help?
I think there is a way for us to communicate with Jinn and it has to do with the state of Sakar and it has something to do with the usage of ثَمَرَاتِ النَّخِيلِ وَالْأَعْنَابِ grapvine and fruit of some sort, Graham Hancock has some mentioning on ayahuascan brew of some sort.

Sakar is not intoxicant, since the word sends out a negative connotation unless you regard death as negative.

As long as we don't worship the jinn or human in that case we should be safe.
