You say that god won't prescribe something harmful to us, but I have jut given you medical evidenced for how harmful fasting is, especially fasting for a whole month every year. So yes fasting DOES harm your body and since I don't believe that god would prescribe something harmful for us either, I do not think that he has prescribed fasting for us.
